You must be kidding yourself if you think GJ is a need and not want forum!

I know, but I'm "trying" to use the points wisely. Like the other day I had $12 in points, so I snagged 5 packs of the 6" scroll saw blades for $2 and change. Trying to stay with consumables that I don't like the spend money on otherwise lol.

RE using points wisely, my strategy is I have a list of what I want/need, and I buy the most expensive item first that is on sale.

Great hoses. But after 3 years in the hot Florida sun, mine leaves black marks all over everything I drag it over. Including the palms of my hands. Hard to remove.

Might have to return it to Sears and say it "sprung several pinhole leaks", and get a new one under the lifetime warranty on these hoses.

Mine do the same (the six sets I've bought over a 3 year period), and have done so from day one.

If you're "needing" a new deadblow, Sears has the Craftsman 3ib "Powerdrive" deadblow on sale for $21.92 plus $3 back in points. This is definitely a rebadged Nupla and, from my experience, well worth the money.]

Thanks I managed to get one for $10 after points.

Gearwrench 3/8 and 1/4 Roto Ratchet, both for $30 (original $60). That is about as cheap as Harbor Freight ratchet - cheaper if you have points to spend :)

I couldn't pass this up, I even had 15$ in surprise points so it was 16$ and some change out the door.

Craftsman Soldering Iron, 45 watt $3.92

Craftsman Soldering Iron Holder and Cleaner $3.92

Craftsman 4 pc. Electronic Component Solder Kit $3.92

Me too but got the soldering kit and went with the weller version of that iron and got that one for $20.00 plus.
Crusty 'ol me got the last one in San Diego. Online they claimed out of stock for 50 miles. Found one kicking around the bottom of the electronics rack in a pile of other stuff.

FYI in store price is $3.92 as well if you find one.

Also Sears is issuing promo cards today if you buy something in store with points. I used $3.92 in points on the Iron so it cost me $0.00 and then got a $8 free cash card. GF got one today too after buying $69 shoes for $3 after discounts. I'm pretty sure if you go today and use your points in store you just get one. 42b946bb6f508623f70134c73e614470.jpg

I hope this is on topic enough for this thread. Does the last digit of Sears' prices tell you anything about the discount/clearance price on the item? I know Costco and HD do this, and the internet says that Sears does.

But.....I'm looking at an item that ends in 92 cents. That doesn't line up with anything that I've found regarding Sears prices online. What I found is that 97 is clearance, and 88 is final price.

The price tracker in SYW indicates the price is at a historical low. Is that trustworthy? This is the item

They had a lot of new $x.97 prices in early August, which later all changed to $x.92 prices. I haven't seen those items being restocked at my nearest store.

It seems like clearance, but without blocking most coupons and surprise points as clearance does normally. :headscrat

There are also recent actual clearance accessory items that end in $x.88:
Craftsman 3/4 in. HSS Countersink $5.88 (yellow clearance tag on desktop website page)

Log in the website, and try here for a $20 off $100 storewide:

https://m.sears.com/promos/ecoupons

Thanks for the heads up! Scored the $20 off, I figured for $85 out the door + $12 in reward points...it was a deal I couldn't pass up.

Now. Fingers crossed that it's undamaged. When I bought the same set of drawers for the other side of my workbench I went through 2 before I found one that hadn't been dropped from 10 feet.

I'm in SoCal too. Are you talking in store or online? In store, prices in the lower income, more Hispanic trending neighborhoods are SIGNIFIGANTLY higher than they are in the better areas. The service is completely different as well, and they will often match online prices.

Alot of this comes down to how knowledgeable the shopers that come in to the stores are. People like me, well versed in points, buying from competiriors, shop your way points/coupons simply don't exist in the bad areas. People there need a tool to fix their car or they aren't getting to work tomorrow. Many speak no English at all and pay what they have to without question. In the good areas the Sears treat customers totally different, realizing that they are well aware of the many other retailers from which to buy. The only way they can adequately compete is on price and superior service.

When I go to exchange a Chinese ratchet (I never give up the USA ones) I go to the Sears in the good area. Because they will either give me a kit or two or order a whole new ratchet shipped to my house in 2 days. The Sears in the bad area will only give me junk from the drawer or order one shipped to the store, 2 weeks later I have to drive and pick up. Why? Because they can. The customers there don't know any better than to demand service.

If you want consistent prices, buy online. When the online inventory is off, and it's sitting in the store but you can't order online due to out of stock and they won't match online because it's a Sears in a bad area, buy it, and take to another sears for a price adjustment.

Clearance starts Thursday. May go back and get bar fridge at that time. Grabbed a few sockets I needed. Only single SAE wrenches they had were 11/16"?
