Dang, I think I got the same Snap-on screwdriver as BMW. Not much of value here, appears all the real WW tools left earlier. This looks like the dregs from a cabinet, couple of NIB plane socks, Veritas angle setter, bunch of abrasives and fasteners, couple of hones, and three screwdrivers found buried, couple of box lots. First sale with tools since Covid, everyone in masks, seller had masks and sanitizer available.

Hey Rickster,
I'll ask since I don't know.
Are the 3 "zebra handled" hammers an owner modification?
Reminds me of when I used a propane torch to burn then clear the wood work in my 78 E150 custom van...

Yes, I believe they are. They have what I thought might be a manf name but turned out to be owner marks because I found the same letters on the DBE wrenches.

A collection of mostly NIB/NOS Diamond, Utica, Klein, Armstrong and misc for $16. A NIB Ungar heat shrink gun for $6. SO AF257 bushing driver kit for $40 and a CM USA DBE roll for $5.

Davefr definitely a you **** price for that DBE roll. What series is it? -V- or newer?

I pieced together my =V= DBE SAE from a couple toolbox finds and then ebay to fill in the gap. Slowly working on a =V= DBE MM set. Its great when you find a complete set in a roll!!!!

Yesterday wasn't a great one for tools, but good nonetheless.
I hit a half-dozen sales and only netted the following:

Plomb and Snap-on drivers, Starrett pocket scale and what I thought was a set of Starrett drill gauges, but were just hiding behind a Starrett chart. Grrr...

But a few stops at thrift stores were good:

The Chapelle book is one of the classics of wooden ship building, and the Wolfe is a classic of American literature. Both were printed in 1935.

And my final stop looked good from the pics but there weren't any good handtools (guessing a family member must have gotten them) but I did find these:

a four shelf set of barristers bookshelves. These go for $200 a shelf in an antique store, but I walked away with them for $400, talked down from $500. Pretty happy as the wife was looking at a set of repops a while back at nearly that price, but told her that I could find a much better set for not much more money.

Beemer- fantastic find in the barristers! If I had a house as original and intact as yours I would only buy the real deals with age to them! Great find

Congrats everyone on the great finds. It's dead here in S.A. this week. Most sales advertising porcelain dust collectors, glassware and Christmas decorations. Yawn. It's been too hot to work in the garage, too--106 degrees today. Toasty.

I think his whole day's acquisitions are a big Yankee Sierra. You ****, Dave!

Nothing worth running after around here. I'm spending my day wandering around my garage, muttering to myself and looking for tools, surfing GJ, and, occasionally, wrenching on the Impala.

We had severe thunderstorms most of the night. Mostly dull booms off in the distance for me, which I'm still hearing - 8 fires touched off so far, some rain so hopefully that helped.

But the overcast held in yesterdays heat, so it only got "down" to 75? Still expected to be low ninties, but inside the house we only got it down to 77 three whole degrees less than the peak, so we expect inside to get even hotter inside than yesterday...

So no one had anything worth even trying for today so far...

My local flea market is open! Not many sellers out, but it was sure nice to root through some boxes of rusty tools again. Most people were masked up. And probably 1/32 the pre plague number of buyers. I picked up some plomb, a handful of 1/4 sk, and a 1949 craftsman catalog. Almost felt like a normal Sunday morning again.

Saturday’s 4 garage sale tool hunt netted me this lot at the last sale. I got there an hour after opening and was surprised they were still there! Matco 1/2dr Metric impact socket set and a socket tray with a mixed set of sockets. Some Snap-on, Cman, a MAC and a bunch of SK. Most of these went into the bins awaiting pieces for a full set, but was able to put together a full SAE set of SK deeps.

Oh no. I see yet another category to add to the 2021 Garage Sale Thread!

At least the August monthly run down will be interesting.

related, seems relatively old)
Lectrolit Tru-Fit 2116 (never saw model like this before with both markings)
MAC D4
Williams Superrench 1090D Tappet
SK WAYNE 9/16
Blue Point Supreme DOE

Nice. I swore they had the flat A, not the pointy A the =V= series is known for. I have seen =V= flat A before; the difference I noted were they were the wider width of -V-. So must have been a transition/overlap time.

Great set. Enjoy!

I had a pretty good weekend in the junk acquisition sense. I was following yard sale signs Saturday, pulled up at a sale with stuff out by the street (I thought) and a lady came out and said, "We're not having a sale, but you can have anything on the street, free" Here is what I ended up with:

There is more too, screwdrivers, chisels, hardware, etc. Probably the best thing is the 8" Black and Decker circular saw.

Then I went into the garage that they were cleaning out, and the guy said "We have these vises but my dad wants probably big money for them" I asked him how much and he said "make an offer" I said "$40 for both" he went in and asked his dad, I came home a couple of vises richer. 3.5" Prentiss Monarch 214 and a 4" Athol 614

I also got a set of Billings SAE combi wrenches in the roll today for $10 and a Reelcraft compressor hose reel for $30 at a local flea market, which was pretty busy, but I forgot to take pics, and a Smith Little Torch for $35. I am pretty sure I am forgetting some stuff too

I think you've earned "you ****" for the street find and the vise duo. I see the best vise finds coming from garage sales/flea markets. At least the estate sales I've been too up here are selling them about 1/2 off ebay prices. And ebay sales are the exact comps the estate people tell me if I question the price. That said I do think I got a great vise off ebay this weekend; local pickup. I'll post it next :)

I have been on the lookout for a Woodworker's Vise. I found a Columbian Cleveland, Ohio 10" Jaws Woodworker's Vise in good condition on Ebay. Won the auction for $45. Picked it up this weekend. It's a beast!!! Seller said these normally sell over $150. No doubt the local pickup only option helped me out :)
