Back to the deals

Sears craftsman 3 piece folding hex key set (in store) $9.99. Online last I checked yesterday was $19-20. UPC 09 9575467059. I had a $ 5 from order pickup card.
This is the multi color SAE, metric and Torx set.

Additionally from L & G Craftsman 36” long shoulder strap for your blower/trimmer. $1.47. UPC 02 4771024631. I was unable to find these online when I looked this fall.
Last year I saw them running from $ 8-12 in line.

Last is the Craftsman 2 toolbag set. 13 & 18 was 10.99. Yesterday it was $9.99
The 16”& 20” bag set was $16-17 almost half from the regular price of $29.99.

Those toolbags aren’t worth it, even for free. The material is very thin, not like the green bags they sold 10-15 years ago. I purchased some for my ratchet straps last year and returned them immediately. The Husky tool bags at Home Depot are far better quality.

those are random ones you can get in emails when you order or via freecash, etc. theyre common, but not everybody has one laying around and they are generally tied into each SYW account

They actually aren't tied to your account, unless you load them to it. I just used an $8 off $40 that was laying around in store. Lately I've been asking if they have any unwanted ones, but either am shown an empty trash can because so few are printing, or I'm told they are only for the person they print for.

UPC numbers aren't as useful as Sears item numbers for finding stuff, FWIW.

I think this is the strap:
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-shoulder-strap-multi-tool/p-07185936000P
$12.99 regularly, $11.69 online sale, but only available at one 'Sears Hardware' store 98 miles away from me... sounds like you got it 90+% off on clearance, and there's not very many left

And this is the folding hex keys:
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-3-piece-hex-key-set-with-24/p-00946705000P
$25.99 regularly, $19.66 online sale, $9.99 in-store sale?

Anyone find any lifting Straps/Slings on sale?

I highly recommend The Landle if it fits your lifting needs. (It's for more easily lifting awkward things you would've carried by hand or on a dolly, not for hoisting from a crane or anything like that.)

I bought mine last year directly from the small US manufacturer's website, but that appears to no longer be an option. (They still have an informative website, but stopped selling directly.) They are currently on Amazon, in-store-only at select Walmart locations (that will be the best deal if they're in your area), UHaul.com, and QVC.com.

One thing I decided not to go with the cheapest option I could find on. Quality product with safety in mind.

Maybe try calling Yost if you have time tomorrow, to ask what their plans are. 2manytools was able to get some informative results calling other vendors. I was optimistic your order would ship after bankruptcy began, since they seemed to be holding it until payment going forwards would be assured; but it seems some vendors are still snubbing Sears until they get their pre-bankruptcy back payments.

I finally got time to call Yost today, talked to a guy who cold track down my order, he said he didn't know why it didn't ship. He said he assumes they had already invoiced SEARS, he saw the label and said they had 227 FS4 vises in stock, he printed some things out, gonna try to ship it out tommorrow and will call me.... so here's hoping!!!

Sounds like you'll be getting your vise, at least, though they seem to no longer be available for future sold-by-Sears orders.

No, actually I need A few slings for lifting Items in the basement, Garage,
End of the lathe Bed, Top end of A Bandsaw to install a Riser Block,
R&R A drill press head, things Like that.
I had~ 2 surgery's mid 2013, and was in the hospital for 2 month's,
then chemo Treatments till Mid 2014 and another surgery, So I lost most Of The A$$ I once had.
Then My Knees started hurting, So after telling One doctor, that I thought It may be due to A new medication I was taking, and her saying "I don\t think it's from the medication, and just "Looking @ me" :headscrat........The next follow up appointment with a different doctor, He claps his hands, and says "come on, lets get some X rays" Informs me my knees both need replacement.
So lifting something heavy isn't an option.

10 Years prior, (Now not A "Dead lift" from the floor or anything) But at That time, I was stronger, where I could lift my Craftsman 150 bench-top drill-press single handed off A bench and carry it 10 feet to the other bench.

Anyone that hasn't snapped up a cheap cman 48" magnetic level, USA version is officially discontinued so may want to consider getting one before only China is left. Yes these are the exact same part number/SKU. I got 2 more for $13.88 after seeing this.

I wonder if Sears is the mystery company that did $2 mill in business with Johnson and bailed after the price increase. Maybe the new Chinese ones are made by a different supplier all together?

I think your location's prices are still abnormally low, but it's worth getting even at the $25.71 online price for everybody else. https://www.sears.com/craftsman-48-inch-magnetic-aluminum-i-beam-level/p-00939455000P (In-store price for me a couple weeks ago was at full MSRP, and they wouldn't match timobody's store's price.)

When I bought mine in early Oct, it was a fresh-off-the-truck arrival, and still the US version at that time. The label on those US ones is a big sticker that wraps around the front/sides of the middle of the level, but not around the back; the barcode for buying it is a separate sticker down near one end. Looks like the new Chinese version instead has a stiff paper label, wrapping all the way around the middle of the level, with no adhesive... at least that will be one point in its favor for anyone who's missed out on the US version, they won't have to clean adhesive gunk off. ;)

Your link does mention that Johnson has already been making some of its levels in China, so I bet they just moved their Craftsman production from the US to China, rather than it being a total supplier change. We may never know, though. Regardless, I'd expect the matching 2ft level will be changing to China too, so anybody who wants one should try to grab that soon too.

My location was full MSRP (Chula Vista). The one in Buena Park was the deal at $14.88. However I did go to a different store just north (Escondido) and they matched the Sears Hometown website, $13.88 all day long baby!

UPDATE: so the Yost representative called me this morning, he said that Sears may have charged me, but they didn't pay Yost  but he said that it's not the kind of customer service they like, so they are still going to mail me my vise today even without Sears payment :shocking: I am super stoked and can't believe it.

My next question is..... what should I do about my Sears order? Yost is printing another shipping label and doing everything on their own. Once I get my vise in hand, should I contact Sears about my $88 in points plus the $35 they charged me? Or should I just let it go because I got what i ordered? (no thanks to Sears)

I'd want to get my refund from Sears, and send part of it direct to Yost, or have a mini-keg delivered to them. Great service on their end, and hopefully get what they are owed from Sears.

Interesting article I read today, that it is in just about everyone's best interest for Sears to stay alive. The amount debt credit they have, offsets a lot of their future earnings, giving them a huge tax break. Their credit is so large, it said it would make sense for Sears to acquire another profitable business, so that business can take advantage of the credit. This all goes away though, if ESL isn't in the picture, Sears is sold off, or goes through with complete bankruptcy.

Is there any assurance of getting a US one if ordering for shipping? Or are the Chinese ones being substituted without any change of specifications or photos on the site?

I doubt you can get any assurance of getting a US made version unless you find it yourself at local store.

That's correct. Sears sometimes leaves outdated product photos/information up for months or even YEARS before updating to show the non-US version. Even in cases of drastic design changes that really should've received a new item number, for example the chisel holder.

tell sears you want a refund, bar none. then if you want to show your appreciation to yost, give them a call and tell them youd like to offer them what you paid sears for it. theyll no doubt say no, but itll show integrity on your part and maybe make them just a little more likely to try and help the next person in the same situation out. plus im sure youll sleep a little better

Well they shipped it out Wednesday, and it shows it will be here Thursday and has been tracking across Michigan and Illinois, but they used the original UPS tracking number that Sears sent me 2 weeks ago. So how can I tell Sears that the money I paid them and my rewards points didn't actually go to my vise because they didn't pay Yost? or do I just shut up and be happy with my vise? I guess I'm just super annoyed at Sears for taking advantage of Yost

Yost was the good-guy in all of this and shouldn't come out the loser. Call them and tell them what happened. They can either recall the second one in transit or they can issue a call tag to pick it up when you receive it. That is the correct thing to do.

It sounded to me like there isn't a second one. One shipment only, but he thought it was going to be sent separately from the Sears order, and it turned out to be sent as a fulfillment of the Sears order despite needing manual intervention.

FWIW, anything Sears gets invoiced for after Chapter 11 began but before Chapter 7 begins should get paid. It's normal for it to take a while for invoices to be paid - 30 or 60 days probably.

From someone on SD: "My local Sears had out flyers for Sears Community Days Event (extra 10% off 10/27-10/28 IN STORE with a simple 3 word barcode that all of the flyers had) and a Halloween Spooktacular on 10/27"

There's also still a Family & Friends (F&F) 10% off sale coming up the weekend after that - Nov 4 in-store, and Nov 4-6 online.

Finally pulled the trigger on the 299 pc socket set. $269.99 combined with $20 off $150 coupon and $199.99 in SYW points. Total price $50 and I get $50 back in points!

Hopefully I get some of the $199.99 in points refunded during the F&F event if the price goes even lower.

I accumulated most of the points on Kmart orders, with sweepstakes, raise.com and Gasbuddy purchases contributing a little. Every week Kmart has a new spend $75 get $75 offer and there is a 100% points back offer on halloween stuff up to $50 that is given in a lump sum instead of installments. I have been buying diapers, paper towels, etc, to take advantage of the $75 offers.

I'll be back up to $118 by November 20, not including the $25 first installment from this purchase and any gas purchases and sweepstakes I win between now and Nov. 20! Man I wish Sears would pay Knipex up so I could get some more of their tools.

Having a local Kmart is definitely a huge advantage. I would've been grocery-shopping there as much as possible too if I'd had that option.

Amen on wanting to see Knipex come back.

ugggg. I'm $.02 off from my $12 off $20 coupon. Need to keep looking.

If you're doing an in-store pickup order, throw in a $0.99 keychain. :)

I don’t have a local Kmart or Sears. Free shipping on $35+ orders. Also free shipping when you buy 3 select grocery items. If you’ve only got $20 in points that are about to expire there are several items for $6-$8 on the list.

That is correct, there isn't a 2nd vise. They used the same tracking number as the original tracking number. When UPS delivered it today, Sears sent me an email saying "your item was delivered!" :( So I don't know if or what I could do. I got my vise, they took my points and money, Yost probably got screwed

Hey folks,
I have heard Sears would price match Home Depot. Will Sears give a free shipping if the total is over $35? The item that I am interested in does not qualify for free shipping regardless of the price, but I can add more stuffs to make it over $35.

Thanks!

I've had decent luck just asking for free shipping, but my total was still usually $35. It usually seems it is an oddball item that a store will be shipping out when it doesn't qualify. The last couple Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches I've ordered have been like that

Got an email this morning that my $5.99 International tool box is ready for pick up. A day and a half ago customer service told me the order would be canceled.
