I used this week's $8 of FreeCash and ordered a set of these from a Sears Hardware store:

Craftsman 8 pc. Metric Open End Ignition Wrench Set - $10.41

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-8-pc-metric-open-end-ignition-wrench/p-00904308000P

... and was surprised to find that they were made in the USA.

I'm thinking that could be because I got them from a Sears Hardware store instead of a 'regular' store... maybe they don't move as much merchandise.

I might try my luck with the SAE set next:

Craftsman 8 pc. Inch Open End Ignition Wrench Set - $11.34

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-8-pc-standard-open-end-ignition-wrench/p-00944778000P

I experienced the same earlier this year. I think I posted about them at the time. Ironically, today I picked up my 2nd to last USA made punch/chisel/***** of all the ones I know are available. Just need the largest chisel, which my usual hometown has plenty of. Many of the other sizes I was buying the last one available.

LOL I haven't got FreeCash in months. Even tho I buy every other week or so.

Oh and those Ignition wrenches are always Made in USA. Even if you order ones from ebay, they are Made in USA. Not sure if there is only one manufacture of the small wrenches but i have yet to find the Craftsman ones anywhere that are NOT made in the USA

Were you able to have them shipped from the hw store or did you have to do store pickup?

Dumb question, perhaps, but can you pay with points in a Sears Hardware, or can you only use the points for online orders picked up at a Sears Hardware?

You could at my Sears Hardware. It closed last year so not sure if anything has changed.

Need some input fellow GJ members.

I have $25 in points expiring on 10-13-18. Looking for something out of the ordinary to combine with a $10 off $50 coupon. Shipping is ok.

I haven’t purchased all the Knipex tools under $50 yet but are there some surprises hidden? Hidden gems?

I have the 9” (?), 24” and 6’ levels. The new CM plastic toolboxes look gimmicky with the angled edges. Excel toolboxes are not carried by sears anymore

Same with the Midwest snips and Channel-locks. Several of each.

The fallback is Kmart for socks and underwear but you know....

There is always second thoughts after I hit send the order.

i just got this vice with my last $25 in points, added a filler item and used $10 off $40

https://www.sears.com/olympia-tools-5inch-bench-vise/p-00946013000P

already got it, seems quality made, no complaints.

other than that i would recommend looking at clothes at kmart (i know...boring!). i ended up getting several NCAA football jerseys/hoodies/shirts a week or so ago. they were all on sale for $7.99 or less (tag was $34.99 each) and were well made, fit great. gave a few hoodies away to friends and they were pretty happy with them too

I had the same problem, I've hit up most of knipex I want/need, same with Bully Tools, Craftsman, Wera, NES. So yesterday I set the wife loose with the $40 I had expiring and a $10 off $50 coupon. So today she tells me to stop by the store for her order on my way home....she found bras and ******* in her size, 23 items total, apparently the store I pass on the way home had bras marked to 2.99 and ******* for about a dollar. And of course the in vehicle pickup doesn't work so I'm in the pickup area, checking that I have all the items on a table looking like a pervert rummaging through underwear mountain right in front of an entrance.

captain14 - Do you have any/all of the Nupla-made Craftsman dead blow hammers yet? Here's the 1lb one, there's also a 2lb and a 3lb that should show up as related products. http://www.sears.com/craftsman-dead-blow-hammer/p-00938359000P

Stealth store closure announcements that have trickled out over the past couple weeks, after the most recent big list that Sears corporate bothered to officially release... known as of Oct 4, 2018:

Sears:
  1. Golf Mill Shopping Center, 400 Golf Mill Ctr, Niles, IL - https://www.journal-topics.com/articles/golf-mill-sears-to-close/
  2. Cambridgeside Galleria, 100 Cambridgeside Place, Cambridge, MA - This one hasn't made the news yet, but it is suspected to be planning to close, due to recent changes to some of their job postings (adding 'STORE CLOSING' to the titles), which has been a confirmed closure indicator on some other recently-announced locations, and does not appear on other still-normally-operating stores' postings. Forewarning if any of you live in that area.
  3. Eastern Hills Mall, 4545 Transit Rd, Williamsville, NY - https://buffalonews.com/2018/09/25/second-to-last-sears-will-close-at-eastern-hills-mall/
  4. The Mall at Fairfield Commons, 2727 Fairfield Commons, Beavercreek, OH - http://www.daytondailynews.com/news...-commons-mall/S0Z3oaOSHHGUcjXN5pwNAI/amp.html
  5. San Jacinto Mall, 1000 San Jacinto Mall, Baytown, TX - http://baytownsun.com/news/article_30800282-c6ba-11e8-a5d7-3bc2e1d718d7.html
  6. Broadway Square, 4701 S Broadway Ave, Tyler, TX - https://tylerpaper.com/news/local/s...cle_33125020-b78f-11e8-b798-974725d9e249.html
  7. Grand Central Mall, 500 Grand Central Ave, Vienna, WV - http://www.newsandsentinel.com/news/business/2018/09/sears-closing-grand-central-mall-store-2/

Kmart:
  1. 1500 Fitzgerald Dr, Pinole, CA - https://www.eastbaytimes.com/2018/10/03/report-kmart-to-close-pinole-store/
  2. 635 Dutchess Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, NY - https://www.poughkeepsiejournal.com...e-december-71-employees-lose-jobs/1454457002/

These locations have all either begun liquidation already or will do so very soon, and will shut down completely in early to mid December 2018.

Hmm, maybe I should give that give another go. I had a hell of a time getting mine, and had the worst travel when I used it. Immediately I returned it, though Sears gave me the wrong return address. What a fiasco. I really wanted it to work well at thenp ice I got it at, plus the plastic jaws they have available. Figured all their vises were shoddy.

You can use points. The stores don't make as much in a point redemption, but they do make a little from what I was told. Only thing you can us for in-store are your base points. Online you can apply offers for pick up there.

My last two orders had 2-3 coupons at the end of the email that verified the current order.
I believe there was either $10 off $40 and $50. Between that and points I purchased items that were shipped. Last order I needed a less than $ 1 filler. Another keychain screwdriver. I was at the deadline of 0058 hours and had issues going thru the “I am not a robot” antics.
Finally signed out of the account and went back in.

Maybe there will be Some Columbus Day deals. Even those have been weak recently.

I know there's been several posts recently regarding levels... but I hadn't really been following them too closely... so apologies in advance if this is a repost or a bad deal.

Johnson Level 48 in. Magnetic Top-Read Alum Level - $21.97

https://www.sears.com/johnson-48-in-magnetic-top-read-alum-level/p-00981538000P

... available for both in-store pickup (near me, at least) as well as for shipping.

does anyone have a review for this?

https://www.sears.com/craftsman-tire-inflator-with-gauge/p-00916388000P

i was actually needing a tire gauge and for a few bucks more than a cheapo i could upgrade to the whole system. might even have to spend it OOP since its only on sale til tomorrow

Yes... I have it... it works fine. I'd recommend a using it along with a decent tire gauge vs. relying only on its pop-up pressure indicator... but delivers air and doesn't seem to leak.

Thanks for the recommendation on the vise. Anyone have any comment how it compares to the Craftsman branded ones? Would the 6in. Be worth another $20?

Thanks.

don't know but they canceled my vise.:(

I think you will be happier with another vise. I couldn't believe they sent what they did. When opening & closing, the rate varied. It wouldn't move for a turn or more, then lurch forward. I really wanted it to work, especially for the $30 or $35 in points it was in the end and Sears had plastic jaws available, but know I would curse at it every time I used it.

I had to fix something today, and needed a regular screwdriver. Currently, I just carry the Sears impact screw drivers, just in case something needs a little love tap. It was actually my first time using them, and what a nice feeling screwdeiver. Obviously heftier due to the striking shank, but just felt perfect in the hand. If you don't have them yet I'd put. Those on your list. Currently $24, down from $30. $20 is the lowest I've seen & when I got mine. Made in Japan

Recent Craftsman vises aren't so hot, from what I've heard. You might want to take a look at Yost also; some of theirs are available through Sears.com.

I agree the 2pc impact screwdriver set is worthwhile, even when not at the lowest price. Made by Vessel. Under their own name, I don't think Vessel even makes a slotted impact screwdriver (if they do, I didn't see it on Amazon when I looked a few months ago), just JIS Phillips. So if the Craftsman set becomes unavailable, there's no close substitute.

Well-reviewed Craftsman router at a decent price, plus points back for anybody who hasn't done the $75 back in 3 installments deal yet (ends Sat 10/6) and wants to:
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-12-amp-2-hp-fixed-plunge-base-router/p-00927683000P
$89.99 sale, $124.99 regularly

(Don't use points/offers/coupons to lower the out-of-pocket price before tax to less than $75 if you want the points-back promo to work.)

Thanks... I bit. Added a Gearwrench de-burring tool to get the total just over $100 so I could use the $10 off $100 coupon on their site... and then lowered the total to exactly $75 with some points about to expire.

I've done the last 3 "100% points back" deals... so I think I better sit the next one out (though that's what I've said to myself the last 2 times).

Nice combo.

I got a message from the Sears app reminding that today is the last day for this deal, if anyone is in the market for clothes:

"Online Only. Members get $25 CASHBACK in points when you spend $50 or more on a qualifying Clothes purchase only at Sears.com. Valid on merchandise sold by Sears. Maximum $25 in points per member. Points credit to account 24 hours after transaction. Points valid 14 days. Offer valid 9/27/2018 through 10/6/18. Excludes Lands' End. Purchase requirement before taxes and after other discounts and must be made in a single transaction."

Not 100% back, but no waiting for installments.

Seems most things these days are unavailable for shipping and local pickup......some items I have bought that were not available to ship have still not made it for local pickup months later.......I wonder if they are selling what they have left? Things are not getting any better.....
