You are going to love that 6" square. I got one a while back and don't know how I got along without it.

It works as a marking gauge, depth gauge, whatever. I keep it in my pocket all the time I'm in the shop.

I hope so. It was a bit smaller than I had anticipated, but I love the double square idea, and that sucker is solid.

You guys are killing me!! I (like a few others have posted) got a call, which I missed, and an email from Steve at HJE informing me that Wright was backed up and that my order would be delayed. Outstanding customer service that most companies can't/won't be bothered with.
No problems at all with the delay, but seeing the goodies that everyone has gotten is making me more than a little envious! Patience is a virtue I was not blessed with, but I'll be ok... I think!!

I called yesterday morning to add to my order since I hadn't gotten the shipping confirmation yet Lol. He said mine was the last one. Told him to go ahead and get to it when they had time as none of it was stuff I needed for work anyway.

Think he said they should be caught up some time next week. Sounded like they got swamped. Good for them.

Just got a call from the guys at HJE. They are just waiting on a Wright wrench to come in hopefully Monday so they can send out my box. It was awesome to get a phone call from someone who spoke in a way that I could understand telling me my order was delayed. I feel like their customer service has earned my repeat business. This was my second order with them and my first Epstein's day. Haven't even got the box yet and I'm already planning another order. I'll be sure to post up pictures of what I get when it does come in.

Thanks guys!

I came home yesterday to find my Epstein's day order on the table.
Some channellock, and an Armstrong 1/4" drive 88 tooth ratchet plus other goodies.

Ratchet is super smooth.

Can you imagine we all made runs on 5.5mm, 4.5mm sockets and random wrenches like 5 mm to fill in our sets. I am sure those are most popular among us hoarders who were filling in sets. I got a call from Steve today too. I don't mind waiting at all

My order arrived yesterday while I was at work. I worked 12 hours then went to play softball and was at the ball field till midnight. I opened it last night but didn't feel like taking pics. So today after getting home from work I snapped a few pics. Really happy with all my stuff. All the shirts are made in USA. My Wright wrench sets are now complete metric from 6-23mm and standard 1/4"- 1 1/8".

Those mini Channellocks are great. I carry them in my pocket.

Hey Jori-
I meant to ask the story behind the artwork/postcard that was in my box and others.
Looks like it's someone local?

Yes, this year we had a local artist, Charlie Mylie, design an insert with the order. He is also the one that drew on almost all of the boxes. That's right. We are the first tool store ever to employ an art intern. :D

Hi Jori, thanks for the great service, fast shipping, and bonus items thrown in with my order; and thanks to Charlie for the box-art!

My modest order: 2 ChannelLock pliers & a 4-piece probe set.

Bonus stuff thrown in with order: t-shirt, tool-roll, sticker, puck, and awesome brass tag!

Box Art! I requested a '65 Cobra, and am amazed at what they can do with a cardboard box. It's even covered in a layer of packing tape to protect the art. I'll definitely be cutting out / keeping this; just need to find a place to put it.

And the whole order together...

To Jori, the whole team at HJE, and Charlie the "art intern", thank you!

Oh, and one last pictures; whether on purpose of by chance, I got a patriotic newspaper page that was used for packing inside the box:

I'm starting to get excited now! Strangely, I'm more excited about the box art than the tools I ordered.

How did you come up with the box art? I know mine is based off my screen name but wondering about some of the others.

Got my order in. Very happy with the lot. One minor complaint--I ordered a number of different size SS balls for a project. They just put them loose in the box. Went thru every scrap of wadded newspaper twice before I read the packing slip on the outside and found that they were short two pieces!

Mine still hasn't shipped?

Be patient. They're a small place, that's why we love supporting them! You'll get an email (written by a person) specifically for you and your order, soon. I got my email this morning.

I cannot imagine some of the art request terminology that comes across the art desk. I need to pick up my game to entertain the artist(s). :D

So we received well over 200+ orders on Epstein's day and we are trying to get them out as quick as we can. We have to process those orders, as well as deal with all of our local business that is coming, so it is taking a bit longer than expected. (Not to mention box art requests, etc.) So I'm sorry for the delay, and I hope you guys will be patient with us. I hope to have all the orders processed by the end of this week. Normally we can ship an order out the same day we receive it or at the very latest, the next day. Steve should be giving you a call or emailing you today, to let you know the status of your order.

thanks again for all your support

I don't mind waiting at all, I just thought it may have slipped through the cracks.

The way I see it, we started Epstein's Day as a way to support YOU guys and show YOU that we appreciate who you are and what you do. So, while I get that you as a company and as awesome individuals value customer service and timely order processing, I would advocate that we all here at GJ cut you plenty of slack. I would HATE for this to become like a Groupon "deal", where the company that is supposed to benefit gets swamped with orders, has to hire temps to get them ready on time, and then ends up in the red on the deal.

Epstein's Day is about Harry J. Epstein and Co.!

Take your time.

Woohoo! Got my order today and I'm like a kid on Christmas morning!

eju9yvyj.jpg

The breakdown:
-Facom 22x24 and 24x26 deep offset wrenches
-Wright 24" breaker bar
-Craftsman 7pc SAE ball hex driver set
-Craftsman 4pc stubby torx driver set
-Armstrong 1/4 and 3/8 aerospace ratchets
-Channellock 148-10, 410C, 911, and E338
-Wilde G410P.B battery pliers
-Ullman 1/4 and 3/8 socket rails (same as Craftsman, half the price!)
-misc Bonnet and Wright hex sockets and 3/8 -> 1/4 adapter
-German Bessey 4" bar clamps (missed out on the Lowes clearance)
-Pony 1" and 2" hand clamps. One of the 2" lost a pad along the way, but no biggie.

The Channellock E348 at the bottom was a bonus, and I'm ecstatic! Been needing a new set of linesman pliers! My Knipex pliers are going to be jealous though, they're outnumbered by blue handles now [emoji16] Got the Wright pocket screwdriver too, though it was camera shy.

Thanks again to Jori and the HJE team! First order from you guys after reading such great things here, I've already got a wish list going for my next order (believe it or not, I did cull some items from my cart this time before I pulled the trigger!) Good thing the package arrived on my day off so I can squirrel most of this away before the woman gets home [emoji6]

I googled "how to use a sharpening puck", and the best I got was a youtube video of this weird camouflaged guy with bracelets, who apparently rarely sharpens his crazy hollow axe "in the field" but is still kind enough to show us how he does it.
So I got a good laugh from that, but still don't see how we are supposed to use the sharpening pucks we're getting from Epstein's? They look quite a lot different from the ones in that youtube vid...

Hehe, googling a bit more I see that axe people take their sharpening very seriously, and so I might have stepped on someones foot, so sorry about that. It seems all sharpening pucks are handheld, and mostly used to sharpen axes?
