Sears had their beam style torque wrenches half off in store on clearance. $12 for the 3/8 and $15 for the 1/2. One store had them marked, but the other didn't and I didn't have them price check since I was in a hurry.

Wiha's pliers are no longer made in Germany. Old stock wiha pliers were made in Germany... the new stuff is made Vietnam.

I went to sears today, and some flea market jerkoff already cleared out all of the 97 cent sockets

Yep, god forbid people get to just enjoy and share a great deal on tools, some greedy jackass has to come and buy out the entire deal. That's why I don't visit places like Slickdeals... there's absolutely no sense of community, it's all about ME! ME! ME! ME! ME!

Absolutely disgusting. If you want to run a resale business, then you should go pay your business licensing fees and taxes like everyone else. If not, go get a real job and stop being a pretend businessman.

30998px420.jpg

plus you get a free cable cutter or other tools when you spend $100
Bringing it to $11.11 for a pair of pliers.

As an electrician with to sons in the trade we are always on look for plier deals. Got mine ordered yesterday.

I bought the 8" dikes over the holidays when they were having the sales. I think they said it was made in India. Either way they are really nice and I am glad I picked them up.

you just have to grab one of the cheap clearance screwdrivers on the other sale page to bring it above the $100 threshold...who doesnt need another #2 phillips

Hmm, I just did the plier set and added the free cutter. The site let me so I figured it was ok, but in hindsight I don't think their web cart is sophisticated enough to dis-allow any of that based upon total.

Will I not get the free cutter I wonder?

From my experience last year, yes, you will receive the free cutter.

I was cruising Sears (Atlanta-Northlake) Sunday, and I noticed a lot of Knipex stuff marked down, FYI.

Sears also has their Craftsman nut drivers 50% off if you need to complete your set. They are $3.97 per instead of $7.97.

I just went to Sears and they had a ton of .97 cent stuff left. I got one of every flex socket they had for .97 cent's as well as four 3/4" drive sockets for .97 cents each as well including one large 2 5/8" socket. The regional manager was there and said sometime next week they are going to be blowing out allot of tools for .97 and 1.97 each.

For those of you who haven't found the $.97 sockets - are you scanning them or just looking? Most of the stores near me haven't gotten around to marking anything but the clearance prices are still in the system.

Below is what I've found. These, afaik, were true at four different Sears stores in CT (Corbin's Corner, Meriden, Enfield, and Buckland Hills). Only Meriden had anything marked. The local Sears hardware (Bristol) had all of these and more on clearance too but the prices were all higher ($1.88 for regular sockets and $4.88 for flex, iirc).

1/4" dr:
7/32" hex
1/4" hex
5/16" hex
3/8" hex

1/4" flex
5/16" flex is NOT on clearance(?!?)
3/8" flex
7/16" flex
1/2" flex
9/16" flex

possibly some smaller metric flex
13mm flex
14mm flex

3/16" 12pt shallow
9/16" 12pt shallow

**/32" 12pt shallow and deep
(possibly others too)

3/8" dr:
#1 phillips bit socket

7/32" slotted bit socket
9/32" slotted bit socket
3/8" slotted bit socket

3/8" 6pt flex
7/16" 6pt flex
1/2" 6pt flex
9/16" 6pt flex
5/8" 6pt flex
11/16" 6pt flex
3/4" 6pt flex

11mm 6pt flex
16mm 6pt flex
19mm 6pt flex

15/16" swivel spark plug socket

ALL 8pt sockets (I think)

1/2" dr:
These are from someone else's post. I didn't note all of the bigger sockets that were on clearance - the sizes seemed pretty random.
10mm 6pt shallow
12mm 6pt shallow

14mm 12pt deep
16mm 12pt deep

3/4" dr:
The exhaustive list of 3/4" drive sockets on clearance ($.97ea):
47771- 7/8
47772- 15/16
47773- 1
47774- 1-1/16

47791- 2-3/16
47792- 2-1/4
47793- 2-3/8

US-made Pro, fully polished flare wrenches (open stock)
$1.97ea
9x11mm
19x21mm

1/4"x5/16"

others? Pickins were slim at my Sears'.

Hope this helps. If you have anything to add, maybe quote this and edit as needed so people can just take the whole list to the store.

I tried scanning some too (DOEs and stubbies), but didn't find anything really discounted other than the flare wrenches. A lot of the individuals (full polish and ratcheting) are locked to the rack though so I couldn't try those.

Just got back from Sears. All tools are USA unless otherwise stated. I got the following sockets (all in clearance section) for .97 each
1/4 drive:
7/32" bit
1/4" bit
5/16" bit
3/8" bit
7/32" shallow 12pt
7/32 deep 12pt
1/2" shallow 12 pt

3/8 drive
16mm Swivel 6pt.

There were no flare nut wrenches in the clearance section but I gathered up all of them that where on the shelve and got these for 1.97 a piece
3/4"x7/8"
5/8"x11/11"
1/2"x9/16"

15mmx17mm
9x11mm
9x11mm (long length, not USA marked, 10 degree offset)

I will probably go back tomorrow and get some sockets that are not in my clearance section but noted as .97 cents in this thread. :rocker:

What sizes were you able to get? I didn't know that Sears sold gearwrenches individually.

13/16, 7/8, 1, 1 1/8, 1 1/4

They had a few other sizes marked down as well, but I either didn't need them or they were all gone.

This price was only at one Sears. The other I visited had not marked them down when I was there, and they didn't ring up marked down.
