I'm in for details as well.....

Ok, I'll bite.

How? What? Custom order/build? Yes, I want one, so. .. Yeah.

Sorry guys, I haven't been on in a while. It's the Husky breaker speeder bar. I really liked the idea from Snap On for their ratcheting speeder but I've always struck out on ebay and here. So I made my own, the head is a HF 1/2" ratchet that I cut the handle off of. I grounded down the sides drilled a hole and fitted it to the Husky bar. I'll take pics of the head if anyone is interested in it.

Yes, pictures of the head piece would be great. Now that I've got a recipe, I can get to work.

I do appreciate the follow up.

Took a 1/4 drive nut driver with an instinct handle and swapped it with a pearl blue handle. Tools involved are a couple prybars, a rag, a vise, drill press, and a torch and/or hammer.

Put the shank in a vise, I like to clamp down on the hex bolster. Use a rag over your prybar to keep it from damaging the handle. Then just pry it up working on both sides of the handle.

Here is the driver that im putting the pearl blue handle on.

The 1/4 shank is a little bigger then the screwdriver shank so I used a drill press to drill the blue handle out. Then I used a torch to heat the 1/4 shank up and the blue handle just slid right on. Don't mess with the handle until it cools. Here's the three i've done. I love the pearl blue color :lol_hitti

Here is another 'custom' ratchet that I have been after for sometime now, just can't find out where to purchase one or from where it comes from?

Anyone know where I can get one of these?

Thanks for the link Monte, but I've tried contacting this company about purchasing these ratchets, with no success.

There is no email address listed on their website?

Their website also does not have any section where I can place an order?

Also, don't know if they accept Paypal or not?

The only thing that the website list is a phone number which is never answered? :headscrat

So is there any other way of actually purchasing these ratchets through another source?

Same here, but if I can't get my hands on them, I'm sure I can get damn close to the pattern on my CNC lathe.

Well, just by chance, if you happen to get a connection and make progress or some other source to purchase one, I'd be very appreciative if you could hook me up?!

Thanks!

Snapmom, that pic makes me wonder what the driver was to weld an extension on the handle like that. Sort of a fingertip end, or to help keep from dropping it in all oily?

I did it a few weeks ago to my 80 tooth snap on that I bought on ebay with a narfed up soft grip.

I'm super happy with the result. I used some walnut a co-worker gave me and superglue for the finish (used it before on knives- very durable). Been using it on a dirtbike teardown/rebuild and it's a real pleasure to use a tool that is both functionally and aesthetically beautiful.

turning grooves into the steel and threading the end

Tapping the brass

Turing down the brass and wood- I should have made more taper but I ddin't want the wood to get too thin. The black spacers are rubber cut from an inner tube. Idea is to allow for expansion/contraction.

Finished product

I finished it with 600 grit paper and it is really smooth- almost looks/feels like fake wood.

Show off your "Custom Handled Ratchet"

I love this thread, here's my latest attempt, didn't turn out quite as well as I wanted because I didn't have the correct size drill bit:/ I'll re'do it soon when I pick up another wera screwdriver to sacrifice, hopefully a blue one to match my socket rail [emoji48]

I took some barely used titan ratchets and added to my custom craftsman ratchets...because the titan racthet handles are wide i had to take a bit off of the 3/8 and the 1/2. I think they turned out pretty good..the flex head is old and previously posted here

They look great! And the flex head looks super cool. They turned out spot on!
How do you like the style of handle for everyday use?

Ive got my go to ratchets so these are not everyday use but they could be...i just like the idea/novelty of them..thanks for the comment
