Darn. That list has my local Sears on it. It's the only one that's convenient for me to ever go to.
Does anyone have any advice on what the liquidation process looks like? I've heard that everything gets marked up and then slowly marked down.
Do the closing stores still have in store pickup available until they close?
Is your local store still showing up as a pickup option on the website?
Many non-Sears shoppers who are clueless about normal sale pricing will show up, and the liquidation specialist knows this. Expect everything to be reset to the regular full price.
We all know that the $99.99 Gearwrench 20pc ratcheting wrench set is usually on sale for $49.99 (50% off). If the liquidator starts with 10% off on tools, then the set will be $89.99. People can go nuts when they see 25% off, so the sets may start flying off the shelf at $74.99. A regular in this thread would probably wait for it to go below $49.99, but good luck finding any by then.
Store fixtures have more potential being a good deal for small businesses. The more items you're willing to bundle, the better your position when haggling.
