I don't like taking my MacBook out to the shop and getting it all dirty/greasy

Really - something gets dirty in there? Nice clean work area!

Steevo

Need to get a wireless keyboard and mouse. That way you can sit back and enjoy. Plus the wires would be gone. Wires tend to drive me nuts.

And a wireless USB adapter for the PC and no wires at all.

He was using what he had on hand - why chuck out good stuff just cause its wired?

One day - when I'm like 70, I'm gonna have just one or two projects - and they'll be this clean. Maybe a Factory Five kit, maybe a real race car like this. And maybe my shop benches will look like Steevo's. Very cool.

Changed out the control arm bushings on the Jetta. Used Audi TT bushings also changed the inserts in the dog bone with the ES 15.1105G inserts.

Over here....
I don't like taking my MacBook out to the shop and getting it all dirty/greasy, so I dug out an old desktop (unfortunately a WinDoze machine), and stuck it in the cabinet above the bench. I made a metal bracket to attach the monitor screen under the cabinet.

What model is that HP Thin Client?

Looks like a nice cart. I eas going to pick that up. How is it?

Hello liquidh8,

I like this particular cart because it has a wider flat top and wider wheel base. The drawer glides are very smooth and work freely.

The tank shelf has two fixed chain points and will easily handle the larger tanks.

The size of the drawers fit my equipment and accessories. The price at $129 was very acceptable given the fact that I don't have to adapt a current tool cart. The piece of wood under the welder is because I will have to adapt the handle so it isn't putting pressure on the wire feed.

Bought a new air filter for the wife's car, was checking fluids and noticed ****** was low. Decided to replace ATF, made a noticeable difference.

I played around with the snow blower and added a key fob for my garage doors. I need a 28in v-belt and those are hard to find apparently so I'll be back playing with the blower tomorrow.

Look up Logitech K400 keyboard with mouse pad. It is what I use in my garage. Great wireless range and responsive. Goes on sale regularly for $19.99.

I have three of those, they're very good with Windows, adequate on Mac and PS3.

I finally decided to pull the transmission out of my truck today. I was very hesitant to attempt this myself but a few of you here offered encouragement so ...

Here she is on jack stands

This is the reason for pulling it. It leaks about a half quart of fluid every time I drive it!

Who is the genius designer that didn't include drain plugs on GM transmission pans? What an awful mess it makes when draining the fluid. Yes, it is a Chevy engine and transmission in a Ford.

This Harbor Freight transmission jack was a great investment and worked flawlessly. I got it for $65 with the sale and coupon. This was taken just before I put the strap around the transmission

And here it is removed. All in all it took about three and a half hours with no help. But this also included removing the interior carpet and bench seat as well as the dual exhaust system.

I put on new header panel, grill, bumper and left headlight assembly on my cutlass that was in a wreck two weeks ago. She is no longer pretty but still a useful old car. It was a great day to work in the shop and my favorite radio station had Merle Haggard at the featured artist. Time well spent.

Are you replacing the trans and converter or are you making repairs to this one? Should you be thinking that it is a bad front pump seal, it may not be the case. Might need a front pump bushing.

Rotated tires and changed the oil on my buddy's Tahoe. Then did a cooling system refresh on my M3. New water pump, hoses, thermostat and thermostat cover. Man, I hate working with coolant.

Yesterday, removed the engine/trans from a 1999 Porsche 996. It was 0 degrees, had 2 propane IR heaters, 3 hours done. Today its in the heated side and am going to finish the teardown to the long block

Took a little trip to the local junkyard and came home with an early 70s PowerGlide for $40. :D I shouldn't be smiling so big though -- kinda wrenched my left shoulder / neck digging it out from under the other 30 trannys in the bed of an old Ford truck.

Cleaned out and washed the wifes Nissan X-Trail and my Blazer outside the garage this morning and then this afternoon I had another bash at the light bar for the blazer. Got the new LED's in and wired up and the wiring tidied away in some split tubing and got the spotlights in and wired up so they all work, lots of soldering and heatshrinking. Just need to finish off the loom for the spotlights and get it squared away and then get the waterproof conectors on the end of the loom. Then I need to make some captive nuts to slide inside the roof rails and a dry day to take the rails apart and get them inside! Then I need to do all the interior wiring, splice into the main beam circuit so they are legal, run cable, switches, fuses and relays.

The four spots seem to throw a decent amount of light. Its not like I'm going to be doing the Baja 1000 in it, they're just for some extra light down dark country roads.

Hmmmmmmmm ... :D LOL! Nahhh, not that one. It's going into a Nova Billy's putting together that will most likely get flipped or traded for something else. He's kinda light on projects right now -- I think there's only 6. :lol_hitti

 Awesome find!

A Lenco would've been better but I won't complain too much. ;) Thanks jk!

I am trying to decide whether or not I should have it rebuilt or replace with a B&M or TCI unit. It is leaking from three or four places and was slipping so it will be a big job.

What I've done practically every Sunday this winter. Pushed the melted slush and snow out the door.

I swept mine up because it was so cold. Man I hope winter will be over soon.
