If you have a store nearby, then you may want to check if they have some remaining USA stock on hand:

Craftsman 6 piece Chisel Set $14.99

2 pin punches, 2 cold chisels, 1 lineup tool, and 1 center punch

Good find. I think all of us 'regulars' exhausted the possibility of remaining US stock in our areas on the 3pc set a couple months ago when that set went on sale for less than half-price (my area was already all Chinese on those). I had checked all the punch/chisel stock in person at my nearest store at that time, and found the 6pc sets were still all US, and a few of the individual chisels had a few US ones still mixed in with the visibly-inferior Chinese ones... The 6pc set and the individual ones were all full-price at that time, and every time I've checked since then (just gave up checking a couple days ago, actually, lol). So assuming they still have the US 6pc sets, I will probably be getting one. It's just a shame that it looks like half of the set (edit: a third of the set - the alignment tool looks like a different size) is redundant to items in the US 5pc set I got a couple years ago.

Also some ad-blockers will prevent the chat icon from showing up... I think chat is just Monday thru Saturday?

Pretty sure it's 7 days a week, just not as long of hours on Sundays, but I couldn't find their hours stated anywhere. If you go through the contact page link I posted earlier, it should work regardless of whether you can get the 'click here to chat' overlay to appear on other individual pages or not.

I may not ever use these enough to wear them out, but that's a good justification for ending up with some overlap by buying these. ;)

BTW, a little good news for filler item availability - the $1.99 individual micro ratchet clamp (that we were just talking about a week or so ago, when I said I had a few but only because they came in a set) is back in stock in my area's corporate stores after what I think was years of absence. Not shippable, in-store pickup only.

It can vary depending on the browser you use. If the chat icon doesn't show up, go to the 'help' section. then type in "contact" and it will give you 2 links for chat (one for new orders, one for existing), and will pop up a new window once clicked. If the chat icon is working, the chat box will open within your browser page, rather than a new window

I've had the chat option available for up to an hour after they are supposed to be closed, but I think that was near the holidays. Chat is 7 days, and close at 11:30 EST.

OK, I finally took the time to cross-reference my photos of what I found at my nearest store last month with the product listings/photos on sears.com, and have put together what I think is a list of all the current Craftsman punches/chisels/alignment tools (aka line-up tools).

As of about 2 months ago (don't know if they're all still there), only the 6pc set #1 supply, 3 of the only-sold-separately items, and 1 individual item that's also included in set #1, were still available in US versions in my nearest store. I need to check my next-closest store too next time I'm down there. (For anyone who doesn't remember from the discussion a couple months ago, the reason these products are all shifting to Chinese versions is they used to be made by Western Forge, but Sears broke up with WF completely last summer, so when these are gone, they're not coming back except from China.)

6pc set #1 $25.99 regularly, $14.99 sale - http://www.sears.com/craftsman-6-piece-chisel-set/p-00943121000P :

I have the second one in multiple sizes. They used to sell them in a set of 3 for $40. I don't see the set on their site anymore.

They are USA made, I think by Imperial tool? They automatically lock when you squeeze something. Pull the handles apart to release.

I got one just because I got it for about 8 bucks. I never knew it was going to be this nice, or I would have bought at least two of them, maybe four.

One of the best Craftsman rebranded tools I've seen.

The pinching mechanism on this thing is unreal. Closes as tight as you want, and opens by pulling the handles apart. No springs, levers, adjustments, locking switches, or anything. They must have a patent on the locking mechanism. Otherwise, you would see Harbor Freight copy cats of this tool. It's that good.

I'm not sure if we ever landed on who exactly makes these Craftsman hose clamp pliers that everyone (including myself) really likes. I know you can find them on the Sears website branded as GearWrench, Imperial, and Apex.

Interestingly though, I just happened upon a Proto-branded version as well, but obviously much more expensive:

A little bit higher than I've previously shared for this USA tool, but if you need one:

The straight blades are also on sale, but a smaller discount:

Thanks! Offset up to $6.59 but had points to burn and if they're actually USA old stock when I pick them up tomorrow it will be a great score!

I was just about to post a deal on these Carwash Rubber Boots I had in my Sears cart that all of a sudden had $31.** in points coming back, when I bought 2. Plus I have the bounceback for $8 which brought my total twenty cents more that the points back. Couldn't figure out until I went to Kmart website

Some good buys if you work the system at shop your way; but it's time consuming and the website is frustrating.

I had about $20 in points, so used a freecash offer and the points to buy a 12 ton hydraulic jack delivered to the local Sears hometown for $2.31 OOP. Got a few points back, and with some sweeps added to it, I had about $25 of points. Wanted a Kreg jig; Sears is $10 more than cheapest price. But, get $30 in points back on $75 purchase OOP. So, bought the $110 jig; used $10 off of $50 offer, used $25 in points to get the purchase to $75.01. Got back about $31 in points; got a $4 bonus and a few pennies in the sweeps, and turned around and bought 10 pounds of welding rod, a set of knee pads, and the lisle mechanics stethoscope for about $52 total; again using a $10 free points offer to combine with the points. Ended up $6.12 out of pocket for the order.

So, got a 12 ton hydraulic jack, a Kreg K4 set, 10 pounds of welding rod drop shipped from Forney, a Lisle mechanics stethoscope, and a QEP set of knee pads for $83.44. Just buying the Kreg jig at the cheapest place I could find it would have been $99.99.

Usually, I watch free points and my point balance, and whenever it reaches a $35 order, I order 10 pounds of welding rod and a package of 18 ga finish brad nails. Comes to $2 or $3 OOP. Have to reach $35 to get free shipping.

I wish there were more quality tool items to buy at Sears; I've about maxed out all the US made quality stuff I can find that they sell. I don't buy just to have; only buy stuff I need and use. Welding rod is a good consumable to get from them with free money. Used to get pin punches, but now they're chinese made. Even the US made ones were a consumable; they bent or wore out quickly.

For those of you looking for something to use the $6 off $15 purchase FreeCash deal that came with this week's Weekly Sweeps e-mail...

Craftsman Replaceable Blade Snips - $15.02

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-replaceable-blade-snips/p-00942798000P

I bought a pair last year to cut some siding and they worked well. They were made in the USA... and appear to be the same as Midwest Tool & Cutlery's offering:

http://www.sears.com/black-rhino-duty-orange-large/p-00910928000P

It isn't available for shipping... but a local Sears Hardware has them in stock.

Can anyone tell me how I setup my sears online account so I get alerted when I have coupons/cash points expiring?
I lost $30 as I didn’t know it was expiring, I never seem to get any email or text from Sears.

Thanks in advance!!

There is no way to "set up" alerts like that. Sears wants you to let things expire. They do send some emails, which occasionally tell you when you have a new offer or expiring offer, but they are intentionally not a consistent/reliable way of finding that out (most emails just tell you about sales on product categories you have no interest in), so the only thing to do is get in the habit of checking daily on the Sears/SYW websites. If you are not getting any emails from Sears, then you need to double-check in your account settings that you are subscribed to their promotional emails, and if that's already enabled then you may need to change email providers (Yahoo in particular is known to have a lot of problems receiving Sears emails).

Thanks Helen, maybe it is my email provider as I use rocketmail that was taken over by Yahoo some time ago!

Another irritating thing is I got a new cell phone and Shop your way wont let me update the number on my profile, says it’s already assigned to another profile! So I have contacted SYW support (wish me luck).

I find Sears and SYW websites so poorly setup and a chore to navigate, no wonder sears is going the way of the dodo as Amazon, Walmart, Target et al make it so much easier!

Such a shame as being a Brit who used to always visit sears as part of my vacations to the US I had a soft spot for sears and visiting one was always exciting. But now as a US resident I am just constantly disappointed or underwhelmed!

Yes, Sears is often disappointing/frustrating these days. :( The phone number thing is probably happening because the person who had your new-to-you phone number before you had an SYW account with that number (there are few really new phone numbers in the US anymore, most have been recycled repeatedly, so it's usually best to transfer your previous number when changing phone company instead of ending up with a number that's already been registered on places you now want to use it). Hopefully SYW will be able to do something about that for you, but I'm not sure.

So never got around to getting my other order returned and ordering the new battery again with $80 bonus points but maybe that is a good thing. Sears really screwed this one up. I had called in to have my order cancelled within 15min of placing it cause the order didn't use my points.

Well imagine how surprised I was when I received not 1 but 2 batteries in the mail this week. Low an behold both show up on my credit card. I was told it would take 5-7 days for the refund so part of me says I should wait a few days still and see if that happens but I really doubt it will since Both orders show as delivered in my order history. Now I have to go through the hassle of returning one of them.

At first I was thinking oh good, you got a duplicate freebie out of them (that happened to me once)... but no such luck, lol. Sears being Sears at its 'best' there...

That is what I thought at first too. I thought I had scored two batteries for $41. Then figured I should at least check my credit card and was immedietly dissapointed. :(

Still don't see anything new for Father's Day at the nearest store. Tool dept employees don't seem optimistic about receiving any sort of display this year.

Over in the Lawn & Garden dept., Stanley shovels have arrived to replace Craftsman. I guess that's an improvement over last month when they restocked their loppers with some brand I didn't recognize. :puke:

I successfully acquired a US-made $14.99-sale 6pc chisel/punch set and a $1.99 micro ratchet clamp, using my $6 off $15. I bought in-store so I could make sure I got a US set, and had to do a price match to the website on both items - even though the little clamp wasn't marked as being a sale at all online, it claimed $1.99 was the regular price, but was $2.19 in-store. Just enough difference to annoy people unnecessarily, but wouldn't have bothered price-matching it if I wasn't already making them match the $11 difference on the other item at the same time. And the grand return of those individual clamps to my store wasn't so impressive - they only had 2 of them, and now they only have 1. So get 'em for your fillers while you can, who knows how many months it'll be before they replenish.

And to be sure of these kinds of price differences before going to the register, I like to use the price check scanners (mounted on columns with a big blue sign above them), of which only I've managed to find 3 in my local store. The 1 that I'd been using for years nearest the tools area, in housewares, was unplugged last week for no apparent reason. Instead of repairing it, the scanner has now been completely removed this week. So I went wandering around looking for the others. #2 is in shoes, and it just displays a web browser error page whenever you try to scan something. #3 in women's clothing, on the opposite side of the store from tools, is the only one still working. :wtf:

I didn't receive any very good coupons/offers after my transaction, BTW. Just stuff like $8 off $50, $10 off $75, and such.

Feeler gauges all USA, quite happy with them. Also scored the 5pc flat and 5pc Philips screwdrivers, also made in the USA for $2.99 @ Ace via the SD site. Not that I needed 10 more screwdrivers but USA made @ 64 cents each who am I to say no?!

My New Age locker is showing a delivery date of 6-5-18 but never showed up today. And I never got a tracking number. I did a chat with Sears and all the chat chick would say was they would check on it and get back to me in 48 hours or less. She said I would definitely get the cabinet. I seriously doubt ever seeing it in this lifetime. I’ll let everyone know what they say when/if they get back to me.
Sears Customer Service must be handled by off shore boiler room outfit. Lots of broken English in her responses.

I haven’t received my cabinet from this latest round either; I did receive one from the first round, my only notification was a text message to schedule delivery when the delivery company had received it in town.

Yes, the chat reps are definitely all overseas (India, IIRC). It is (or at least used to be, haven't heard so in a while) possible to get US reps on the phone, but the vast majority of the phone reps are overseas these days too. I think you'd need to call during US Central Time daytime to have any chance of being able to speak to someone in the US.

I'd suggest waiting another week at least before getting very worried, though.

Price checker has never worked in my tool department. They did move it to a new location in their department makeover recently.

Remember this post from February?
Many Craftsman auto tools with 50% off and ship-to-store option:

These might be the only ones made in USA:

Craftsman Double Pointed Scriber $2.42
spin_prod_1134714512

Been trying to get one of these for several months now, ordered it on 2-11-18. I get online with Sears Chat and they say it's in. I go there and nobody can find it. Almost 4 months now....
Finally I go out on the floor and there are 4 of them hanging on the hook and they say "take it". As many times as I bothered them about that $2.42 item, I do believe they hope I don't come back, ever. Their system is so screwed up, if I was less honest I could probably get two or three of the same items because sometimes it doesn't show that I even picked the item up already.

There are multiple systems that attempt to keep track of what's been picked up or not, and they aren't always in sync. The system they use in-store which displays the list of items available for pickup once you enter your phone number at the pickup kiosk has always removed my previously-picked-up items properly (they're gone the next time I come pick up something else), but the records of my orders as displayed on Sears.com have a few items in them that it's wrongly claimed for months haven't been picked up. Sometimes at some stores they may skip the step that updates the kiosk too, in which case it would potentially be possible for someone to try that (don't, though, that's crossing the line), but the back-room people hopefully should realize that the item is not (any longer) in the back room waiting for you and cancel it at that point.

I know at least a couple people following this thread did the Kmart Hanes points-back deal a couple weeks ago. I hope your orders turned out better than this guy on SD's did...

" Buggers cancelled my order of socks I placed 5/26 - had the hanes points offer stacked with 25 wys 50 offer. Wasted loads of time since the order was placed on chat, 3 times, told them yesterday please do not cancel, I can wait if they went oos. Nopes, they cancelled, and of course, the item is in stock available to ship today, never went oos, they just couldn't find the order as far as where it was or why it was held up, so they did the lazy thing & just cancelled. I just about lost my mind when snotty chat csr offered a %5 discount if I placed a new order for the same stuff, and of course claimed they can't honor the points offer. Jerks. "

I have that one, and it works great. Cuts nails, bolts, locks, and chains like a hot knife through butter. And it folds up very compact and fits in a toolbox drawer.

They also now have a Craftsman version of that. It seems identical, and I almost want to say the Craftsman is a rebadged Olympia.

Yes, the Craftsman folding bolt cutters are definitely made by Olympia. But the reason I slightly favor the Olympia-branded version is, after reading all the reviews of all the sizes of both brands on both Sears.com and Amazon  months ago, I learned that the Olympia versions have adjustable bolts in the heads so the cutting edges can be realigned over time as needed, but the Craftsman versions are riveted in place, unable to be readjusted for longer life. I would've gone with the Craftsman 24" version if I'd been ready to make a purchase during its less-than-1-day time at nearly half off a month or so ago, but for the usual $2 difference I'd go with Olympia. I also decided that the 24" version is the best balance of size and versatility (reviews indicate the shorter lengths aren't powerful enough for larger bolts and most locks and metal cables, just stuff like wire closet shelving and tiny bolts).
