Wanted to just set the casters in the slots to check out cutting job, it’s how I envisioned.

I love the look of those wheels.
The rubber is made by Firestone. Hope I don’t have any blowouts.
In other doings, I started some prep on the I-beams for the trolley.
When I picked out and marked the beams at the scrap yard, one was stacked tightly with other beams, when I came back to pickup I seen one had this plate on it. They already weighed it and there really wasn’t another in this size, so I loaded it up.
Today I cut that plate off.

It was very well welded on. I used a cut off wheel on the angle grinder to sever the welds without getting into the beam.
On the edge of the web, I cut through the weld into the plate, when I flipped beam over, I thought it’d be better to just cut through plate and weld right next to the edge of the web, I should of just kept going the way I started.
I wanted to get this off tonight, but the last edge decided to whip my ***. I was able to get the plate starting to come off by driving a big chisel under it. The first side was breaking off nicely, the other side that I thought I had a better way of cutting not so.
So, since I had hung the torch reel up, it was a piece of cake to drag out 70’ of hose to get out behind the shop. Just one of those times where steel just didn’t want to be separated. It’s off, looks good, just will need a little grinding to smooth out.
Picked up the structural hot dipped galvanized bolts and bevel washers this week too.
Just one of many projects going on.
