Sorry, I can’t do it. I can give you a Top 10 (or so) from the first 6 months of the year. That’s as far as I got in going through my posts, I don’t have the energy to go through the next 6 months worth of posts or the decisiveness to try to whittle it down further!

I am very fond of this antique display case with smoked, cut glass. First of all, because I really need cases to display my 1920’s era wood box socket sets. Secondly, because it was FREE! I was walking my dog early on bulk pick up day for the Public Works and it was out at the curb. Thirdly, because it came out of a locally famous barber shop. My ‘deja vu all over again’ wartime Chapman midget bits set (Flea Market find) has to make my personal cut. The backstory here is I found one a few years ago and sent it to Chapman (still family owned and operated!) for a little front office museum they have, so I was thrilled to be lucky enough to find another. That's worth fixing because it's a 3 tube model. Most are 1 or 2 tube.

Yeah, I was happy to see it has 3 tubes. My other two which have the heavy base are 2-tubers. This one is screw or bolt down model.

- Empty Billings midget socket set case. (No, I don't have any Billings midget pieces, but you never know...)

- Barcalo-Buffalo GMTK-spec 3/4 x 5/8 dwarfie double offset DBE

- S-K and Plomb WF-23 3/8-inch drive speeders

- Two (2) K-D ratcheting DBE's. Half way to a second set (See here.)

- Blackhawk-Armstrong Hexite 4725 (1/2 x 7/16) DOE wrench

- Williams Chro-Moly 1984 1/2 x 7/16 DBE with 4-point openings

- Bonney Bonaloy 2893C (11/16 x 3/4) DBE wrench ***This right here is the diamond in the rough wrench of the entire haul. Here’s a little pile I picked up at a FB MP post.
Lady and husband did the storage units and this was truly a pick. House under renovation and boxes, crates and totes everywhere.

Had to climb over, squeeze between, move multiple boxes of everything to make sure I didn’t miss a thing. Hell, at one point I lost my pile I started!!


Added to my tywrap stock, the white ones are 36” long.

Was the day of aluminum RIDGID pipe wrench’s.
Couple Vise grip Dewitt welding clamps.
Three nice CM rats
Industro breaker with square tip on handle end.

A Bluepoint round handle DBE, this will reside on the lathe

A lot of the tools were dipped in a plasti-coat like coating.

This CM rat is different to me, with the bolted cover rather than the snap ring. Anyone know anything about this one?

Congrats again Lugz. Apparently I was the only one to go back and respond in the poll thread. That trophy rocks.

On the MTF box, cool find. There is one for sale here with a repaired hasp. I knew exactly what it was and thought maybe I'd get it for a 20 or so, but no dice. Antiques lady told me some super high price, even in it's current state. You know how that goes. Perhaps I'll try again some time.

Found my best garage sale of the year late this year. There was a bunch of cool stuff I don’t have room for, but I was able to bring home some goods for 15 bucks.
The first picture is the lot, minus some books. The second is plomb, proto, and snap on at the top. The third is misc. wrenches, Walden ratchet, 6 and 4” adjustable, crown top box cutter etc... the fourth is the best of the 1/4” drive in a Walden box- craftsman =v=, snap on, duro, long c, along with 3 cross bars!

Now the books. 3 are cool old submarine paperbacks, but the other two are really neat. One is a 1941 navy watch officers guide with the table of honors still in the back, and the other is a 1955 torpedomans’s mate handbook with a nice fold out of the after body of a mk. 14 torpedo.

Look on the underside of the foot and see if there's a tapped hole. They made a clamp kit that had a stud, clamp jaw, and a wing nut.

Drive-by estate sale on way home from VA.
Complete oxy-acetylene torch set.
Full-size Harris regs, 50' of 1/4" hose, 2x cutting tips, 1x rosebud tip, cart, wrenches, strikers, privately-owned tanks (sizes s & q) w/caps.
$40
Also scored a '60s-era Muntz 4-track automobile tape player for another $5.
As with torches, needs cleaning and check-out, but gives me something to play my oddball 4-tracks.

Two Popular Mechanics (PM) screw-drivers, 1$. Sizes: No. 3 Philips and a same size flat-head.

They look and feel decent and have those ribbed tips. Don't anything about the brand, but they are made in the USA.

Hit a few sales in the last couple of days, braving the rain. Protip; don't park on what appears to be a side road in a sparsely developed area, as that might be the property of the owner of a tow company! Saw a lot of people fall into this trap, sadly. But anyway, the first one had a lot of interesting stuff, but the company had gone through and cleaned everything up, priced it and often put it in bundles. Grrrr... Anyway, I bought a Craftsman box from the '90s full of sorted out sockets (by drive size) which ended up having some interesting stuff I was interested in. Also, a Snap-on speeder for a buck and a P&C DBE so old it is marked Milwaukee. Oh, and a tommy bar. $17

Sockets are all interesting; Snap-on, SK, Plomb, Cornwell, Thorsen, P&C, Hinsdale, Craftsman and so on. Also a Snap-on 9/32 spinner and Snap-on ratcheting adaptor from '37, which was caked with old grease inside. A WWII SK midget box that had been repainted was included.

The next two looked good but had been picked over by the time I got there. Still, found some interesting stuff.

Paschal 12oz, SK diamond rat, long C BE flex, Klein speed driver, Thorsen rat, Cornwell tappet, Bonney DBE, Proto LA combo, early Channellock's, Starrett double square, and two empty SK Wayne boxes. $28. Not sure if the Paschal has the original handel, but if not I think I have a spare.

I think that haul deserves a BIG you ****. There is 3 1/3" cross bars in that box. Not mention the Plomb and snap on stuff. I bet there is a couple hundred bucks there is value there.

Looks like everyone is having good luck this week--congrats all!

Here's my contribution:
Thursday was a little disappointing, starting at an industrial sale where I hoped to get a Colombian 505 vise cheap--no luck--they wanted $200 and it seemed a little sloppy when I turned the handle. The business' owner had a nice mid-sized Reed vice that he said he was keeping for himself.
The second stop produced the set of tiny Craftsman -v- combo wrenches and the Proto 6" adjustable. $1 together. I bought a newish (2010) Craftsman two-drawer tool box for $5 (empty--not pictured) but when I got it home there was rattling from under the bottom drawer. After fighting with the slides (the drawers are really cheaply made and very thin metal) I finally got the drawer out and found a CM wrench and punch, a polishing stone, a Langline ratcheting DBE and a Bulldog ratcheting screwdriver. Bonus!



Today's haul was even better--I was just going to hit the highlights, but I'm pretty excited about everything! For 17 Bucks I got:

Nearly new eye protection
Two fat-handled screwdrivers to go with an even larger one I already have
A couple of soft wire wheel cups
Two cool small oil cans--one with a cap welded to the spout to use when not using the can
Two pristine 7" Vise Grips--one standard, one hex grip
A set of Kromedge Tool&Die Makers files from Finland
A Japanese set of needle files (you can never have too many files!)
Two stamping set--one numbers, one letters
A couple of dental picks that need sharpening
An 8" Bergman Queen Bee Adjustable w/ "Pat.Pending" cast
A set of Indestro "Classic" 1/2" sockets from 7/16" thru 1"
An Indestro 5" extension for the 1/2" sockets and 3 3/8" Indestro sockets
A Stanley 12' tape measure ( I lost the one I took out on the hunt yesterday...)

I was going to buy the Rockwell belt sander and belts for $15 but it failed the ops check. Click, click on the trigger and not a shiver from the motor. The guy said "Well, I guess that's shot." I agreed and offered to get rid of it for him. So he gave it to me. Of course, now I have another project...



I'm new to the Indestro habit, so when I got home I started researching the sockets and realized, to my dismay, the two completely unbranded 1/2" ratchets that I decided not to buy were, in fact, the matching Indestro ratchets for my sockets--why the hell didn't Indestro mark their damn ratchets?? I hope they're still there when I go back tomorrow!

Anyway last month I picked up some stuff from an estate sale.

That included a rusty/dirty/greasy HUOT brand toolbox containing some kind of hydraulic ram tool. Turned out the ram kit was a Hein Werner Pushmaster that was just stored in the box.

I tried out the Grez-Off degreaser I saw recommended here, worked great, got everything clean, and since I have way to many empty old carry boxes already and no need for a ram, put them both on Marketplace, $40 for box and $75 for ram. Sold both the next day as a package for $90 !

So, a last desperate round of fleas this crisp morning. Jake’s was very nearly deserted, but I managed two items, in the hopes the threaded wing (14tpi on rod less than 7/16”, marked “98”) might fit some table vise, and the crowntop-logo Craftsman wood chisel would be the size I’m missing from an otherwise complete 4pc set.
A follow-up at Quakertown turned up two good vendors with hand tools, but the better one was at Jake’s last Sunday, so I had already picked through his stuff recently. Nada.
Tomorrow should be ten or fifteen degrees warmer (and better-attended), but I may not be in range.

A nice find. Interesting, too, because the all steel ones show up, also underline or Long C, but with a (R) trademark symbol, ******* them as 1946 or later. I have never seen one without it.
