i don't get why people get so much junk/old tools and think its gold. it doesnt pay to waste/spend money if people don't use the stuff. lol
This. "Hey I bought vintage Snaponprontocraftsman wrench made in USA in the 50's so no I will never use it!"

Is that right..
This. "Hey I bought vintage Snaponprontocraftsman wrench made in USA in the 50's so no I will never use it!"
Yep. Collectors. I like US stuff as much as the next guy and I have expensive taste, but when a pair of old US vintage cman pliers for $35 have more gap than a chinese $2.99 BOGO special... its just comical.
Like I said - it was funny for a few times but now its just old and a waste of peoples time - I actually came in looking to see what someone picked up and was enjoying. My $150 HF bead blast cabinet has made me more money than my $2500 TIG welder. Not everything *****.
Still funny... Watching you guys squirm and trying to show relation between a sandblaster and tig welder is a added bonus...
Good stuff..
Not as funny as watching the delusion that there is a connection between US made and quality despite over 100 years of evidence to the contrary.
But to quote previous posters and fans of Mickey - we need moar of these treads ! ! ! !
Boo Ya
lmao
I like the vintage crafty wrench holders.
Don't recall seeing those 'till joining this web-site. When did sears offer these?

Sounds like you think a whole lot of your country.
If you don't see the "connection" between U.S. made and quality,I don't think you're looking.
Anyone have any pics of some high quality chinese tools made 100 years ago?
Yeah,probably not.
What makes you think this is "my country"?Sounds like you think a whole lot of your country.
I see fat union workers who refuse to do the job right everyday because they arent being paid the extra 2 minutes to make sure they produce qualityIf you don't see the "connection" between U.S. made and quality, I don't think you're looking.

Are you not an American?
If so,this is your country, like it or not.
I see fat union workers who refuse to do the job right everyday because they arent being paid the extra 2 minutes to make sure they produce quality
And somehow we still manage to produce quality tools.
I see european and asian factories that routinely use machinery at or over 100 years old every day.
Still funny... Watching you guys squirm and trying to show relation between a sandblaster and tig welder is a added bonus...
Good stuff..
Squirm? Am I supposed to be inferior than you? I actually use my tools and don't raid yard sales to try and find old relics to put in my closet. Should I feel bad about myself because I have HF stuff mixed in my assortment? I am not sure if you're trying to belittle me or what.
I still don't know why these idiotic threads are allowed here. It brings the whole place down. There are so many great people here that have knowledge to share or want to learn and enjoy this forum and then there's a few fools who need attention and find it funny to pull the same **** over and over.![]()
Speak for yourself... There are plenty of us who enjoy reading about "old school" tools, they turn idiotic when the people who "Aren't" interested in the actual tools decide to crash the party. Maybe you guys should invest in the "ignore member" function..
Is someone forcing you to read these threads?

I'm guessing his beef isn't with the actual posting of the tool purchase but the Harbor Freight bashing method of posting. That is what he feels is bringing the place down. We all have different definitions of valuable tools and Mickey posts his purchases in such a way as to intentionally rile up the users on this board who purchase Harbor Freight Tools.
Great real! Is that all you have to say? You said the same thing the last time this type of thread was posted. I for one love old quality American made tools as much as the next person but to go out of your way to knock HF again and again is just stupid! If you get enjoyment out of foolish **** like that then why are you here?
This forum could be even better than it already is with a few simple changes. Anyway, Have a great weekend!!![]()
I'm here because I've invested more time than you ever know into this place.. This is probably the #1 hydraulic jack "self help" site on the web simply because the membership takes the time to pay it forward. Other than that I don't have justify anything to you...
Again.. I in no way shape or form see these titles/short stories as anything that demands the kind of attention/defend your moms name type behavior.
Lighten up guys...
Let me say this another way... MickeyO is spitting in the face of anyone who doesn't agree with him. Over and over again!! I'm only a 2012 guy as I was so kindly told, but I was sick of Mr. O and his B.S. after day one. The same tune over and over and over. I knew where he stood on his opinion of HF after day one and so does everyone else. Why keep grinding it?
As long as we agree with you then all is well? Hmm... I will again say that I'm on another forum that I've been on for 7 years with 17,000 posts, so what! I treat every single member with respect no matter how long they've been around.
I'm entitled to my opinion just like you are and I for one am sick of Mr.O and his B.S.!!!
Listen.. With all respect, Mickey isn't gonna change... He loves US made tools and his threads dictate that. Just like ireal life, your not gonna get along with everyone.. If it bothers you that much, just put a little check mark in the ignore member box. I have a feeling it will help... It's not fair to discriminate against him for his beliefs. It's not like its a surprise when you click on one of his threads.. Is it?

well i can't answer for mickeyO
but i can summize and tell you how i see things
these threads are purely tongue in cheek and he's having some "obvious" fun to the point of being absurd.... so anyone who comes into the posts to make a big argument about it, knowing what MickeyO is posting.... well... clearly they have some issues
but more importantly... quite clearly there are several people on here... surprise surprise... myself included don't like the **** at HF or similar type of chinese garbage, i can understand why the home user buys that and good for them
the problem really stems from threads that are centric to professional tool brands and people having stated they are thinking of this or that, and out of the wood work... these HF cheerleaders come in and state how "overpriced, greedy, just the same as, blah blah blah" comments and tout the cheap **** as a better alternative
it's like WTF
The person in the thread didn't ask, want or look for your opinion on why YOU THINK HF is a better option, then the thread gets out of hand in this back and forth arguments with obstinate HF people totally derailing the thread
Why the F do you feel so compelled to spout your two cents worth in a thread that they didn't ask for a HF comparison???
I hate their ****... but I don't go into the 56" or 44" tool chest threads to tell them what a POS those boxes are... or any other scads of threads like that...
and for reasons like that... i'm just guessing, because I know I am... people are sick of that ****
I see your point... I guess that is one reason that I get so pissed off is because I love American made tools just as much as MickeyO does and he tries to make people feel like S*hit if they buy something from HF. On most forums that would be baiting and that just isn't allowed.
Please quote me where I compared any American made tool to a HF tool.
It comes from both sides here... There are just as many members who try to turn the page and make people who buy Snap on feel like They are drunk on kool-aid.. Wasting money blah... I say just buy what you want and live your own life.
Believe it or not, the Coo debates used to be much more extreme.. It's just not worth getting worked up over. Sadly i know from personal experience...
did i say you did?
but you are in this farcical thread getting hot about it aren't you.

Uh... you quoted me on your last post so I thought it was directed at me.![]()

ya but the quote was asking why MickeyO does what he does
my first sentence replied to that
then I "summized" and "generalized" and didn't reference you
in my opinion... you should have a tequila shot, i'll join you... you are much to worked up

Listen.. With all respect, Mickey isn't gonna change... He loves US made tools and his threads dictate that.
There are a lot of good USA tools to be had on the used market for the same or better prices than HF you just have to shop around or look at the garage sale thread to see that.

'With all respect', Mickey doesnt make these threads because "he loves US tools", he makes them because he hates everything else, and his main intent is to share that hate, as long as he has the people who cheerlead for him he will continue to to post threads that are about his hatred.
Lennox, your not totaly wrong, you dont personaly come in to HF specific threads anymore, but your welcome to, anytime, speaking only for myself I would love to see you there, but it wouldnt do any good, on either side.
The big difference I see is that these threads bash HF, the HF threads, like you mentioned, dont bash the tool-trucks other than to say they are expensive, they are, truth is truth.
I use HF and Tekton tools at work in a real shop working on real trucks all day 5 days a week, I also use a very very small number of Craftsman, Stanley, Roadpro, Barjan and whatever tools I need, I also own one or two things from both the Matco truck, and two filter wrenches from the Snap-On truck, in 4 years of hobbyist wrenching and professional wrenching I have managed to break a single HF allen head socket (working on my Jeep, not a truck).
I spent as much as I could at HF and Amazon (free shipping comes more often than a truck) and thats why at least twice a day I'm asked if I have this tool or that, because they know I do, and not once has any of my 'cheap chinese garbage' been turned down or failed to preform the job at hand. I know that probably hurts your feelers, but tough ****, some chinese stuff IS tough **** and works better than the US tool no one within 1/2 mile owns.
Actually, that brings me to another point... I plan on using a propane tank for an air reserve tank. A couple threads here have been started about it, all ending with no valuable help and just telling the OP to buy this or buy that. A propane tank is DOT rated around 300 PSI because LP expands so much in the heat, like sitting under the sun. Therefore, I think I'll be OK putting ~130psi into one. Rust, you say? Flip it over afterwards and let the water come out when you drain it.
Same goes for propane heaters. Every thread is riddled with "moisture", "rust", "moisture". Yeah, thanks, but I'm effing cold and that's more important to me. I don't have the extra amperage/voltage to run a gigantic heater, nor do I have the funds or gas line for a nice ceiling mounted unit.
