They say no warranty, because its a "991" merchandise, dunno

its 50% off already

Weird. I was told by one of the workers that I had no warranty on the clearance stuff. Cashier told me when she was ringing my router that I could buy warranty. Manager was right behind her and he said I had option of buying warranty and that I also had 30 day warranty on the used/clearance item from Sears.

Worked out for me. My router was 75% off too. Got a killer deal.

so whos are you buying, or recommend?

I use Gearwrench flex head flare nut wrenches. Actually I think mine are husky branded, but HD doesn't carry the flex head anymore. They're both made by Apex.

A lot of people recommend SK but they're quite a bit more expensive.

If you decide on SK, look on eBay. You can usually find decent prices on "like new" sets.

Or look for the older Craftsman Professional (must say USA) because they were made by SK. That's what I have, they are nice wrenches. I got mine on ebay for a good price.

Check your surprise points, everybody. I just got $10 in surprise points on any DeWalt purchase. I don't think that I ever got a brand-specific offer before.

These points are appearing on Sears.com, but NOT shopyourway.com.

Very strange.

I got this email too but it doesn't work at all. I added some DeWalt product in cart but no surprise points pop up.
Is it a $10 off $10? maybe $10 off $500?

I don't know if there is a minimum, but it works for me on this:
http://www.sears.com/dewalt-dcd771c...p-00927452000P?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1

but not on this:
http://www.sears.com/dewalt-40-piec...p-00944897000P?prdNo=8&blockNo=8&blockType=G8

The drill is not a bad deal if you have SYW max and are willing to pay out of pocket to get points back. I am showing about $35 in points back with three separate points back offers that stack, so with the surprise points it costs about $90 - $35 points back or $55 net.

If anyone finds any low cost items that the Dewalt surprise points work on, please post here.

The surprise points should appear on either the Sears or Shopyourway sites.

The cart should show $9.99 in surprise points available for this:

These DeWalt surprise points were a bit perplexing. :headscrat

I had given up and decided not use them, but later SYW customers service found this list and emailed it to me:

I have $5 off $20. Any thoughts in tools. I am running out of ideas and have plenty of tool bags.

Yea I had $5.** in points, some were expiring soon, and I couldn't find anything I needed either. Ended up just getting a 5 piece screwdriver set. If I had like $20 or more, I'd spring for a Knipex's pliers wrench.

Found a creative use of the DeWalt Points.

DeWalt Nicad XRP Two Pack: $99.99 as a Hot Buy:

http://www.sears.com/dewalt-dc9096-2-18-volt-xrp-2.4/p-00912011000P?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1

Currently, they are offering 50% back in points on battery purchases. With a bunch of other discounts, and using $5 of points that were expiring soon, I got the price down to $90.30. $79.34 back in points. So basically, $10.

These sell for around $80-90 on ebay pretty consistently. Will flip to get my money back and net the points. And about $5 back in upromise savings.

Here is all the fine print on the discounts:

why do you people always Got to BRAG!!
Great, Got it for $10.00,
Then I"I sell it"
Like this guy that got a # 8 Stanley plane on another website, for $2.00.
We all said, hey, good score,
Then He has to BRAG, I sold it for $100.00>
Sorry, just My Pet Peeve.

While I would normally agree with you on the gloating aspect of some posts, I do not think that was tjpavlov's intent with this post. He posted information that is still easily replicated by anyone at this point. (Selling or keeping the batteries)

Thank you for the heads up on all the points Sears is currently giving back on battery packs. I was able to get a Craftsman C3 battery for around $7.50 when you factor all the points I got back.

Sorry, wasn't meant to brag at all. These are batteries for a system that I don't need since I don't have any Dewalt Nicad tools. The post was meant to show one way to use the points in an efficient way. From the list that was put up, it looked like the only way to use the points was higher-cost tools. My deal was a way of basically turning the $10 in points into $80 in points. There are a lot more people who can replicate this deal than can actually use those batteries, in my estimation.

I know some of you think that seeing the 3-pc Craftsman pry bar set on clearance means that they will all be replaced with foreign-made equivalents.

Before you go and stockpile all those old USA sets, take a look at these photos:

Sears is having their Family and Friends sale, so tools that are not Hot Buys will have an extra 10% off and extra 5% back in points. In-store on Sunday, but online thru Tuesday.

That is interesting, are they introducing a new USA model that uses the same part numbers?
