kball you are lucky and it's good the store stood by their "In 5" promise. Depending on the store, it can be a few other scenarios that include:

1. they can stop the wait timer before time's up, while retrieving / looking for the item(s)
2. they make you wait and told you the one who can print the coupon is away

They actually did stop the timer at 2:48 but after making me wait for over 10 minutes the kid came right out with a coupon. This particular store is good about handing them out so I always try to pick up there.

The store near me does scenario 1 every time. It really pisses me off. No wonder they're going down the tubes. The employee attitudes really **** and have for years.

Yes the downside is they will make your hands black if you handle them a lot. But these hoses do last forever, my parents have one that must easily be 10+ years old, gets used near daily, is left outside year round, and still looks like new.

Do they take a "set"?

I've posted this tip before - if your store routinely tries to dodge the 5-minute rule like that, and if you have a smartphone, you can use the Sears app to trigger the pickup request instead of the in-store kiosk. (It's intended for making them bring the item out to your car, but you can still stand in the kiosk lobby and use the app if you like.) When you use the app, supposedly it won't let them stop the clock until they scan a barcode displayed on your smartphone. (I haven't needed to do this myself yet since my store has been pretty good about pickups so far.)

Great tip, must have missed the last time. Thanks.

I've had them stop the time, and then end up waiting a 1 minute or 2 before they actually show up. Usually still under 5min, but still would be nice if they were consistent. It seems like Sears wants to take great pride in pickups (timers, % of pickups under 5min. At least that use to be posted), even though they have made it a real itch sometimes to order

Yeah, my store still has a dry-erase sign in the pickup area with their % under 5 minutes over several time periods (last 30 days and something else). I have seen different numbers displayed on different pickup visits, always quite high.

Just noticed this today...

Spend $40 get $40 back in points on home goods
Spend $150 get $75 back in points on fitness & sporting goods
Spend $60 get $60 back in points on clothes
Spend $50 get $50 back in points on vacuums
Spend $75 get $50 back in points on furniture
Spend $20 get $20 back in points on jewerly & watches

Points are only valid for 7 days, and I'm sure prices will go up March 1st on stuff...

FYI https://www.sears.com/gearwrench-20pc-combination-ratcheting-wrench-set-sae-mm/p-00935720000P comes up when I first open the page as looking like it's only available from third-party sellers at a much higher price, but if you click the "or shop from" arrow at the top of the pricing box and manually select Sears as the seller, it is actually still available from Sears for the $40.49 price (for in-store pickup or ship to home). Regular price is $99.99, on sale for $44.99, and becomes $40.49 with the additional 10% off tools bought online until Mar 3.

Perfect, with my $30 in FREECASH I just got that set for $11 and change, picking up today.

Yeah, there are some categories that Sears just does not sell stuff in themselves. If you don't already know, you can use the first tab (a blend of third-party sellers, Sears, and Kmart) to narrow it down to Sears-only items with the 'sold by' filter option (down low on the left-hand column). Using the second tab displays Sears and Kmart items, and there is no option to narrow it down to Sears-only.

Also, if you are wanting something sold by Kmart, you should sign in on kmart.com to check if you have any current offers that are Kmart-only. The sears.com offers list will only display Sears-only or Sears-and-Kmart offers.

My last pickup took 8 minutes. I asked about the 5 dollar coupon and he said "sure I'll be right back" . He came back a few minutes later with a sheet of paper with 4 coupons printed on it. Sears at the Gardens Mall in Palm beach gardens FL

They just print them on their price sign paper. Been the same code forever I think

They're killing me on the butterfly impact. Saw an add on it (for 20.09 still) went to order and it's still pickup only/out of stock. Naturally they don't say that, though, and instead just "there was an error adding this to your cart" subtly pops up.

Why advertise something you don't have?

Picked up some CM-USA hose pliers, snap ring pliers, hose pinch pliers etc a few years ago before the big switch to Taiwan versions which looked okay. Simple tool so it should work either way.

My wife was trying to utilize the $60 back on clothes and despite having over $60 in merchandise in her cart and not applying any points it only shows getting $20 back from the "get $10 back on $30" clothing promo x2. Is this normal? Should I tell her check out and than call them, or call them and ask first?

Just a thought here...

Are you sure she only have qualified items in her cart? I am not doubting she has clothes but maybe there is an item that do not qualify because it is listed under other department.

Thanks @Doohickey  Hose plier is now in my list!

You were too quick to help. I figured it out. Following the link on the main page led to the generic clothing catagory, which despite not being specifically excluded in the fine print, doesn't seem to be included. Following the link in the hot deals section reveals the specific sellers, which sell nothing of interest. So it's $20 or nothing. Kinda like those dumb ebay coupons for specific sellers, ya gotta be pretty hardup to buy to find something that's "worth" it.

Nope. Totally different models. The Sears unit is small and basic, relying on rivet tension to hold the adjustment until you squeeze. The Lisle has a locking tension mechanism and is significantly larger and stronger in general. For more significant hose clamps. I own the Sears ones and they struggle with some full sized radiator main hoses on my cars.

This square looks kind of cool... I wouldn't buy it without using points though... I already have two nice empire ones...

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-red-...ellerId=SEARS&prdNo=4&blockNo=4&blockType=G4#

I've had my eye on that thing for months! IIRC it is made by Empire (correction: Johnson) but has a few minor additional features if you compare closely to the Empire(Johnson)-branded squares. It went OOS everywhere last fall, and I'd thought the vendor was gone for good. Then in December it reappeared online but with ship dates over a month out, and has been 1-2 months every time I've checked since then. Now at 29 days out right now, it might finally be heading in the right direction on those dates. :) Pretty sure I've never seen it on sale other than as part of 'all tools 10% off' things, like the one they're currently doing online-only that ends this Saturday, so I might finally take a chance on the order getting fulfilled if the ship date doesn't get any worse by the end of the week.

Don't know where it's made today, but a friend picked up his order and hit the NOS jackpot.

Some Craftsman specialty automotive tools are still made by Lisle, AFAIK. The stethoscope I got a couple weeks ago was listed as 'Lisle' on the website, but I received an otherwise-identical product in a 'Craftsman'-branded package. Sears has lost a lot of US manufacture over the years, but not all of it; most of their hammers are still US-made by Vaughan, too.

I know I'm going to F myself on this... But I ordered some stuff that was $40 back in points on a $40 order... It says you get the points the next day, but we all know sears...

The tool sale is *supposed* to go through March 3rd it says... but again, we all know sears...

I'm hoping the price on the item I want to buy won't change before I get my $40 in points that I'm going to use with my existing points + some freecash to buy a bigger item. I figure if I'm going to spend the cash for the tool I want I might as well buy the other things and get it for free (assuming the points come through and prices don't change).

The additional 10% off tools online is virtually guaranteed to continue through this Saturday March 3, as it is listed with that end date in the special offer details if you expand that bar above the product name/photo area. Their prices do sometimes fluctuate unpredictably, but I don't recall any offers with specific end dates ending prematurely, only sometimes extended.

Getting your $40 back awarded promptly is the more likely thing to have issues with. Hopefully it will all work out. :)

I sure hope so... The item I want is $90... I have $44.39 in points right now, I should get back a hair over $40 tomorrow if the website does what it says ($40 off $40 in Home Products)... Also after placing that order today I now have $15 off $80! I always try to at least do a few dollars OOP, so I'll have some points leftover for another purchase which is okay as there were a couple small things I wanted at another Sears store in Houston that my friend is going to pick up for me. :)

When I ended up using Home offers (prior), I bought a Presto popcorn maker, coffee grinder, scales, & Oxo utensils. Worked out pretty good for me. I've also I have seen a couple vacuums that were just over $40 posted for this deal on other sites that qualified for the offer.
