Wow i picked Up te 36 but wasnt on sale. DOES Sears do regional deals? I'm in southern California
I'm in SoCal too. Are you talking in store or online? In store, prices in the lower income, more Hispanic trending neighborhoods are SIGNIFIGANTLY higher than they are in the better areas. The service is completely different as well, and they will often match online prices.
Alot of this comes down to how knowledgeable the shopers that come in to the stores are. People like me, well versed in points, buying from competiriors, shop your way points/coupons simply don't exist in the bad areas. People there need a tool to fix their car or they aren't getting to work tomorrow. Many speak no English at all and pay what they have to without question. In the good areas the Sears treat customers totally different, realizing that they are well aware of the many other retailers from which to buy. The only way they can adequately compete is on price and superior service.
When I go to exchange a Chinese ratchet (I never give up the USA ones) I go to the Sears in the good area. Because they will either give me a kit or two or order a whole new ratchet shipped to my house in 2 days. The Sears in the bad area will only give me junk from the drawer or order one shipped to the store, 2 weeks later I have to drive and pick up. Why? Because they can. The customers there don't know any better than to demand service.
If you want consistent prices, buy online. When the online inventory is off, and it's sitting in the store but you can't order online due to out of stock and they won't match online because it's a Sears in a bad area, buy it, and take to another sears for a price adjustment.
