How the hell do I get these SYWR bonus points? Do I have to log into the website or something? I have the iPhone SYWR app, but I never see any bonus in it.

How do I see my surprise point offers like this? If I go to "my profile", I can see all my points/surprise points, but the description/restrictions are never accurate. I have to add items from different departments in my cart to see what departments qualify.

Also, wish I had $30 in surprise points. I'm a VIP Gold member and didn't get this promo.

I go to sywr.com and search "surprise points", this doesnt work on sears .com. It seems kinda random when you get them too.

Created an extra account(s) a few years ago to increase my odds of getting better suprise points. Latest one was pretty sweet $25 off $60 which is more than 40% off.

Edit: Just as I posted this sale item and went to check the URL link, the price jumped to $132. I guess the sale ended. Originally I received an email 18 minutes ago advertising the tool case from sears.

Briefcase style tool case on sale $33 normally $199 Save $167. This is a plastic shell brief case that holds tools.

Chicago Case XLST61 Attache Tool Case 17.5 x 12.5 x 6" 95-8570
Reg: $199.99 | You Save: $167.00
$32.99

BOOKMARK IT!

I did once get a rare surprise points offer to use at the privately-owned franchises after taking a survey about them, but that offer only showed up under the Overview section of my profile on Sears.com.

Gladiator 8ft gearwalls are currently on sale for $89.77 at Sears. Could be a great deal with surprise point and SYW points.

Yeah shop your way points can be confusing some times. Although I was able to get a few hooks and the 48'' gearloft shelf for $2 this morning using surprise points and SYW points. The gearloft shelf was a hot buy.

The weird part about this is it never shows ANY surprise points. I've got $74 in surprise points when I log into sears, but no offers when logged into SYWR. Granted $50 of the $74 is if I spend $500 or more.

Arksen 3Pc Pentagon Hex Brake Socket Set 1/2" Dr. Bendix Girling Smart Brake Calipers
$16.99 from 3rd party with free shipping eligible..

Chinese made and no clue if this is a deal or not. Pentagon sockets? Just an odd-ball item to keep around if for whatever-the-hell need ever rears it's ugly face. No way in hell I believe that list price of $200... Shows $22.85 on Amazon.

At least it comes in it's own little storage case.

Edit: on further investigation in Amazon, I guess a lot of companies make penta-sockets, including Wright and SK.. never seen them before.

Which craftsman rubber garden hoses are the good ones?
None of them

Get apex brand at Lowes or Home Depot.

Lifetime warranty forever. I bought 25 years ago and still warrant out for new ones when they fail.

The black premium ones. Worth the money (especially when they go on sale). I trashed my HD/Lowes hoses after buying these.

Not on sale but I bought it anyway. I need it...

Got a couple points deals, so if you subtract that I got it for around $45 or so.

Thank you.

I have a couple of the Craftsman hoses and I wonder why I bought them.

The rubber is great and the ends are top notch, but the thing is guaranteed to kink as soon as I even think about pulling on it. And it turns my hands black and weighs a ton.

Waaah, waaah, waaaaah!

For the first time i got surprise points that kind of didn't make sense. If i get one its like $10 off $150.

This one was $20 off $20. With the small amount of points i already had, which covered tax.... sure, i'll take a free tool with free syw shipping, lol. Got me a bump starter.

got the same deal 20 off 20, used them on a local site deal where the dewalt 10pc 3/8-15/16" SAE combo wrenches where $24 and the dewalt reversible 10 pc 1/4"-3/4 sae set was 39.99. Some how managed to use only $10 of the points while stacking loaded coupons to get $20 back in points when the total was $54 and change lol. Coupon still shows online but now its $10 off towards a $20 purchase. The dewalt wrenches are pretty damn nice for the money. Wish they had the metric combo set to for that price. They did have the metric reversible set in store but can't find it listed online, might just use the points on those.

The only crappy thing I noticed while in the store is a lot of the loose stock craftsman is now switching over to the china ****, guess the usa old stock is coming to its end soon.

I said the last of, that stuff is way way old. Armstrong is just Apex now which is all the new stuff. Stuff like the ratcheting end wrenches are identical to Gearwrench. And I do mean identical.

What's up with these cheap MasterForce (I think that's the name) wrench sets? Made in China, and on the back of the package it says "distributed by Apex tool group". They look like garbage. Why would Apex attach their name to something like that?

Master Forge is what you are talking about.

MasterForce is Menard's house brand and has a significant portion of USA made tools.

Of all the US tool companies, Apex is the one that I would say is just in business to makes gobs of money. Not that other tool companies aren't doing it for money too, but Apex seems to only care about money and what will get them more. You look at Snap On, SK, Wright, Milwaukee (even though Milwaukee does produce overseas), they are proud of what they engineer and make. I never get that same feeling from Apex.

I agree with you there. Armstrong is nice and most of Gearwrench is nice, but look at brands like Crescent.. they turned into garbage.

Really? Quite honestly I would take the Crescent stuff at Menards over the Masterforce stuff right next to it. It's really really nice for the price.

I take that back.. last week at HD I picked up a 2 pack of Crescent USA made flush cutter/plier set for like $13. The flush cutter looks similar to Xuron stuff. The package looked old, not sure if it's discontinued or not. I wasn't gonna buy it till I noticed that it was USA.

Edit: this set here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002Z9Y07I/?tag=atomicindus08-20
