Here's some pictures from the "Bama Garage with dog bed" thread. Don't see a dog.

Some shots of my setup during the buildout process. My main tools/work area in front of the cars and some additional cabinets for my wife’s detailing supplies, next to the lift. Love the Pro series New Age!

How did you find mounting the cabinets to the metal walls?

How did you find mounting the cabinets to the metal walls?

I cut plywood to fit in between the ridges in the metal wall panels, screwed the plywood to the framing behind the wall panels and then secured the cabinets to the plywood. I just made certain the plywood was screwed into the 2x4 behind the metal wall panels. Easy enough to determine position as the nails securing the metal panels to the framing were visible.

Thanks. I know I'll be using metal on the ceiling, but still not sure what I'm going to be doing with the walls.

I am considering your cabinets for my new garage. Your sight lists two different prices for some of the sets should I just contact you direct for a quote?

The price for this 14 piece set model 58924 is 4839.99 retail on sale for 4109.99 you save $730.00. The price doesn't change for color or worktop material. If you want to include lighting or a backsplash or both the price will change accordingly.

NewAge asks their distributors to follow the monthly sale list for advertising. That means I can't list sale prices for all the sets cause not all the sets are on sale. If you're looking at a set that isn't on the monthly sale, send in a quote and I'll sell it to you at the sale price.

I went away for a work trip for a few days and I came back to an early Christmas gift to myself from NewAge cabinets:

Cabinets_1.jpg

I ordered 3 Pro 3.0 Upper Cabinets for above my work bench and 2 Bold 3.0 Multi-Use Lockers for next to my garage door on the far wall. I would have preferred to spend the extra for the Pro cabinets for the lockers but at 24" deep they would not have fit as well, the 18" deep Bold cabinets were perfect. I ordered the Lockers from Home Depot and the Uppers from New Age directly as that's where each of them was cheapest at the time I was ordering. Ironically they got drop shipped together anyways.

The cabinets come fully assembled as they are welded at the factory and mine were extremely well packaged and had no signs of damage whatsoever. The only assembly needed for the lockers were putting the feet on. In my case, I actually sat the back of the cabinet directly on the concrete foot around the perimeter of my garage and installed the front adjustable feet to achieve level in both directions.

Cabinets_2.jpg

If I had one complaint with the lockers, it is that the thinner gauge of steel allows them to flex a bit and ultimately the doors are a little sticky to open and close as our attempts to level the cabinet in every way and then screw into the wall under tension have pulled them slightly out of square. It's minor, I can happily live with it, but that's the closest thing to a complaint I can find.

Cabinets_3.jpg

The upper cabinets are absolutely awesome - not a thing I'd change about them. The sturdier gauge of steel is immediately obvious and I am glad I went with them for my more regularly used bench cabinets. I have drilled some holes to positively mount a powerbar since this photo was taken and intend to attach some mounting plates for Akro Mills bins to the doors of another cabinet for hardware storage.

Pallets.jpg

In case anybody is wondering... pallets totally fit into a Mazda3.

My whole build thread is here:

Since ordering these, my step father has been so impressed with mine he just specced a 14 piece Pro series for the new house they are just moving into this week. I am looking forward to seeing them.

Cheers,
Mark

Like those blue chests! I’ve been looking at the Newage cabinets for a couple of months. Wish they still made the Performance Plus series in blue as that set would be on my short list. I like the regular performance series but my concern I like what you experienced with the bold series. Oh well, I’ll just keep an eye out for sales ... :lol_hitti

Costco sells more in one hour in one store than I do all year. They get better pricing than I do. Make sure you post pictures of your installation process. Even if you didn't purchase from me, posts in Garage Journal are my best advertising.

Thanks for your support of small business.

That's a very honest answer there  The great thing with you is a person like me that does not really have use for a big set can get what he wants. Also i you offer good prices :bounce:

OK, quick question for you guys. I think I have finally decided on a NewAge Pro series 8 or 9 piece set. My question is how they are shipped. I'm sure it is freight which will be my dilemma. Where I live there is no way to get a semi down the road. Almost every time I have had something shipped freight, they want to meet me about 3-4 miles away and I have to load in my truck and get back to the house.

Do you think I can fit the full 8-9 piece set in the bed of a full size F150? From the pics on this thread it looks like it would be shipped on two pallets and I would think that it should fit, but wanted your ideas. If not, I'd have to load one pallet in the church parking lot, leave the other and come back after unloading at my house. Obvious reasons I'd rather not do that. Thoughts???

Thanks!

Sorry about your dilemma. Sets are packed LWWB for locker/wall/wall/base in the same box. So getting them into your truck might be a trick. You'll see a drop gate on the delivery truck, they might be able to hand truck the pallet into your truck.

Can you get another pickup and double team those babies.:beer:

Yep, In school, I was the kid in the back of the room making snarky comments.

Know anyone with a fork lift? Or rent one. Take it off the truck and drive em home skipping the pickup.

Edit, Missed the 3-4 mile part.

Ispeed,

Speaking from experience:

Give yourself LOTS of time to unpack the shipment. They are packed very well, but the shipping containers may be TALL and HEAVY (depending on what you purchase). If you positively, absolutely can't get it shipped to your curb, you'l need a dry secure area to stage the initial delivery. Then, allow yourself several hours to unpack everything, and you will probably need THREE trips in an F-150 to deliver everything after unpacking (two for the cabinets and one for disposal of the packing material).

I was fortunate to have a semi driver who was kind enough to pallet-jack the crates up my 100-ft driveway, but two of the crates were too tall to get into my garage. Fortunately it was a pleasant dry day, and we went well into the evening unpacking everything to get it into the garage.

Of course it was well worth it.

Rethinking this it doesn't necessary come on semi. Mine shipped via R&L and once at the terminal they call and schedule actual delivery. At that time you could request it be sent on a box truck which will have a pallet jack. Any major carrier should be similar.

When mine were delivered I got a call from the driver saying he couldn’t bring his truck down my road. (I’m 1 mile down a dead end road) he told me they would have to put my shipment on a bobtail truck and deliver the next day. They wound up trying two more times with the 18 wheeler before coming with the bobtail. One of my cabinets had some damage and when I made a claim on the damage they sent the replacement on a bobtail truck as well.
I’m very happy with the cabinets and their customer service. I set all my cabinets in one day.

My 6 small ones came via fedex (if i remember correct) my locker came in a box truck and the entire truck was all new age cabinets. they are very well packed so they are much bigger than the size of the cabinet. My locker was taller than my standard attached garage door so it had to stay outside till i got off of work that day,

I don't think you could get a big set in a F150 I used my C1500 to move my locker back to my shop and it alone took up most of the bed laying on its side

Thanks for all the replies. I was thinking about standing them up and not laying them down to make more room in the bed, but dittle others bring up a good point on the weight of the pallet. Guessing maybe 3-400 lbs per pallet (maybe more). I thought it might be like a fridge in terms of size and weight. Might be a little much to lift from the ground, into the bed of the truck.

I'm still having spacial issues trying to how two pallets from the eight piece set can't fit into a truck, but admit that isn't my strong suit. From pictures I've seen online and reviews, it appears that NewAge ships them in a configuration of Locker, 2 wall cabinets & 1 base on one pallet and Locker, 1 wall and 1 base on the other pallet. Maybe I'm wrong ... Luckily, I have an 8' garage door that I can wheel these things in without having to leave them outside. With the flooding we have been getting that will help out since it feels like we haven't had a dry day in about 3-4 months.

Anyway, I'm going to need to plan this out and figure how I'm going to get them home. Off to do a little more research.

Also, this is an amazon page with the 8 piece set on a pallet (in the reviews section). This is why I thought I could get it in a truck and the different model numbers/packaging config dittle mentioned.

If I purchase from you, how does the warranty process work?

NewAge handles it. My locker had a stupid simple issue where you could see writing on the steel before powdering coat . they sent me 2 news ones. and it really was not that big a deal to me

New Age sent me a pair silver/platinum locker doors to replace a pair of gray ones that have a ding. If anyone wants to come pick them up in NH let me know. They are sending gray ones and don’t want these back.

Pro 3.0 set with two of Newages 56” steel worktops. I’m happy with the build quality and the next level customer service. Also super excited for how it turned out with my Classic 78 in place. I did replace the box’s casters with some steel 4x4’s to line everything up. Still have a few little things to finish up and then off course start filling up all the cabinets. IMG_1396.jpg

I’d like to send a big thanks to John for helping me out. We worked together to find something that would work for me dimensionally, 200x200. I wanted maximum working space and I ended up with 308 inches in length, useable table top space. It’s going to be awesome. He was great, informative and prompt. He saved me a TON of money. Shop independent and help support a family, not a billion dollar corporation. I’ll post pictures once the garage is done.

Thanks to all the informative reviewers on this site. You have helped me with your reviews and gave me all the information I could ask for. I was originally thinking about going with the 24 gauge set up, but based off your real world experience I decided to go with the 18 gauge set up.
