Also last night that little 21" Intl that's been at $56.99 went to $48.99, but the shipping didn't change at $116 so I didn't bite.

I assume it's back up to $56.99 as all the others have increased.

I've seen Sears do these weird price drops for a few hours in the past. Not sure if intentional or a glitch but seems to happen later at night. That's why I ordered the 42 and 56 last night, I was afraid I'd wake up and the prices would have climbed

Do you have UPS My Choice premium membership? Because you would get unlimited free surepost upgrades to Ground.

No I don't have UPS anything-special

But I get packages pretty much every day and haven't picked up a Surepost from the PO in a long time. Just last week they brought me 2 Surepost packages w my Ground deliveries

UPS is huge on logistics and if, say, the truck that services your delivery address is different than the truck that would service your PO that might affect things.

My drivers are unbelievably competent (not joking - they're amazing) and maybe it's the driver's call. I could see my guys recognizing my name and just holding the package if they see they have other stuff for me.

It is still free shipping right now, but looking at my invoice, shipping charge for the 56in is $198.75 which would really kill the deal. I dunno how they make profit out of this deal, unless they only have a few and really want to get rid of them from their warehouse.

EDIT: hmm I just realize this am that the depth is 23.5in. In the excitement last night I thought depth is 18.25in (which actually # for height). I am going to have to rethink where I am going to place this box. All of my shelvings are ~18in wide, so this box is going to stick out a few inches.

Son, ya just gained 6" - stop complaining!

On the downside once you get used to 24" (granted the drawers are less but also true for 18") you'll start to see how limiting 18" boxes are....

Also while freight ain't cheap it seems to me some of Sears' stated freight charges are inflated or just "Joe off the street" prices. Sears *should* have better deals worked out w carriers - I know Amazon does

Freight is a whole other matter, though, I don't know much about that.
i do scheduling for a freight company and trust me--its usually late than early. cant tell you how many times i get cussed out on the phone because an item just got to us and i call to schedule and its 3 weeks past its delivery date already...

I also grabbed a black last night at $150 shipped. I blame you Tabs!
i'll take that hit  though i'll be honest--i probably should have bought the 56" to resell as it would have been under $25 OOP to my door. oh well, can't be unhappy either way

hmm I just realize this am that the depth is 23.5in.
i didnt notice that until you'd posted dims. so now its an even better deal. first world problems, eh?

Also last night that little 21" Intl that's been at $56.99 went to $48.99, but the shipping didn't change at $116 so I didn't bite.
i added it to my cart both with and without a free shipping freight item to see if it would piggyback on one of those, but no luck. each item calculates separately

Also while freight ain't cheap it seems to me some of Sears' stated freight charges are inflated or just "Joe off the street" prices. Sears *should* have better deals worked out w carriers - I know Amazon does
unless you live in a very urban area, the idea of getting something shipped via freight for $40 like some of these top boxes are showing is crazy. hell, our company's liftgate fee is $45. granted, im in WV where prices are little higher, but if my own box gets dropped to our dock for us to do the final mile delivery, we'd charge around $125 and i live in the 3rd largest city in WV. weve done plenty of sears toolbox deliveries to some of the more rural areas in the state and its not uncommon for the price to be $300+ to deliver--and that's just our end! theres usually 2-3 other companies between the warehouse and us

while places like amazon definitely have pull and can set their own prices, theyre forcing the middleman freight companies to lose lots of money, not only by giving them X amount to deliver a tv regardless of how far out/rural of an area, but also because they give the customer the choice of date/time for the delivery to come, plus added services such as a 2 man crew. to some of our outlying areas we might charge $600 for a 2 man tv delivery and that's if we set the appointment. if a middle company like pilot or demar does and we have to run a dedicated truck for it? itll be over a grand. and those companies have to swallow that loss or lose amazon's business. it hasnt come to a head yet but i fully expect it to as some of these companies go out of business trying to make amazon happy.

Yep, that's why mine usually get upgraded - I get my deliveries at a UPS Store where the trucks need to go several times a day anyway. Not eligible for UPS MyChoice since it's not a residential address.

Apologies if already posted, but does anyone have a link to the list of closing Hometown Specific stores? Not the normal Sears, just the Hometown stores. Again if this is already posted or a laughable request please don't chew me out. Just seeing special pricing on the hometown website at closing stores and wanted to find a more efficient method for viewing those with the special pricing.

There are no big lists of Hometown closings, AFAIK. There have been massive amounts of them closing over the last several years, but it's all piecemeal as individual franchisees decide to close, trickling out on their individual Facebook pages and local newspapers and such. I've heard that the best thing to do to find the closings that are actually relevant to you is use the store locator on searshometown.com, and it will indicate which stores in your area are currently liquidating.

That is a good question. I wish there is a list of closing Hometown stores. Two stores within 30-40 min from me were closed a while back and I was disappointed I did not know.

Showed that for me but was free my android app won't allow me to select my city for location so I didn't use the app. But that item is listed twice on the site same product but two links for it so maybe that was the issue. It showed as free oversized shipping same like the 42" shd I bought.

International 42 in. 4-Drawer is even lower too, at $79.89 (down from $93.**) and shipping shows as $39.25 for me, still a great price on a top box but not a hot buy so coupon eligible

International 56 in. 6-Drawer $169.99 w free ship. after $20/150 RMN thats $150 bucks to your door. crazy price

Both of these are showing temporarily unavailable for me. I think all the buyer probably comes from GJ. I do not see this got posted on SD.

The 42"-er I ordered yesterday was just cancelled.
I had tried to order a 56" last week but didn't get it either.
Are the rest of you getting yours?

Picked up a pretty nice 7' Christmas tree on clearance for about 75% off. Originally $400, came to $102. It has a rotating base, color changing LEDs with 8 or 9 modes including one that reacts to music. 2976dd012ac99423c1196747b4af51c1.jpg

With the CM and Int boxes getting cancelled (and online chat rep telling me I should check back in 24 hours cause they should be back in stock...uh huh)...I saw one of the white/gray 48" Kobalt tool carts on clearance at Lowes for $399 (it looked fantastic and felt of good quality)...so I bit on that instead with 10% off and bought the Bosch table saw w/stand that they're clearing out as well...

Less and less to be intrigued by at Sears...though I keep going to the two near me a couple times per week just in case prices drop sufficiently on remaining stock...

I got shipping notifications on a blue 56" Int'l top ($199), red 5-drawer 27" Int'l top ($144) and red Cman 3 drawer 27" top ($112) today. The latter will be a makeshift upper dresser for my gf.

I got a tracking # for my 56in black International top box ($150 + free shipping) but no status yet at http://demarlogistics.com

Estimated arrival still shows Jan 14, but I am getting very excited :bounce: surely it does not take a month to get here!

edit: but yeah, I know nothing of this Logistics company, maybe a shipping notice and tracking means very little

Yes, that white Kobalt looks fantastic. I am considering getting it to use in the kitchen pantry.

i just got shipping confirmation on my 42" INTL hutch too. wow, very surprised at that.

for those wondering, theres still a good chance itll take most of the estimated ship date to get to you, especially with the holidays the next two weeks. demar is a legit company and theyre the only one ive seen any kmart/sears freight come through, so they probably have the national contract with sears, however i dont know if they run their own trucks and if they do its just regionally. the freight will most likely interline with a minimum of one or two companies before it gets to your local carrier and thats where the time gets killed. dont worry if you cant track your package online after its started moving, if it shows with company X for so many days or if it shows being delivered but you didnt get it, that usually means it got transferred to a smaller company that doesnt do online updates. and finally but most importantly: dont be a **** to the dude that calls you to schedule your shipment, its not our fault it took a month to get to you

7avalon: where in ky are you?

ign: damn man, are you opening a garage lol. how many cabinets have you ordered recently?

sorry to the guys who got cancellations--like all things sears it doesnt seem theres any rhyme or reason to who gets their items versus who doesnt.

I ordered a box 11/18. It was shipped by Demars on 11/30 and arrived here in Pennsylvania 12/13 (could have been the 12th but I wasn’t here). Unfortunately it was missing pieces. A replacement was ordered 12/13 and I just got notice today that Demars was shipping that one. So Demars is legit and they are still shipping some.
