Thanks to all of you for stopping by.

Mason, I can imagine it was. Luckily I've got a plastic one I'm dealing with.

CB, All onboard with it. See your thread.

Mark, It's been a long time coming, but I'd really like to actually use it someday instead of looking at it.

Steve, That old mower just caught my eye. Now I can mow around the mower.:Help:

Cuda, what can I say. Once again you've allowed us boys to have a good time with the Mistress of Metal attached to the fun.

Terrick, That is an image that won't soon come out of my head. (well done)

Strouty, I'll save it for your **** when you come to visit.:)

Taumac and Lyndon, It would be a boring show. Those fishnets are hung next to the man door the customers use. I would have to be very careful not to get caught drooling over them.

Okay guys, now I'm taking silent bids on who's piece gets hung next to the fishnets.:lol_hitti

Hey Dan, I picked up another plate when we were out in the country a few weeks ago (trailer plate) - interested in a swap? - And no; not for CC's Fish Catchers..... :lol_hitti :eyecrazy:

I'm game Lyndon. I actually have a couple of plates that are in better shape than the ones I sent you. But I think I'll do the same as you did and have 1/2 of the pair hanging on my wall so we have another match half a world apart.

Strouty, I don't want one. I would dare to handle it.:spit:

Dan

Get back to work - oh wait, it's Friday - nah, have a coffee and relax!

Ok to the trade if you're interested. This one I probably won't send by International Jet f#$%#$ing courier, if that's ok.... :bounce: :spit: :headscrat :dunno:

Let me know by pm (maybe tomorrow - as I'm about 5 glasses in now on Friday night - but SWMBO is away tomorrow at her Dad's so, plenty of time then)....

Lyndon
Yep - still up! :spit: :beer2:

I lose one lousy hundred dollar bill and now I lose everything too easily.:headshake

Dan, the manager wasn't there and the counter guy looked like a deer in the headlights but I gave him the store name it's going to, your name, my name and my phone number in case they had any problems.

Okay not garage related but a couple more projects that I'm working on. I got the ceiling fan installed in the bedroom that we're remodeling.

Where was 1/2 cup when he was needed?:D

And we got a small window in the bathroom (to be) off the master bedroom.

The cutout

In but not yet trimmed.

And I did get the new top for the Delta 88 on Friday. Now I'll find out if I have the ability to install it and have it look good. There will be photos.

Nines got the seat covers sent out to me so hopefully I'll be seeing those later this week.

Thanks for stopping by folks. Off to hopefully finish the ceiling molding. Then it just some putty and paint. Photos to follow later.

The back of the truck looked to be a handy work platform there Dan.

Is the shingle siding repair under the window hard to do ? Don't see any of that over here.

GB, not too bad of a repair. A little cutting and looking for the proper width from the bundle makes it easier. The bundles have many different widths in them. I'll snap a picture to show you.

1/2 cup, no problems at all. Although I'm no sparky, I understand the basics enough so I've never (knock on wood) got into any trouble or set fire to any electrical devices.:shocking:

Thanks for checking in guys.

Thanks Shorty. I did get the carpets in yesterday. I just need to finish the door bottom on the passengers door. Believe it or not, that carpet on the door bottom is supposed to be green.

Looks good. Hard to believe the carpet turned from green to brown. It will look nice once you get the seat covers and seat installed.

With the new interior you'll be stylin to the nines.

Any significance to your Olds? Besides who wouldn't want to ride around in an Olds rag top.

Carpet came out great DLC! If you want to try to renew the carpet on the doors or any of the plastics, try "SEM vinyl/carpet dye" it comes in a spray can like ordinary rattle cans but it's made for auto interiors.

Hey Dan, I caught up on your latest posts.

The back of the truck looked to be a handy work platform there Dan.

GB

I can relate to using the truck as a work platform - I have only ever had one solitary saw-horse (I built it to the same height as the tail-gate of the ute that I had at the time).

The only shingles we see here are at the entrance to a doctor's office.

I also noticed that there is no guttering around the edge of the roof - I think that's a cold climate thing? :dunno:

And I see a window just above ground level - basements are virtually non-existent here.
I have always thought that it would be so cool to have a basement (particularly one with a secret tunnel - leading to the bat cave!).

I love comparing the differences (and the similarities) of different regions.

...Although I'm no sparky, I understand the basics enough so I've never (knock on wood) got into any trouble or set fire to any electrical devices.:shocking:

There's another difference - it's actually illegal here to do your own electrical work.
Which doesn't really bother me because I have a welder to set fire to stuff (grass, my pants, etc.)

...Believe it or not, that carpet on the door bottom is supposed to be green.

I believe it, I've had black carpet fade to that same brown (it's possibly approaching the natural hue of the un-tinted carpet).

At the rate your going, you'll be doing some top-down cruising before the end of Summer.

I look forward to your updates of shop, house or car (they're all good).

Thanks guys. Let me try and not forget to answer each of you.:willy_nil

Shorty, no significant meaning. I always wanted a full sized convertible and that one came along at the right time in my life. And after buying it, I found out that only 5000 of them were produced so it became a little more special to me. (I wonder how many are still around?):dunno:

Nines, thank you. That means a lot to me to here YOU say that.

CB, Taumac, Strouty, thanks guys. I appreciate you taking the time to even follow along on my thread.

Mark, It is certainly interesting to note the differences that we have. Over here (the happy homeowner) can damn near do anything he wants to in his own house. But the insurance companies are the police when it comes to what they will allow and make you do. ie one must have a rail on there deck (ask me how I know) And there are "code enforcement officers" in each town that make sure things are safe.
When you have a commercial building, things are a little different. Any electrical update must be signed off by a licensed Master Electrician. Not saying one can't hang a light fixture, but the entrance must be inspected and okayed before the power companies will hook you up. (That applies to residential buildings as well)
Yes I have a full basement in my house but there is a sump pump and dehumidifier down there because it is not moisture free. So extra space but not exactly living space. Used more for storage of things that are not subject to being ruined by dampness.

Lyndon, what he just said^;)

Again, thanks guys. More Delta 88 pictures coming soon.

I didn't know if you guys might like to see one of my projects from a couple of years ago. Although I explained to this customer that this Trail Blazer was totaled, she wanted it fixed. So who am I to refuse someone's money.

A little cut here and there. Weld on a new front end.

2014-08-20_07-02-17_114.jpg

A little more sanding and a coat of paint

And as they say.........That should buff right out.

Thanks guys (Not you Strouty) Actually I used to do a lot of autobody at another shop I owned. But the years have taken a toll on my eyes and lungs. And I don't have a spay booth with piped in o2 so I try to stay away from the painting thing as much as possible. That being said, I do plan on painting the Delta 88 when it's ready. And you'll all get to see how it comes out. So Craig, yes I do paint here even though it's not the ideal situation to do it in. It's kinda wait for the right day with the wind in the right direction and open the door to create a nice vacuum to **** the paint fumes out. It's my proved method for a better paint job without a booth. Very little dust in the paint that way.:dunno: It works for me.:eyecrazy:

Don, I don't have a clue where it was from, but I'd like to have a full sized poster of it to hang in the shop. I just don't know how that could offend anyone. It was done very professionally.

Mason, that kind of warmth so be everywhere.
