The real reason he has been on here so much is SPAM. Whilst he has had time out due to health he has been busy getting rid of the rubbish that blocks up this place and posts we do not like to see.![]()
Well, I appreciate you doing that Steve. This is my favorite forum, and I'm constantly talking it up.

Mrs 1/2 Cup gets all the credit here.
Steve, she has done you proud.

Looks like water restrictions are not an issue for you as yet.
Fence looks GREAT Steve!![]()
Good to hear health is getting back on track. Fence turned out great. Kudos to great teamwork. The Shed is going to be gerarded? Look forward to seeing the outcome.

1/2: with all the brick you have around your place I might have thought that was the plan for the house next door fence too, but the white pickets with blue really does look great as does everything over there. if I wasn't a homeowner and I had to rent I'd LOVE TO HAVE YOU AS MY LANDLORD.
since it's finally SATURDAY here I hope you enjoyed yours and even though I know the QST is calling your name i hope you have a restful rest of the weekend and maybe get to watch some golf (big tournament time in Australia this month isn't it and i know how you AUSSIES like your sports?)
cheers
The finished fence looks great!. You and Mrs 1/2Cup made a great team on this job. Make sure she hears we all appreciate her hard work as well. Really sets off the street view.

HOTFR8 we do have permanent stage 1 water restrictions that allows us to water up to 10 am![]()
Would you like to borrow some water?
Different to here. I hardly use much water but then I also have grey water and rain water. We still have permanent restrictions. Water dishes I have to fill daily and hand sprinklers only. Your grass looks dry like here. Any thing green here is due to what little rain or grey water as I pump off.
Your fence came out great Steve. Glad to hear you are feeling better.
Bret
I'm going to quit singing "don't fence me in", if that's the kind of fence you'll use.![]()

I agree that the fence looks great, all the effort was well worth it.
That is a funny looking swimming pool.
Would you like to borrow some water?
We will take all the water you can spare...![]()
HOTFR8 we do try and be fairly frugal with our watering and you can keep things green with out going over board.
I envy you with all your tanks I would luv to have the same![]()
Clean water is OK.
Looks like I have enough water for this summer. All I need to do is make sure I keep my shed tanks full and I have to do that by pumping the house tanks so they do not overflow. Next door neighbour just put in two massive tanks. Decided it was cheaper than a drilling a bore and I have to agree with him it is.
The finished front fence on the west-wing looks really great. [emoji106]
Good to hear that your health is on the up and up too. [emoji106]

HOTFR8 its great to see you have enough water to get you through h the summer.
A bore can be expensive, quick question what is the depth of your water table there.???
Well I hope I have enough water. As for the bore we never did follow through. Simply too expensive.
Can't believe you blokes are on permanent water restrictions. Is there not some plan in place to ensure you are supplied enough water?.
Lyndsay
It would seem that permanent water restrictions ARE the plan to ensure we have enough water. In the south of the state in the "growth corridor" where new suburbs west of Melbourne and around Geelong have been created over the past decade or so there has been a focus on recycling grey water which appears to be fairly successful - and of course there is a mothballed desalination plant down near Phillip Island which can help out Melbourne - but is too expensive to turn on...
The population of Greater Melbourne is forecast to double in the next 30 years, so let's hope they have solid plans in place.

Have been for many years now. Hand held sprinklers only here.
Also a reason why drilling a bore has become so expensive. As for the Desal Plant lets not get Political. It was built so it should be used other wise it will simply have been built for nothing.
I am sure 1/2 with his work has heard all this before.

Steve, I was not thinking of where you worked when I asked the question!
I was actually shocked that places have permanent water restrictions, especially where you live as the pictures you post of your place makes it look like you live in an oasis, I am even more impressed now that I know you don't have full access to water.
As for desalination plant they built one down near Sydney they never use either, so I guess politicians are tossers in all states!
We have only had about 3 feet of rain here this year, which is way down on normal, hoping for more next year..
Cheers.
Thanks for the info Ralf. They bought in recycled water in the new suburbs of Sydney when I still lived there, last century, which stopped water restrictions permanently, which was good, but it added thousands to the price of a new home.
Now I live in gods country water restrictions are a thing of the past
One thing I have learnt in this life, is that although the geniuses in govt have decided to double the population, they will do nothing about infrastructure until a major problem surfaces![]()

Taking me a bit longer to make the rounds this week. These last weeks before the end of year holidays are always trying to shoehorn 4-6 weeks work into 2 weeks.
The fence came out looking great Steve! At the rate you’re burning through the maintenance and the honey-dos, you look to be setting up for nice relaxing holiday.
I’ve been willing a lot of rain your way this week. Some visiting Melbournites/Melbournians got stuck in the airport delays caused by the storm on Tuesday. Most having just been through the one in Sydney a few days back. Told them to take it back with them too. Statistics going around that we’ve had 5 times the normal rainfall for October to November and that September was above average too. Hoping December balances out the averages just a bit so I can at least try and keep up with the weekly lawn mowing.
Strangely enough we had light water usage restrictions last year. If we get below average rainfall, we don't currently have enough storage to keep up with demand.![]()
To hear you talk about water restrictions seems very strange, but very smart. You all seem to have found good ways around them.
Hmmm ... I know I haven't been around much lately but I'm a little disappointed. You know, the fence looks pretty good from a distance!!! BUT....
... Where are the pics showing the micrometer alignment of the pickets, and clocked screws????
We are used to this kind of precision on your grass trimming ...
And this ....
And you don't have any closeups of the fence????
Sorry Steve!![]()
