I never thought I should, but due to this thread and others I now realize that I must clock screws correctly.
So with lots and lots of practice, and I even used phillips head screw just to make it a little harder, but I feel that I have now perfected the best looking "Clocked screws".
Or at least I thought I had, there is always one screw that wont comply with the rest.

Then just to make sure they looked really good, I painted all of them!

Gazza, that is GOLD

:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

Now you have really set the bench mark, just awesome...

Now se what you've gone and done 1/2 cup.:wtf: Lives will be changed forever.

Dan, yep and very proud of that too:thumbup::thumbup:

Have a great day, signing off in the knowledge my work is done now and with a huge smile on my face...:D

1/2: i'm really surprised there isn't any comments since you posted these pictures of those cute puppies (not rodents yet). i bet they are just fun to hold.

2 new grandsons and 4 new puppies is really pulling at your strings on which ones to hold isn't it?

good luck with Andrew's engine install too.

drives, possibly because they have not reached garage dog status as yet..:)

They are really cute and already and are showing signs of attitude plus.

Even though their eyes aren't open yet they are like little squeaky toys and wiggle about if you pick them up with Evie looking on just to be sure you don't hurt them as any mother would.

Both grandsons Aiden and Isaac are doing well also:thumbup:

Andrew has had his work Christmas outing today:beer: and by the way he sounded on the phone tonight as he asked his mum to drive him home he will need the week end to recover and not a lot will get done unless I get my To Do List out of the way.

Very cute pups. I showed my wife the first litter when you had them. I told her there was another litter and she said no pictures because they are so adorable.

Sorry to hear about Mrs. 1/2. At least she has a great doctor. Wait a minute. Not much on the to do list. Will you be playing "doctor" this weekend. ;)

Precious puppies. I started to post several times about them, but kept winding up with sarcastic remarks in my post (how does that happen?).

So this will be short, like the pups:rocker::rocker::rocker::rocker:

Oh, and sorry to read about Mrs. 1/2.

I guess while she's on 1/2 duty you'll do her 1/2 and your 1/2 of the 1/2 tasks in the 1/2 household. If you do well enough she may 1/2 heartedly heal, electing to enjoy watching her husband do 1/2 work.

It occurred to me why you two do so well in the garden: when it comes time to dig, I've always heard two 1/2's make a hole.:banhim:

So is the Show Us Ya Wheels on the to go to list this weekend ? If so we need photos.

HOTFR8, still not sure whether I will get there at this point in time. if I do there will be pics for sure..

shorty the pups are just so hard to resist.

Their father returns home to Finland this week, he will leave a lasting legacy for sure..

Mrs 1/2 Cup has an MRI scan this week to see what the issue really is I don't need to play doctor but just help out where I can..

Short and sweet..way to go..

Andy, something like a ligament tear does take time to heal, I am hoping that it does not require surgery. She is getting about but very gingerly I might add.

I look at the situation like this to be honest.

I will have to get my backside into gear :rocker: and fill the Cup and if that Cup should runeth over I become 1 1/2 Cup

Enjoy you week end and thank you for your visit..

Steve, I hope Julie hasn't actually torn a ligament in her knee. I did that when I was about 12 and they put me in a full (straight) leg cast for close to 6 months. The doctor told me it would have been better for me to break the leg because it heals so much faster. The good news is that it did heal completely and I haven't had any lasting problems. I learned to ride a bike one-legged so that was a bonus!

Bob, I think it is more a stain than a tear, not sure. The MRI should confirm things one way or another..

HOTFR8, I have prior experience as a grave digger, well almost any way.

The story goes like this, my Dad was on our local cemetery trust in my teens the resident grave digger moved from the district so a mate and my self put up our hands to do the digging until someone was found to fill the role. Being a really good paying job it was a fairly attractive deal for us young blokes at the time. Sadly ( or fortunately ) no one passed away when the local council stepped in a few months down the track..

I do know the deal..:needpics:

Mrs 1/2 Cup has torn, stained or done something to her knee and she is hobbling around like a lame duck at the moment.:dunno:

Thanks for dropping by and will keep things up to date..

Have a good one..

HOTFR8, a grave digger with no experience...:lol_hitti

Mrs 1/2 Cup is just taking thing easy that said she did manage to get the groceries this morning and says her knee feels a little better today. So here's hoping...

Please tell Mrs. 1/2 we are all pulling for her to make a full and quick recovery.

(not the first hole I've dug myself into)

Andy, message passed on, thank you..

:lol_hitti

 Maybe, but you do need to dig yourself out.

HOTFR8, its too hot here today to be digging holes, I have just barely made it through the lawns the lawns this morning..

It looks like we will crack the 100 f here tomorrow..:shocking:

I thought to my self " self its time to retreat to the Shed Downunder, crank up the A/C, switch on the TV and watch the last V8 Supercars race of the year in Sydney"..

I should get some QST in on the Rover K Series...:3gears:

All, just as I was finishing the above post I received a phone call from Andrew a few minutes ago.........

Grandson No. # 3 arrived to the world at 4.06 am this morning.:rocker:

Aiden Robert
is a healthy 9 lb 1 oz.

Both Amy and Aiden are doing well.

Andrew is one proud dad or be it a very tired one..

More to follow later..

A very belated congratulations Steve, to you and your family.

I am obviously very far behind in my thread reading, I usually don't comment until I catch up to the present - but I thought that this one deserved an "instant" comment.

Hot enough here now so I may just watch the Supercars as well. Spent 50 minutes on the mower here but can only mow what is green.

HOTFR8, Well I have had a mixed afternoon, a few itinerant visitors then Andrew, Amy and young Aiden dropped in:thumbup:
Andrew and I spent the afternoon stripping the suspension out of the MGF subframe while Amy and Mrs 1/2 Cup fussed over Aiden inside.

TV on the V8 s and A/C on in the Shed it was quite nice..:3gears:

Watering lawns to keep them green here, its drying out oh so quickly..

1/2, just curious. Has the doc suggested any therapy. I have found that just walking in the pool with the water up to my waist was really helpful. Myself, DW and a few of my friends have and knee and hip surgery and they all say the same thing. The water lifts and supports every part of you and makes the exercise part more beneficial. I have a 42 staple scar from my surgery, and it was hard to get into it at first. On the 3rd day a lady about 85 and the size of a 8 year old child stiffly stick walked up to the edge of the pool and just let herself fall in. I gasped and went to help her, but, by the time I had done about 4 steps she was up and powering down the pool. I could not keep up with her, I talked to her later and she told me about her arthritis and said that it is the only time she is NOT in pain, is when she is in the pool.
So ask the doc if this will benefit her ailment.

Certainly got your hands full 1/2 Cup. Hope everything turns out okay for your wife.

Thank you Hewey, Mrs 1/2 Cup had a better day yesterday, still getting about ok but very gingerly.

Steve tell the missus we will put her on the prayer list for the knee. I know how she feels. Bobby

Bobby, thank you and very much appreciated..
You are right there, you of all people will truly know how it feels.

BTW how are you progressing??

Terrick, to answer your question the only thing the doc has suggested is to stay off it as much as possible, wading in a pool would most certainly aid her recovery and I will pass that on, thank you. Appreciated..

All, just a quick one .

My Dad mentioned in conversation yesterday that the local Aero Club were having a breakfast this morning ( I was a bit keen to get to the Show Us Ya Wheels and Swap ) anyway I received a phone call at 7 am this morning asking if I was coming, torn between a rock and a hard place I ended up going to the break fast.

As usual there were fly in visitors from all over the place as well as a few members of the Cranksters car club dropped ( on their way to the show and shine ) in making it a fantastic morning.
After an all you can eat cooked breakfast followed up with pancakes, fruit salad and ice cream I don't think I will need much for lunch..

1/2: i hope Mrs. 1/2 is ok. knee and almost any body part having an issue is tougher at our ages now. especially with all that you and Mrs. 1/2 have going on. there are maybe a few other options that haven't been mentioned to help a knee injury. there is some tape the Olympic athletes were putting on injuries and i think there is also a liquid to put on to help maybe give some pain relief too.

when you go to an airport and see all those cool small planes does it get your blood pumping to fly again? BTW when was the last time you flew?

I'm still crossing fingers and toes for a good paying tenant and hopefully a good neighbor too!!

Drone flying or plasma cutting on your TO DO LIST at work this week?

cheers

1/2 Cup I love them old aircraft. I would like one more project before I check out and that is to restore a WWI Tiger moth (D84 DE Havilland I believe). I don't want to buy one all done as it would be too expensive and not as much fun. If you know of, or hear of, one please PM me with the details. My initial training was as an aircraft mechanic (four year apprentice graduate to flight line/plane captain) almost fifty years ago. I got the bug to build one when I was in Brisbane back in 1991 and flew a one hour stunt flight in one. Bobby

Best wishes to Mrs. 1/2 Cup and her recovery; been there and done that and needed arthroscopic surgery. Thank God I was only 27. Went back to work a week later with a full leg brace( really stupid thing to do) but now I have a built in early warning weather station. Congrats on the new grandson( I'll never have any, but our niece has a 15 month old son we can dote on as much as we like)!

Done mowing and watering for this year. We had our first frost last week.

drives, you are 100% spot on there. The healing process does take quite a lot longer as you get older for sure. Mrs ½ Cup is certainly improving on a daily basis now. I will be interesting to see what the MRI shows up.:headscrat

I guess there is a bit of a message in all of this, when you look at Bobby’s injury as well and that is ( to quote our manual handling training at work ) to “ work with in your circle of safety” and that is applicable to all ages..

I do get out to the airport and Aero Club occasionally and have not flown for about 5 years ( drone excluded ) but it certainly wets the appetite to get back in the air. I spoke at length with the Instructors yesterday on this very subject.
There has been some significant changes in regards to flight crew licencing, so my old ratings and endorsements need to be transitioned to fit the new Regulations and that can be a two months process which I will kick off in the not too distant future.
All I need to do is pass an Aviation Medical and then complete a Biannual Flight review which is basically an assessment with an instructor of your aviation skills which is an hours flight time.
The training you have as a student gets so ingrained it’s like riding a bike and something you never forget. I would be a little rusty at first but feel reasonably confident that I would manage it ok.;)

Well the work TO DO LIST is pretty ho hum this week to be honest.

I have been seconded at short notice by our sister organisation The CONNECTIONS PROJECT to provide technical input from both an Electrical and Mechanical prospective.

This will take me off line for a month or so from my regular duties, so this week I will be trying to get my head around a 480 page Request for Tender document that went to market in October which is part of the Reset Delivery Plan that aims to modernise Irrigation infrastructure.

Information on the project can be found here:

http://www.connectionsproject.com.au/

So there is lots of reading to be done.

I have had to cancelled my Auto Cad Electrical training that was scheduled for three days this week which I was quite looking forward to actually.

No plasma, I am leaving that to our graduate engineer as I have given him some “ training exercises’ to do” .

I have scheduled Drone training for Thursday morning, that stays on the calendar.

We are getting oh so close with the tenant evaluation for the West Wing, I must say the Property Manager has done a spot on job so far and she does not take any prisoners let me tell you..

Bobby, me to and have had that fascination for as long as I can remember. The Tiger Moth is a DH 82A the DH 84 is a Dragon Rapide. The DeHaviland Tiger Moths just ooze character and really personify the pre war era and were used largely as a training aircraft during WW2 out here.
There is always a few on the market out here.

http://www.aviationadvertiser.com.au/new_search.php?do_search=Search&catid_search=138

http://hars.org.au/2009/05/de-havilland-dh-82-tiger-moth-vh-dhv/

Unreal, I can relate to having a bug like that and wold dearly love to do the same.

The Tiger Moth is a real “ Pilots Aircraft “ and like a Cessna 150 a WW2 pilot once told me “ ½ Cup if you can fly these you can fly anything “ to that end flying either aircraft is a new experience every time you fly them.

Thank you for your visits and I trust your week goes well.

Ric, thank you for your best wishes & thoughts and I will pass them on.

I am really hoping that she does not need surgery.

Children, grand kids and young ones do need dotting on and we get so much pleasure out of that, like you do with your niece:thumbup:

We are into watering big time as it is stating to dry out here. I try to make the best of when I water to conserve as much as possible.

With the mowing it has become a weekly chore as mine is what I call cultured weeds and if I don't keep it up it does tend to look not the best. :shocking:

Looked to be a great breakfast. That Holden Monaro seems to have a bit of a Dodge look about it. I know Holden is GM, nice looking car!

Andy, it certainly was, great company, great aircraft and great cars..

The Holden Monaro is a truly iconic Aussie car and they fetching some huge $$$ now.
