Same problem here - I bought an M6 figuring that the ALI certification meant it was a safer lift than the regular Maxjax. So far I am 3 for 3 on vehicles getting stuck on the lift....one of my posts binds and won't go down. I've figured out that if I put a floor jack on the end of the vehicle that's causing the lift to bind, then slowly relieve pressure off of that side of the arm (I watch for the slide block to barely shift away from the wall of the post), I can then lower without any trouble.
I emailed my sales contact, who referred me to a technical contact. This was the suggestion:
The factory may have painted the inside of the posts with the textured matte black paint. The abrasive texture of the new paint, if not sanded will is cause the slide blocks on the carriage to hang up. Sanding the ID of the posts will 100% resolve the issue.
Sent a pic and got this response--
Josh,
Your lift is Matte. Please follow the instructions in the e-mail. It’s hard to say which lifts will be affected because some lifts have more texture than others. The lifts with heavier texture are the lifts affected, like yours.
Please let me know once you finish the modification and have lubricated the columns. This will resolve the issue.
