So is 10/18 $10 back on tools or not? I see hexen crossed out his post on it.

I didn't cross out anything. I used a few dashes as a dividing line in my post this morning; I've changed that to a single dash in case that was somehow causing confusion.

The $10 was showing up just fine when I looked at those tap/die sets this morning, and $60 ($50+$10) on the one that's over $100.

According to company news shared on SD this afternoon by dampier, Eddie Lampert's hedge fund ESL "is lending TransformCo another $150M... already. One of the other lenders was told that by the end of 2019, additional store closures would leave a combined footprint of ~300 Sears/Kmart stores across the entire chain." And "He is looking for external loans to pay for holiday sale goods (a little late) probably because nobody will ship stuff on credit. If you are seen putting up internal money, it may make it easier to attract external loan partners."

Thanks Hexen....current markdown price = $36.94 minus my points made it a deal. The Rethreader gives me another option.

Cool. :) I think that was a typo this morning, it has been $36.94 all day, not $39.94. Fixed it now.

Just used the chat to order some things that didnt show free shipping. Not as easy and just adding to cart and buying but they gave me the $5 freecash and gave me free shipping. Got the 3/8" mach t handle, the 1/4" still doesnt show available for shipping. Also got the serpentine belt tool, some more craftsman bags, a craftsman shirt (those are nice if you haven't gotten them), the socket adapters so you can use a wrench, and a 1/2" beam torque wrench.... Thanks for the links!

This Is the chat that populates sometimes when you sign into Sears. Com?

And they will take your order and credit card info to process the items you want?

Yep, that chat. :) For out-of-pocket payment, they will give you a link to a special secure form to provide your credit card info in.

Yep, they give you the total and a secure link to pay. Works ok

For some reason I got 5 emails for confirmations. They placed separate orders.

If I had put $4 more on there I wouldve gotten $15 free cash, o wells.

The chat agents are sometimes pushy about letting them place an order for you, so I've wondered about whether they have a quota to meet. That may explain why they split up your order.

My store's tool department looks like they have set up their holiday bins, but it's all tool ghosts of Christmas past. No brand new tools at all.

Yeah, I have suspected a quota too. But Sears tends to ship each item separately even when ordered together, so unless it interferes with your meeting a threshold to earn or use points/freecash, I guess they might as well.

And I'm not surprised to hear there's no new-new tools, had only heard they were making some packaging changes. They can barely hang onto their existing suppliers... I'd settle for some restocking.

Many Blowout items are currently missing their 'Hot Buy' tag, so discount coupon codes can now be applied on them.

Like the $5 off $35 on tools or $20 off $150 storewide from RetailMeNot.

I guess the Ultimate Collection is not selling well, because some of those sets are part of this 3-day flash sale. :dunno:

Even when Sears splits up the shipping for an order of mine with multiple items, they send me only a single order confirmation email (soon after placing the order). Is it not the same for others?

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye out for that new "black packaging" you previously mentioned, but no luck yet.

That guy's post had sounded like chat made multiple completely-separate orders for him, which hasn't happened to me personally (but I haven't ordered through chat a lot of times, and it's always either been for a single item or using FC when I do), but sounded like something that would make some sense for them to do. Not just split shipping on an order you place yourself.

Well, don't be too disappointed if the rumored packaging change never shows up at your store (or anywhere for all I know - haven't seen any at my store yet either), my first post on the subject was just relaying what some random person had claimed elsewhere. :) I have no idea what Sears is doing. :dunno:

I got an text from Sears a couple hours ago claiming that there is a "Craftsman Flash Sale! EXTRA 10% OFF thru Wednesday". I checked several of the items on my list, both blowout sale and regular-price items, and there was no additional 10% off on any of them.

Then I found on the Sears.com homepage that the 10% is only on a small 42-item list of "select items only", which the text msg neglected to mention. :p And it is also being promoted on the homepage as including both tools and lawn & garden items, but the only L&G is a few $500+ snow throwers and one $3000+ riding mower.

Yeah ours are out too as of today, except for one screwdriver set they don’t normally have it’s the same as usual.

I didn’t even get the alert, my wife forwarded it to me. Snowblowers I can understand they’ve gotten a bunch in the last few weeks. Some of the tool sets are decent deals except I don’t need any of them.

I'm not sure how recently it was added to the blowout sale, but I just checked on the cotter pin removal tool since yrly mentioned it in the other thread, and found it's a great deal right now if you don't have one yet:

Craftsman Cotter Key Extractor
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-cotter-key/p-00949805000P
$2.94 blowout sale, $8.99 regularly (was $7.99 regularly when I bought it 2.5 months ago)
Available for home shipping and ship-to-store pickup, at least for me.

It has a great handle that matches the door trim removal tools. (I wish they used that handle style more! Maybe they used to have it on more tools years ago, I don't recall.)

prod_1615196612

A couple other related tools on similar discounts that came up from looking at that one:

Craftsman Brake Spring Washer Tool
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-brake-spring-washer-tool/p-00947767000P
$2.94 blowout sale, $7.99 regularly
Available for home shipping and ship-to-store pickup, at least for me.
spin_prod_229515901

Craftsman Adjusting Brake Tool
https://www.sears.com/craftsman-adjusting-brake-tool/p-00945496000P
$2.94 blowout sale, $7.99 regularly
Available for home shipping, but can only be picked up at stores that still have it locally, and mine doesn't.
spin_prod_1133701112

Nice little prybar even if you don't need to adjust drum brakes.

People on SD say this compressor is a good deal, as it went on sale for $310 at Home Depot a few days ago.

Hulk by EMAX Hulk HP02P020SS 2 HP 20 Gallon Silent Air Portable Compressor
https://www.sears.com/hulk-by-emax-2hp-20-gal-silent/p-A023671293
$239.94 blowout sale price ..., $479.99 regularly

Available for free ship-to-store pickup; home shipping costs money unless you convince a rep to waive it.

Air Consumption at 40 PSI (SCFM): 8.39
Air Consumption at 90 PSI (SCFM): 5.77
125 MAX PSI
Weight: 103.8 lbs.

Oh, and to sweeten the deal, looks like this bonus cashback offer just started this morning 10/13 ...

"Members get $50 CASHBACK in points total in 2 installments when you spend $100+ at Sears. 1st set issued next day, then [2nd installment] 15 days after. Pts valid for 14 days. Max 1 per day. Offer valid 10/13-11/16."

For those who ordered the Hulk compressor and were worried whether it would really ship at that price, someone on SD got their store pickup notification today 10/22, so things are looking good. :)

Yes, the two brake tools I posted a couple days ago have jumped up from $2.94 to $4.99 now. :( The cotter pin tool is still $2.94, though.

Chat was a lot more helpful than PS for me yesterday. I had some points and $5 off $15, want to buy this item and will need to pay OOP. I tried ordering straight from the website but it kept giving me shipping fee eventhough the total is well above $35.

So I pinged PS (which is a new PS, not my usual PS. Not sure where my usual PS is now - I think she had left the company?). Explained the situation. Specifically mentioned using my points and $5 off $15. 2.5 hr later - she ordered it with full OOP without using points and $5 off $15, and charge me shipping too. wtf  So I told her to cancel it immediately. This morning she said the order was already shipped so when it arrived, I need to send it back. I had a feeling yesterday when I told her to cancel it, she did not cancel the order. Short term memory problem?

Any suggestion who is a good PS? DM me if you do not want to post the name in open forum.

After wasting my time with this PS, I chat with chat agent. 10 min later, my order was placed. There was a glitch, so I ordered it with shipping fee and they will refund the fee.

So I did a ship to store order and picked it up yesterday. Sears really missed the mark on this, at my store at least.

You find the empty lobby over by the mattresses and scan your bar code with the kiosk shown. You then have to manually enter your credit card number because the reader is broken. Now your name pops up on the screen in the corner and a timer starts. After a few minutes someone comes out from the back and hands you your order which has a your name and order number hand written on a sheet of paper that's taped to a plastic shopping bag.

Mind you, there's absolutely no one in this part of the store.
