People on here say stick to Mac or SO when it comes to flare nut wrenches. You can find some pretty good deals on used sets through eBay.They have the flare nut wrenches metric for 18.59![]()
Went to go get em. Still going to purchase the SK 3 piece for 68 from advance auto. SKs any good or are there better ones?

I have been wanting a set of Knipex Cobra pliers. I now see these and have $10 in surprise points. Should I go ahead and order them? The only thing holding me back is searching online I've read some reviews saying they don't have as many positions as the actual Knipex versions. Are these really different or the same minus the logo? I checked them out in the store and they say made in Germany.

You must be reading old reviews. These are identical minus the grip color. Actually the craftsman grips are nicer imho.
Not really sure what you mean by a good deal on Snap On flare wrenches.. unless you consider $150 for 5 wrenches to be a good deal. Kind of hard to compare that price to a $20 set posted here with a lifetime warranty. Granted, these are gonna be Chinese though. Flare wrenches are pretty rugged, you really can't go wrong with a cheaper brand, especially when you factor in the lifetime warranty. Sunex makes some good quality ones also for a decent price.
Personally, I like the SK sets that I picked up recently. 1/3 the price of Snap On, same quality.
Until the cheaper brand Chinese ones start to strip and the metal will spread because it's cheaper.
From this thread: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=227152Tried to edit that can't seem to get it to work. Can you post a picture of the Craftsman knipex clones you got?

point is, the average homeowner isn't spending the money for snap on, and the people who spend the money for snap on don't hang out in the "hot deals" section.
Snap On thread is here:

yeah,
notice how the "nose" in long on yours like a kinepex, but on the picture of the sears website, the nose is short.
yours are the older Craftsman ones. The newer ones are made by someone else.
i think you can see the difference here.

EDIT,
Im not saying there no good at all, but they are different.
I do like the longer nose, probably cause I know it's like the Kinapex.
but might be something to look for if you get them.
I don't think $150 for 5 is a great deal and I agree with what you say on the SK. I think spending a little more and getting the SK or a good set on eBay is the way to go.Not really sure what you mean by a good deal on Snap On flare wrenches.. unless you consider $150 for 5 wrenches to be a good deal. Picked up 2 pair of these last time they were on sale, be aware they are not a real heavy duty jack stand. Fine for what I wanted, I use them under the RV axles to take some of the weight off the tires. Don't think I'd use them on anything I'd be getting under. JMHO.
I got the 1/4 version of these and it is ****. The sockets all fit loose on the ratchet (and on every extension/ratchet/handle I have). Went to sears & that's just how their sockets fit now. Disappointing.probably junk? who knows. but I figure for the price of the ratchet, the sockets are freebies.
