What's the lowest it dips to?

I was looking into reviews of this set, and one reviewer said he got them for $25.99, back in 2013:

http://thetoolreviewguy.blogspot.com/2013/06/craftsman-professional-3-piece-curved.html

I'm thinking of padding my order out to $40 with an 8-inch Crescent adjustable wrench ($9.90 right now) and a carpenter's pencil, so that I can use $7 of surprise points that expire tomorrow.

Anybody have a better idea for $10.01 worth of stuff from Sears?

Not sure how much I trust their points. I never got the $5 back for buying the tool box liner roll at $9.99. It's not worth pursuing (so I'll just ***** about it)

Ah, that *****? I just ordered a set

when did you but them/?

Where are you seeing $6 back in points on the Double-X pliers? For me it just says "Earn 170 points", which I guess is $0.17?

sorry for the confusion. it is not "get 6$ in points back", i had "6$ in points towards a sears or kmart purchase of 6$ or more." surprise offer. every two or three weeks i get something like that. i tend to leave stuff in my cart, and my save for later, which may cause them to do stuff like this.

of course, i also get two or three emails day from sears, showyourway, and craftsman, so it is not exactly free. . . . .

Still, that's a pretty awesome deal. I paid $32 for the identical Gearwrench branded pliers set last year, and I don't use them often but when I need them they're great to have. Also when I drop something behind my cabinet.

yes, it is quite a deal. i believe crescent is an apex company like gearwrench is, so i imagine they are the same tool.

I bought 2 rolls and got $10 points. Maybe try the online chat? Easy enough to do in the background while you're browsing GJ

That does look nice! That kit would make a great present, maybe I'll grab one for a friend who has a japanese car.

Have any of you ever won anything from the sweepstakes?

Of the $12.53 about $1.75 was from playing game points, $10 was surprise points off $25 purchase, and the rest points from purchase a couple days ago.

OTOH if I am waiting for something anyway, beats reading the news.

You could get a decent ratchet for $19.99 and get 50% back in points (I think you would end up with your $10 in points back).

Craftsman 16pc 3/8" Drive Metric Socket Wrench Set with 75T Ratchet

I really considered this. It's good value for money, but what's going on with the case? It's almost twice the size it needs to be, and I can't figure out why. My only though is that a bigger case gets better results in brick and mortar retail. I certainly hope that's not the story here.

Picked up the last professional pry bar set off the shelf at my local store. Priced at $51.99, but price-matched to $29.99 from Sears.com. With SYWR points ended up at $20.40 out-the-door.

Yep, I've got the fractional counterpart. I think the case just makes it look like "more."

Looking at the specs it tops out at 18mm. Dumb. The fractional set is actually cool 'cause it goes to 1", which is rare in 3/8" drive, especially in these smaller standalone sets.

Also, this "Reach and access" set seems like a decent deal at $30. You get 16 long-reach ball-end hex bit sockets, 6 extensions of various sizes and a couple of U-joints. It's marked down from $100, not that that means anything.

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-24pc-reach-and-access-add-on-set/p-00930024000P

I picked up that, along with the drive and torx set. I have most of it already, but it's a good deal to get everything. It would cost as much trying to complete my current set. http://www.sears.com/craftsman-42-piece-1-4-and-3-8-inch-drive/p-00934845000P?rrec=true

Got $5 off, $10 back in bonus points, and 4% cashback on ebates.

I know what you mean, that does look like a waste... I have this one (linked below) and in the "storage" area I keep a couple spare extensions...

I have this kit. Good price and the mid reach hex and torx sockets are very useful. But, I agree that the case is way oversized. I put the socket extensions and universal joints with my other socket accessories so I'm not even using half the case.

Considered cutting the case and just putting the hex/torx sockets in a drawer but it's going to look stupid cut in half IMO. For now, they're in the case in a cabinet since they're not used that often.

Remember you can take an OMT to these blow-molded cases and customize them a lot. I actually yanked the 75T ratchet for the shop, threw in an old coarse-tooth Proto and had to notch the lid so it would close over the older thicker ratchet. Then I tossed it in my Ranger.

Said I got 250 points, but ended up with 4000. Okay sears... no complaints though!

They put up another doorbuster flag on it, but this time I only got $1 in points for entering. So I got $4 from both doorbusters.

Extra entry codes:
Hol1DayW1n
Celebr8

Plus I won $1.50, so a total $5.50 from this one game. :willy_nil

Black was allways cheaper I got the blue. I have 3 of these orange, green, and now blue. I got them to go around my craftsman pub table they sell. At least they had the table in there line. do not know if they discontinued it.

Have you guys had good luck with the craftsman chairs? I bought one back in November (black friday) and returned it same day because the cylinder was garbage and the top seat/cylinder section would not seat correctly into the base/legs. Maybe I got a bad apple?

I have had two of the Craftsman seats for at least the last three years and have not had an issue with either one of them

Maybe. I've had mine for three years now and no problems yet. But I may have just gotten the unicorn haha.

I've got 7 of them and they're fine. Although honestly I don't think I ever use the cylinder. I got most of mine around '07 so it's entirely possible they've done revisions to make them ****-tastic, but I can't say either way.

This is my kitchen, although we've since replaced the stupid carpet w tile. I have three more chairs at the bar on my deck

If you no longer see a store location for pickup when ordering online, then expect a liquidation in the near future.

Sears Holdings won't release an official list, so the following list is probably incomplete:

http://www.businessinsider.com/list-of-sears-and-kmart-stores-closing-2016-12

Interesting.....

If i enter my zip code for my local store it shows no options, BUT if i enter in the neighboring zip code (which has its own sears store), it shows my local store as a pickup option..... I'll have to keep an eye on this i guess.

Yeah their site is weird like that though. Try other items. Sometimes the website will show my Hometown store as a pickup option. Sometimes it shows OOS at that same store. Other times it defaults to nearest corporate store & makes no mention of my Hometown store.

I know what you mean, the one on display at my local Sears, Watching, NJ, had a bad cylinder and was pretty junky and rickety. Never looked at them after that, always wondered why guys were so gaga for these. Guess it was just a lemon, but why use it as a display.

Darn. That list has my local Sears on it. It's the only one that's convenient for me to ever go to.

Does anyone have any advice on what the liquidation process looks like? I've heard that everything gets marked up and then slowly marked down.

Do the closing stores still have in store pickup available until they close?

The jacket is decent and definitely worth the $30 or less price. The zipper is stiff and it should break in. Nice and warm too.

Just got my jacket in today. Total was $33.60 shipped to my door. Jacket looks and feels phenomenal for that price. Looking forward to the next cold snap so I can put it through its paces.
