I've resisted asking this long, but I've got to know... What's the story on the candle?

My staff gave it to me for Christmas. When you share a bathroom with 12 women at work, they all blame the two men for any ‘issues’....so, I figured I’d add it to the pics to see how long it was before someone mentioned it [emoji41]

Very nicely done!

Where did you get your table top?

It’s a Bally from American Workplace. It’s 24x96. It’s a stock size.
I have a 24x68 custom size I’ll pick up later tonight or tomorrow when it arrives at the terminal. It’s going here...ba9e4700b8653363571c2df30c24e593.jpg

There's NOTHING at all wrong with a nice candle in your shop! :yikes:

I figured it was either a funny story or some legitimate purpose - curiosity got the best of me.

I was going to make a joke about "man candles" in the garage, but to be honest, I'm legitimately interested in ordering a few from this site (its for a good cause too).

I'm thinking Gun Powder, New Mitt, and Grandpa's Pipe. Probably not for the garage, but for my den/office.

Nice set up, gr8smiles. I wish I had held out for the blue HF tool chests--they'd match my lift and Mustang better the red ones I got on sale.

:headscrat I never thought of candles as being unmanly. I used to make and sell them when I was in my early 20's. :dunno:

Here's mine. The top is 12' 3" long x 30" deep made from a couple solid core church doors that I scored for free on Craigslist. I built a wood base for now to see if the size works out or not since my garage is only 17' x 20' and then I will build a Steevo inspired bench with a HF 44" box on either end of the bench with space in the middle for a couple stools for my 6 year old and myself to work on projects together.

Can't really see the pulls on the cabinets, but I bet you could find some cool garage related ones for those cabinets.

And your choice of storage location for used oil and gas makes my **** pucker. :lol_hitti

Funny how you do things and think nothing of it then someone sees something and makes you reevaluate your life. Man no kidding I am going to move that stuff asap. At least its not by the welder... Ha!

That does look good! What did you use for the bench top surface?

It's unused surplus trailer floor. I got it from an industrial salvage, and as the guy there said "it's harder than woodpecker lips". I considered a steel top, but I really prefer the warmth of wood.

Thanks Fisherguy. It's my dream shop so won't be moving from this place anytime soon. It's a hell of a good place to hang out by myself when my wife and two daughters are "sync'd up".

Built my rolling setup a few years ago. The top center section can be removed to expose a hole for my router, as well as a place to drop in my chop saw.

Here's a few we've built for clients here in mid michigan. My buddy and I started Michigan bench co. Since there is nothing on the market that's nice and sturdy like a handbuilt bench.
