For price matching, if you have the receipt you can get the price corrected within the return window.

If they refuse to price match, tell them you want to return it. then buy it again at the new low price.

Boom, price matched.

No, you didn't miss out. Our local Sears store is closing also. They came I and raised everything back up to MSRP. By the time it gets to 50 or 60 percent off, the prices are back down to what Sears normally charged. They had the 20 piece Gearwrench set for 50% off - the price was $49.99. That's the price that set usually sells for there. So definitely don't feel bad lol.

I ran into someone I know at a store that was closing and he was tellinge how great of a deal that set was when priced at $64.99. I didn't have the heart to tell him it's on sale all the time for $50.

For some odds and ends that don't normally go on sale, 20-30% off is ok. It's almost all gone now, and most things aren't yet 50% off. What they did do was bring in a bunch of USA NOS and Industrial stuff that was never carried in store. I scored a couple of pretty decent deals there.

That is fine if you bought it without coupons or surprise points or points back. If so, then Boom, points or coupon lost! Who here is buying stuff from sears without some points deal?

My Sears is closing as well - been in twice in the last two weeks - once at 10% off and the prices were outrageous (agree with the above), higher than I've ever seen. Last week they were 20-30% off and honestly for the prices and the fact that almost everything is Chinese I left both times without buying a thing.

YOU KNOW THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WHEN I CANT FIND ANYTHING TO BUY IN A TOOL DEPARTMENT.:lol_hitti

Anybody else with a Sears closing see any of this Industrial stuff? I'm not sure if they brought it in or carried it at the attached parts and repair center, but it wasn't carried in this store before.

Yes. My local Sears has a bunch of Craftsman Industrial 3/4" drive hex impact sockets in huge sizes and also some black oxide doe wrenches. I also found a few nos sets of Craftsman Industrial reversible ratchet wrenches at prices higher than Snap On lol.

I bet that Gladiator Storage Rack in the background was also jacked back up to $299, before any store closing discount. Though it is was $149 + ~$30 points for a couple weeks recently.

No 10mm? The set seems to be missing a few other sizes as well.

read the reviews.

"The sizes are 8,10,12-15,17,19. The description lists 9mm instead of 10mm. Also, the total set weight is 4.2 pounds, not 42. Wrench lengths: 19mm - 15-3/4in, 17mm - 14-3/4in, 15mm - 12-3/4in, 14mm - 12in, 13mm - 11-1/4in, 12mm - 10-3/4in, 10mm - 9-1/2in, 8mm - 8-3/4in."

Haven't seen those before, but they look pretty useful, so I ordered a set. Thanks for the heads up.

I just picked these today from my local sears. Had a gift card and free points....$12 out the door....all Made In USA!

I have the right kit and it works great.

I went to their site to look for the other kit and couldn't find them. Are these discontinued now?

The kit on the left is very high quality, turbo sockets IIRC.

On the right is rebadged Irwin

:dunno:

I've always been under the impression that AJ Manufacturing was the OEM of those kits - 0200C same as # 52166

We currently provide our products to a number of customers including Snap-on Tools, Matco Tools, MAC Tools, Sears, and Wal-Mart as well as a number of WD’s throughout the United States.

The products we manufactured are all made in the United States at our own facility located in Elmhurst, Illinois. AJ Manufacturing Co., Inc. uses a higher grade of material and more involved finishing processes than our competitors

I just bought two of these wrenches, 10mm and 12mm, costed me $20 for each. Seems better to buy a set.

Three #2 Phillips and no #3. Grrrrr. Who puts these sets together?

Depending upon the market they target #3 might be not needed. I think the CM sets have always had a mix biased towards slotted tips

My Sears that is closing also recently stocked these Industrial tools. But nowhere near as many as in the pic. One or two of everything, including the black oxide wrenches.

One thing that has reappeared are the Craftsman Ball Grip Screwdrivers. These were the Christmas special in 2015, I believe. They were made by Vessel in Japan and are fantastic. There are tons in my store and hadn't been any in probably a year. They are listed as $10/each and are falling with the discounts. We are at 50% now, so $5/each out the door. I think that after Christmas in 2015, they got down to $2.50/each. I don't think that you are going to see these again.

Check here for more info:

Any comparable in another brand to make a more complete set?

they seem a good buy at like $50 net and lower...Today they are at $38 net.

$59+1 for pencil = $60

12 off 60 points deal on SYW
10% points granted
Free ship over $30
So its $48 with $5 points and a $5 off $5 at Kmart or Sears = $10/$10 = free stuff.
That's net $38 for the wrench set.

edit: current deal math for today, YMMV

I could have used those last weekend when I changed a set of four motor mounts on my car. Might have to get a set. A couple of the nuts/bolts I had to use open end wrenches on to get at, and could have used the extra long handles with extra leverage.

Good assortment of common sizes for automotive work. Looks to be the same tools as the Gearwrench XL wrenches. The Gearwrench is more complete, each and every mm from 8 to 19, but that set is over $200.

Where are you getting "$45 more for 5 more wrenches"?

8 pc for $60 (before Sears monkey business) is $7.50 per wrench, but you can get it down lower with surprise points, coupons etc.

21 pc for $160 at ntxtools.com is $7.60 per wrench.

$45 more than the two similar Craftsman sets priced at 60+60=$120. Points of course could affect the Sears price.

Just thought I'd give some people complaining about the incomplete set a more complete set at a comparable price.

personally, i have stopped counting "earned" points in my calculations:

1) it means i have to find something else to buy

2) they dont appear immediately

3) sometimes they dont seem to appear at all.

and, i agree with you. i would rather get the gearwrench set, even if the additional wrenches are a bit more per wrench. it is likely only me, but it seemed that i was always looking for the one size [wrench|socket] i didnt seem to have.

i remember not having a 10MM anything, and it seemed that the motorcycle i had just bought was exclusively put together with 10mm fasteners. thinking about it now, that is likely the source of my fetish for only wanting complete sets now . . .
