LS, I think you ****! I'd pay $35 for the Craftsman box all day! Never seen one in the wild. Yet. ;-)

That's funny. And true! Mastering that indifferent look, saunter, and tone of voice is hard to master when you're ready to jump over a fence to get something!Good thing the price was good as I think I lost all negotiating power leaping that fence.
TX what is wrong with the tape? Won't go all the way in? Have you pushed the center button? That is the release...
If that's not the issue then I see one screw is musing take the last screw out adn wind the two halves a turn or three then replace the screw... (and find another screw,,)
Gah. It pains me to see those lunchpail boxes. One of my stupidest 'stupid me' flea market stories. I've told it many times. Didn't like the price. Thought I'd be able to talk him down at the end of the day after walking around, and of course, it was gone. Even thumbed the grime off the decal for someone else to be able to ID it more easily.
JoCo has a good tutorial on them in the Long C thread.

TX, just keep the two halves held close together the "escaping snake" can happen, its just time consuming to rewind these puppies...

Yeah, not for nothin', but if you even think of making a Frozen Whiskey Smash or a Frozen Drunk Uncle etc etc with that white oak single malt, I am going to play my Hostem Emeritus card and ban you myself!750 ml. Scotch bottle added for scale. Blender is 16 inches tall!

It has been slow around here for the last couple of months...less than $40.00.
My first score of the new year...3 Disston saws for parts...Was quite excited about the Bonney ratchet, and made 2 rookie moves.
Thanks! That 1949 illustration is a match. I tried keyword searches for “lunchbox” and “tombstone” without success on the longC and heritage love threads without success, then bogged down reading the first lines of JoCo’s prolific posts with a username search... approximately what post number is the tutorial around?

I always pay attention to the secondary intent of size context product placement, especially when it exhibits great taste!I was wondering if anybody would recognize that bottle of one of the best from the isle of Islay.
Ha ha

I drink such single malt whiskys neat. And needless to say in moderation.

Those cabinets have a great look!
and LUGZ - the barristers are nice!
I love storage, esp. with glass fronts for display!

+1!I'm giving you a "You ****" for being so lucky!
I've been holding off any hunts until I got my garage built up enough so my "storage" wasn't a pile in the center of the garage (Finally have a garage and installing drywall!) but with an estate sale 2 blocks away I couldn't help myself!
Looking forward to seeing the movie--but I'll leave the knife at home!$83.25 for all that, and a cantilever box? I think that deserves a “Je zuigt!”

It's nice when the picker fairies smile upon us! Nice bit of luck, there, tx!I posted my first Wilton bullet vise (4" jaws) yesterday. It had the vise nut, vise nut housing and end cap missing. The pins to retain the vise nut are bent and the swivel base plate has a thru crack in it. Paid $40 thinking it's a parts vise plus some getting familiar with bullet vises before I get to parting it out. I got a text this morning from the guy I bought it from Sunday morning. This is the pic he sent me...
I went to pick it up immediately. He didn't want more for the vise either. We both agreed how lucky it was that his son not only found it in the garage but recognized it might be something before everything gets thrown out on Tue.
Yes! I am thanking my lucky stars! [emoji481]
Cool find!I saw this blue cab on fb marketplace for $40. Turned out it was from the owner of an industrial resale shop. He is in his 30s and bought the business from someone else. He buys out old shops and resells the contents or scraps them out for parts, but he also gets a lot of stuff not worth his time. This was something that he didn't want to put in the scrap bin cause he mostly deals with heavy metal machining equipment, but also has little things. It turned out to be a Le Febure Corp out of Iowa. They made things for banks it looks and there was an old Boatmen's bank zipper case lost in the back with a '43 mercury dime.
He said I should look around. He has a yard full of rusting behemoths antique and old. Inside the "shop" I was astonished about the quantity of materials. I felt like I was on American Pickers. He had nuts and bolts organized for $2/ lb lathes, mills, an old Pexto brake, flat file cabinets, a cigarette machine all pushed and shoved together and on top. I almost missed this green cabinet.
He had to clear out the remaining bolts out of it and he thought it was some sort of dental cabinet. We dolly it out to the pickup and I see the brass Chevrolet emblem on the bottom! What I had thought was a cool cab already turned out to be a Chevy dealer parts cab! I will have to do some resto to it and may end up in the house instead of the garage. He also had 4 oak machinist chests, some were Gerstner, and I left him my number for when he prices out a vintage older brown one.
I have attached a pic of the flat file, I did not buy it and I would have a hard time to justify the purchase at the moment, but this was stacked onto 5 others about 15 ft tall. My wife would have definitely not liked me for a while with our 1300 sq ft house
All in for $90.

This too!...and there was an old Boatmen's bank zipper case lost in the back with a '43 mercury dime.
I’m sorry - I screwed up a detail of the story! It was marked $38, and she agreed to $35. No wonder Outlaw questioned that. So I guess that made it closer to 10% off day for me.
