Why didn't you just buy the 2569 set? Cost me less than $40 after the rebates and 15% off. I purchased both the 2568 and 2569 sets for $101 (after rebates and discount).

http://www.cpooutlets.com/sunex-too...er-impact-socket-set/snxn2569,default,pd.html

If you need the larger sizes in metric you could then add on this larger set, it would give you up to 38mm.

http://www.cpooutlets.com/sunex-too...n2839,default,pd.html?start=4&q=sunex spindle

All three sets would end up being 165.47 after rebates and cpo discount.

Because I wanted standard and deep sockets up to 36mm with no skips. So add in the price of the standard metric set and it's only a few bucks cheaper and you're still missing a few sizes. I got what I wanted and it was a good enough deal for me...

I was thinking about ordering all weekend.... Finally tried a little before 11 here & the CPO discount code didn't work.:sad:.
Oh, well. Money I didn't need to spend anyway.

Same here. I was finally biting the bullet and getting the 3580. Went to checkout and it was working until I entered my CC number. It hit 11pm and when it went to go to the next page of checkout, code became invalid. Not really something I had been budgeting for, so probably a good thing.

How has the shipping been from CPO on the Sunex master socket sets? Are people getting orders filled?

I ordered both the SAE and Metric 1/2" master sets on July 2, and only the Metric set # 2569 has shipped. The SAE set # 2568 hasn't shipped yet.

I ordered the 3/8" Metric/SAE combined master set # 3580 on July 6 and it hasn't shipped either. They did ship the filler item, a Milwaukee knife, though.

My credit card has been billed for everything, but the 2568 and 3580 haven't shipped.

I'm hoping that I don't get screwed by CPO like I did on the SK socket deal last week.

I JUST got an email literally as I was reading this post. I ordered July 6th at about 10PM and now two of my 4 items have shipped. The 1/2" Drive Metric Master set and the SX231P impact gun. The 1/2" Drive SAE Master Set and the 3/8" Master Set haven't shipped yet... Seems a bit odd?

When I checked out on the July 4th it said the 2568 set would drop ship from the manufacturer within 5 business days. It said the 2569 set would ship from the CPO warehouse.

Well I finally did it, dropped the coin on the 3580 3/8 kit. I was gonna do the CPO deal but it was still cheaper on ebay by a few bucks.

My 2590 kit arrived yesterday. It's a nice kit. Dare I say it -- the chinesium Craftsman 1/2" kits that I posted in another Hot Deals thread are better. At the price after rebate, the Sunex kit is quite a bargain.

That's not... super encouraging. Anxiously awaiting boatloads of sockets and hoping they are still pretty nice.

Mine made it today. Obviously I haven't used it yet but everything looks great. Hey did anyone else get a $100 off card for the wine depot (something like that). I got some pic's, but PB is screwing the pooch right now, or I am but something is messed up.

I definitely won't believe that until I get mine. I have other Sunex impact sockets and they are top notch... much better than my Craftsman impacts.

While they are different, each difference I can see a reason for. Such as the tapered end vs being able to fit into a tight spot and the flush bottom being able to grab onto more of the driving anvil. I do prefer a the smooth finish of the craftsman over the slightly textures sunex but I see reason behind that as well in getting a better grip when its covered in oil.
I am very impressed with the amount and quality of the sockets for the money.

I am going to try to come up with a way to test them until failure, I will add in some other brands as well.

Who knows?
Cman on Left, Sunex on Right.

22mm

Hey coralnut, would you mind letting us know how they hold up to rust in a few months? I have a bunch of 1/2" Craftsman impact sockets (US made) that rusted up fairly quickly from the humidity in my shop. However, a bunch of beat up old Sunex sockets I have are still going strong with no signs of rust.

I swear by Sunex, the coating on them is superb compared to other similar sockets. Also, compared to those Craftsman sockets, it appears that they are generally thinner walled. Except some Snap On impacts, all my stuff is Sunex. I use them professionally every day and have yet to have a failure (even on my swivels).

I'm so excited! To think I'll have 3 huge socket sets. It's totally nuts.

yep mine looked the same after shipping. Just lifting the case regular and carrying it seems to be fine.

Edit: oh, and I ordered my 3580 set on the 2nd at 6am and it got here today.

Pretty sure the matte finish on the Sunex holds onto oils and grease better (literally gets drawn into the pits of the finish), whereas the shinier Cman is easily cleaned.

Why are hex broachings shallow?

Yeah they make some pretty good stuff imo.

sure, i'll let you know if they get rusty.

Thanks man. It'll be interesting to see if the Chinese Craftsman sockets rust as fast as the US ones did.

Nice! Looks like the 3580 to me. Awesome set.

Gotcha. I'll keep it in mind.

Got my 2569 Metric 1/2" Set and SX231P 1/2" Impact!

First, the Impact:

I have no real experience with impact guns, but it seems pretty nice to me. Feels really hefty in the hand, and the socket secures on it pretty well. Put it on my air compressor quick to oil it and it's actually not very loud.

Now, the 1/2" Sockets:

I was really suprised by how heavy this set is. I guess it makes sense but it still caught me off guard. Mine was actually all in the correct spaces and not a mess like some of the others. It could be that the 3/8" Master set has enough room in the case to get jumbled up. The sockets feel really nice, have a light coating of oil on them and are not only laser etched but have the size pressed into them! I was really hoping for that since the laser etching always wears off on sockets. Now I just need a reason to use them! (Not that I'm wishing for expensive car repairs )

I can't wait to get the other two sets tomorrow and be swimming in awesome impact sockets.

i know a guy who got an impact and started rotating his tires once a week just because he could... until the novelty wore off and he went to back to a sane rotation schedule

last time i put my impact to use was when i changed the blade on my lawn mower... so maybe you should check your blade :D

That Sunex impact gun looks just like an IR 231. I wonder if they copied it and if the specs are the same?

They probably tweaked it a little or they are embellishing it some. The 231 is rated at 450 I think.

My 4 sets arrived finally and I got them all organized last night. I have to say the quality is superb. They look nicer than my Craftsman impacts and are thinner which is nice. I now have way more impact sockets than I need. :lol_hitti

Anyone sent in their rebate form(s) yet that ordered from CPO? You doing one form for multiple sets, and just sending in the packing list as your "original receipt"?

I sent mine in the day after they arrived otherwise I would end up forgetting about it. I ordered two sets.
Sent in the paper receipt that came in the box from cpo, two filled out rebate forms, and both upc cutouts from the boxes.

Hopefully that works as a receipt. I might send that and print one as well. I am going to send in a form for each qualifying item.
