My store is very fast at Store pickup, usually minutes.

I always order for store pickup, then go over and scan my phone, and the guy walks out in seconds with my product, and pretty much they all know me because I do that so much.

Now everything is China. But the last couple years when their was a mix of old stock USA and new stock China, the picker that saw my name on the ticket would actually dig through all the stock and look for USA pieces to pull for me. Great service, but I fear that will soon come to an end...

you guys are very lucky. mine can take hours at Sears.

The local kmart is even worse as it can go half the day to 24 hours as I think they are cutting down employees here to bare bones.

My pick up in store usually takes about 2.5 minutes on average. Pretty good. If I were super lazy I'd download the app so that they bring it out to my car, but I'm either to lazy to get the app or not lazy enough to expect someone to bring it too me.
Thanks to the $22 dollar points, I ordered some geartrack stuff to organize the garage and got another $5 off $10 purchase so I can order another geartrack piece for half price.

I guess I was lucky, I told the guy at the counter he went and looked it up and did a price match at the register.

Sorry, I posted because my store actually has them this time around.

That's still a pretty good price.
Please quit tempting me.............................:beer::evil:
EDIT
here we go again, My store has them..................what to do, what to do??
I GOT IT........................................ Had $4.00 in points I used anyhow.

so, do you regret buying the tools more often, or do you regret not buying them more often?

therein lies your answer:evil::evil:.
.........:evil::evil::evil::evil:

Mmmm... I've been known to say, "Damnit, I already have 3 sets of these, why am I looking at another?!?!?!"
I NEVER SAID THAT (Actually Im Proud of my self, I didn't buy something a few times, just cause it was a good price..........:rocker:
aaahhhh, but do you regret owning three? will you regret owning four? NEVER.......LOVE IT..............LOL

how many ratchets does one person need? how many do they want?

therein lies your answer.

No worries. I was just sharing my disappointment out loud.
Another deal will be around.

What do you get out of this 3 foot prybar that you couldn't get out of a crowbar? The smaller prybars make sense because they fit into places that larger prying tools wouldn't. But when you go to 3 feet, I think an expensive crowbar makes a lot more sense because you can use it in so many places. We can probably all imagine one use where that might not be true but to spend money on something this size and keep it around because you may hypothetically need it at some unspecified time in the future, makes no sense to me.
You're in the wrong Group.............LOL............
The 3 foot one is prettier.......:D

Thanks! My local store had one available. Had a few points, so I nabbed one for $11.99.

Good Job

Ok SYW screwed me over on this. I swear it showed me paying the $59.99 less $15.28 in points before tax.......after tax shoulda been $46.00 or $46.01 (state sales tax only).

But they charged me the full $59.99.

I know I'm not always the sharpest when it comes to understanding how they calculate points (and indeed the $6 in points I earned was 10% of the order total which is why it confused me - I should only earn 10% on what I pay out of pocket), but I'm a savvy shopper and I know what I'm paying before I click that "submit order" button.

Anyway after some thought and trying to call SYW but being put on hold......I decided to take the path of least resistance and order the SAE set too. This time it still says I have my $15 in surprise points (so maybe I screwed up and somehow didn't use them, never mind the fact I know I clicked the button to redeem points) and $6.98 other points in my account. I applied the full $21.98 to the SAE set and am paying $39.11 all in (tax, everything) for the SAE set.

I took screen shots (ctrl+prt scrn) and pictures on my phone to prove my case. I also put this order on my Amex and if I'm not charged exactly $39.11 Sears will be fawked.

However this time it says I earned $3.80 in points which is what it should be - 10% of out of pocket.

I hate to reward Sears' incompetence by just spending more money with them, but I do want the SAE set and even the full $60 for the metric is still a decent deal.

TL;DR: it's sad we have to do this but protect yourself with screen shots of the final order total and payment breakdown!!!

IGN

Same type of transaction happened to me, forget what tool i was ordering but I know i clicked redeem the points and had everything correct but the email confirmation had a different total. I did the chat online thing and found out my problem, the Sears guy said the 5% sears card thing took over and negated my points which were more. He said he couldn't fix that transaction but would give me twice the points i lost out on if i was ok with that.

I said go for it and he had the points on my total before we ended the chat, so i was happy and have already spent them LOL. He suggested to just start a chat before next order so i wouldn't get screwed again but i just changed to a different cc and that did the trick. Go figure, you have to use a non sears card to use sears points no wonder their in trouble.

the local sears refuses to match their own online prices, even when it is not listed as "online only".

i'll miss them when it closes, as eventually it looks like they all will.
I have had two Sears stores price match the online price without any hassle. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Finally decided to buy the XL wrench in metric. $26 back in points make it a no brainer. I did contemplate about it for several days, since it is the most expensive item I have bought beside some tires many years ago. I been using free points to buy loose sockets, wrenches etc one item at a time, paying cents for each item. I enjoy the hunt for how cheap I can get my tools, and it is all from the comfort of my chair.

Same here. Local store will not price match online price which does not make sense at all, but whatever. I prefer ordering online anyway.

How did you get $26 back in points?

Sears give different people different incentives - not sure how they determine who gets what. In my case it is buy $60, get $25 in points. I bought a $1 clamp as filler to make sure my purchase is at least $60.

The incentives changes randomly, yesterday was the last day I can get the $25.

Just curious, did you get your $26.14 in points back yet?

I've been promised points in the cart that mysteriously disappear at checkout.

Good on you for grabbing a screen shot.

One tip I learned from someone... On the very last screen before you press "Place Order Now", press the "Review Order" button first. That will show you the points you will get (or not get). That way, if you press "Review Order" and the points disappear, you know not to buy it. If you press "Place Order Now" before you press "Review Order" you won't know it until it is to late.

No I do not have the $26.14 points as of now. Usually when I pick-up my stuff an the store, then the points are added (assuming I am supposed to get points from that purchase). In this case, I have it shipped to me, so I would guess the points will be added once the item is at my house or when they ship them (ordered on Friday evening, so I do not think they will be shipping them until next wk). I am not worried tbh.

RE the points in the car that mysteriously disappear - I bet this is what happen. Lets say you have $5 points for that is for tools sold by Sears $25. Also you have coupons that will take $3 off $25. Usually you can not apply both, so your points may disappears at checkout, and you just get the coupons (even if the coupons is lower value that the points). Also you need to read the fine print. Is the points apply ONLY for tools (or whatever dept) sold by Sears, or Kmart, or for ANY purchase. Hope this helps. Sears website *****, but I have not seen any miscalculation of points for a long time. Several years ago when they started to have these points system, I have heard lots of problems.

They do sell other brands too if CM is not your cup of tea.

I found these craftsman Ratcheting wrench Box type for $59.99, regular is $159.99, if you use your shop way apps you get 15000 ($15.00 off) plus more extra point after check out. These craftsman Ratcheting Wrench set looks like the gear wrench which sale for 120.00 and up.

Just want to say thank you @LsR209 for posting this deal:bowdown:

Totally agree here. I always review my order before placing the order.

^ ^ ^This . . . . AND you ALWAYS should keep screenshots of your order.

Most helpful, is taking screenshots of the points offer (or copying and pasting them). Usually they appear in a pop up during checkout, or on the product page in the price box.

I had all the checkout screen shots, but the one I had said "estimated points earned" which is not the same as actual points earned. The only way I was able to get the points was because I had the breakdown of how the points were being earned

Anyone know if any Craftsman chisel or punches rebranded Mayhew?

Looks like all the Cold Chisels, Wood Chisels, and Punches are stamped with WF = Western Forge... Still, USA so that's good. :)

Tractor Supply has some Mahew Select chisels & punches on cheap clearance now at some stores. Might want to go by there and see first.

Wood chisels are China now, but the punches & chisels are still WF USA. I don't use mine a lot, but they've held up fine and I've always heard good things about them. That said, I did just score a deal on a bunch of new Mayhew punches and chisels, so I have both now.

Right before Christmas I found some US made wood chisel mixed with the Chinese version. I bought a set of three. I have used them once, they feels solid and pretty nice for non-pro like me.

Now I'm glad I was too broke to pick up the craftsman xl ratcheting box end wrench set when it was first posted. It's now on sale for $49.99. Ordered both metric and sae for $76.49 after applying syw points.

For people who already purchase, go to customer-service/policies/price-protectionform

http://www.sears.com/en_us/customer-service/policies/price-protectionform.html

Also, for points users...currently with 10 off 50 and 7.50 in points back,

seems like this pretty good deal and 32.50 net :dunno:

You should get net amount back of $10 or so, as the points deals are the same. Or, just re-order and return the other set at the local store I suppose.

I got an e-mail that I have $77 in points to use, however they can't be combined with any other offers. Super annoying because almost everything on Sears website in the tool section is "discounted"

Sorry for being a noob, but how do you get 10 off 50 and 7.50 in points?

Sears give random surprise points and/or coupons to different people. You gotta login, and see what surprise point and coupons available to you.

Just so you know, Sears website *****. Only way to really see what will work, is to add that item into the cart, and see if that points will/will not work. I have seen surprise points that should not be combined with other offers, and yet when the item is added into the cart, it works anyway.

So who's going to wait to see if they hit $39?

I was thinking about it. I don't have enough points or coupons that will work to get both sets down under 45.00 each. I may hold out for another week or so and see if they will drop again.

here is what He said, I don't really like this, but it better than nothing
I still keep getting an error and can't answer.
You will receive $4.33 to your shop your way rewards account within 24-48 hours and $6.27 to your credit card number ending with **6015 within 3-5 business days.
I'd rather have the $10.00 plus Tax, right on my CC, cause the points will probably run out.

Sorry for being a noob, but how do you get 10 off 50 and 7.50 in points?

Add a pencil for $1.00 (to cross from $49 to $50) and get back $17 in total savings. You have to click "apply points" to get the $10/off 50. Then the $7.50 will sho up a bit later to be applied to next purchase.

Just make sure your second purchase is not a rip off-- but something that ships freee or is available for local pickup.

If you already bought the item, as a bunch of people did last week, the link I posted earlier is to request a price adjust ment --- good for up to 14 days post sale.

The earlier deal was 12 off 60 for 48 net, this is 10 off 49 for $39 net, both deals with 10% or more in points back...ie, so you should be whole if you get a refund, even with points considerations...etc.
