The clips should be loose. Using your finger, pull the clip away from the side of the cabinet. The hanger should drop in - it did for me today.

Sent from my iPad using The Garage Journal mobile app

Clips fit loose in the slots, there just isn’t enough room between the clip and the cabinet wall to get the hangar in. I may try shaving down one side of a couple clips and see if that works.

Just discovered these NewAge cabinets and am thinking about them for my two parking spaces in my condo underground garage. (Currently just old plywood cabinets at the front of the spaces.)

I only have 77.5" of height though, so the Pros are out because they're too tall. So I'm looking at the Bold sets which should fit (have 241" width, so plenty of room for a good set). But all the Bolt drawers seem to have castor wheels, are there any without castors or is there a solution there? I don't want something that could be easily wheeled away.

Sorry not the best pic but you can see the existing cabinets in the back.

Which set are you looking at that have castors? I have the 8-piece bold set and there are no castors on either of my cabinets.

The NewAge Bold rolling tool cabinet is sold as a roll a round cabinet. It's smaller than the 2 door base cabinet so it can roll in and out with space to spare. The 2 door base cabinet is 24" wide, the rolling tool cabinet is 20-3/4" wide. You could take the casters off and mount them to the wall. The tool cabinet would be shorter and narrower, that would make a gap toothed cabinet run. Not a good look.

A fixed tool cabinet in the Bold line is not offered right now.

I was looking at this set:
https://www.shopstoragecabinets.com...newage-bold-3-0-series-14-piece-cabinet-set-1

So if I want all floor standing cabinets, are there any in the Bold line that have drawers?

I suppose alternatively I could get the base cabinets from Pro (24" deep) and the tall closets in Bold (to meet my 77" requirement) and just put a spacer behind the cabinet so they are al flush across the front.

Waterloo Tool Cabinets sued China for dumping cheap tool cabinets on the US market. This was a couple of years ago. NewAge changed it's manufacturer and dropped the older fixed tool cabinets. Depending on how old your cabinets are they may have had 3 drawers or four.

At this time NewAge does not make a Bold fixed base cabinet with drawers. You're only choice at this time is the rolling tool cabinet with casters.

Sorry.

Does anyone have pictures of the 12 piece set installed on 1 wall? I am thinking about buying and would like to see real life pictures in a garage. Preferably in grey. The lenght I am referring to is 18.33 ft.

Thanks!

I recently ordered NA cabinets from DFA and he was great to deal with including good pricing. I already had the large Pro 3.0 locker and added to it with a 28 inch and 42 inch base cabinets. These cabinets seem to be very well built and I really like the top pull out shelves on the base units.

Now the wait begins for several of the matching tall wall cabinets, which are back ordered for a while. So in mean time, I can start fabricating my new work bench.

I wanted the Red but for that price, I think I'm going to have to order the gray!

Question: Can the tall cabinet be installed tight in a corner or does there have to be a space left from the side wall to give the door room to open?

NewAge cabinets have flush mounted doors and handles. The cabinet case has about 3/4" of folded sheet metal all the way around the doors. No problem jamming that thing into the corner.

Maybe not jam it, but mount it as close as you need.

Red is available now.

Yeah, but apparently only to the rest of Canada! When I saw the post about the sale I jumped right on it. Logged on to Costco Online made the purchase, went to the check out and no go! They won't ship the cabinets to NL.

Looks like I will be buying Husky or some other product from Home Depot or Kents! *****!!

HD USA has near Costco prices on a few sets today, though dittle fart around is really price competitive as well.

I ordered a set of cabinets from Sam’s Club a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately before I knew about ordering them through the dittle here. I ordered an additional upper cabinet from him though.

I received word from Sam’s Club that my order is shipping and will be here next week. Anybody know if my single upper cabinet will come at the same time? I’ve heard they’ll ship from the same warehouse usually.

I sent an email off to New Age as well but have not heard anything back yet

What is the difference in the Bold 3 kits and the Performance 2? I know different cabinets for different sets, I'm more interested in Quality, build material and finishing?

Bold and Performance are made to the same price point. They both are made of 24 gauge sheet metal. Performance and Performance Plus cabinets are no longer being made. The only remaining Performance cabinets are available on ShopNewAge.com.

Hope this helps.

Cheers man!

I recently got a set of the Bold (wasn't a forum member at the time, sorry diddle).

They came very well packaged, no damage, really easy to put together, and I love them. My set came with (2) 30" full height cabinets, (2) 24" base cabinets, (2) rolling tool carts, (2) 48" worktops, and (4) 24" top cabinets. My garage configuration didn't allow me to mount everything in one run, so I put the tall cabinets and the 2 tool carts all together, and I roll the tool carts to the side and roll a chair in there when I want to use the area as a workstation. The other cabinets I have yet to install, but they will mount on the other side of a door. Nothing too fancy, but I love it.

It seems that it’s pretty safe to assume you cannot get these cabinets anyway except in the factory correct? I received all my cabinets in, but need to order one additional cabinet. I had one additional cab ordered, but they are on national back order. With some rearranging I can make my set up work with a 24 inch upper cabinet instead of a 36 inch. It’s just kind of a bummer I have to wait 3 to 5 weeks for a single cabinet.

So - Anybody know where I can get a 24 inch upper bold series 3.0 red cabinet a whole lot quicker than 3 to 5 weeks?

NewAge doesn't import bold 24" wide wall cabinets in red. Red wall cabinets are available in sets only. Apparently red is not the best seller.

The red 36" wall cabinet is returning to stock in the fall.

Looks fantastic. I particularly like the white cabinets against the white walls.

BUT,.....my OCD is "pinging" over the cabinets & tool box height not matching. Any reason why the cabinets couldn't be mounted higher to match? Or if so, remove the tool box casters and sit it atop a wood base?

I plan on being able to move the tool box to the opposite end of my garage when working on car engine. But maybe I’ll find that I don’t move it at all. Then I would make them the same height. The workbench height is about 40-1/2”, any higher it wouldn’t be comfortable for me.

I’m happy with mine! I used the stainless countertops on a bench Frame I made in order to get layout I wanted.

The New Age countertops are light duty. Thin layer of stainless that will dent and 1” wood underneath. If you need a bench to beat on, use a different one.

I try to tell all my customers to use the bamboo worktops. The bamboo tops are laminated bamboo all the way through. Bamboo is a hard surface used just like maple butcher block. Bamboo is sustainable, grows quickly and used though out the world.

How likely is it to stain though, with all the normal bench work a garage would see? I've been considering doing what many others have, and just build a subtop from 3/4" ply and sheath it with 1/8" steel from a local supplier. Probably would end up costing the same as the stainless top from NewAge.

Another good question is how to fix scratches in the bamboo. Asking for a friend......

I have one bamboo and one stainless. Can’t beat on either. They just aren’t that type of top. Use a different bench for whacking stuff with a mini sledge.

My upcoming work bench top will be a 4x10 sheet of 3/4 plywood ripped to 24" and doubled up. MAYBE I'll put 1/8" Masonite on it.

I don't intend to do much dirty work anymore nor any real pounding. I have a small steel weld/persuasion table I bought from Craigslist. It's ugly as sin and greasy but very solid that is in dire need of cleaning, grinding, filling & painting. It'll do for my limited needs.

Is it possible to hang base cabinets as wall cabinets? I have a 40” wide 24” deep safe in my garage, and I think a base cabinet over the top would be a nice way to make a built-in look for the safe, while giving lots of out-of-reach storage for ammo. Thoughts?

I just hung base cabinets over my washer & dryer with no issues. The pro base cabinets come with the same hanging mounts as the wall cabinets. The only issue I ran into was having to drilling new holes in the adjacent locker.

That’s good to know. Thanks! I envision this cabinet even sitting on the safe as well, so plenty strong. Seeing everyone hanging these base cabinets without feet gave me the idea that they could work this way.

From Gerald O's thread. Note the extended front legs, you don't have to do this. The cabinets can be mounted directly to the wall, but if your interested in extending the adjustable feet, read the rest of this thread.

Can anyone please share how I could replicate similar feet extenders?
