The expanding pliers are Battery Terminal Clamp Spreader Pliers. From what I've seen online, they appear to be from the 1950s.

At first glance, it looks like it could have been modified to be an O2 sensor socket.

It's been a while since I've had anything worth while to post. The Workmate (Type 2) (photos 1 &2) was through craigslist and the small hand plane (photo 3) was at a garage sale. Hit up 3 garage sales on one street...all overpriced. This plane was the only thing worth buying. $25 total. No...

Only one patent for Starrett that day (of the 25 awarded). Called it a "Beveling Instrument" http://www.datamp.org/patents/displayPatent.php?pn=282583&id=11973

I bought this today from my neighbor for $35. It will replace my inadequate HF air compressor. Hopefully I will be able to sell my HF for a decent amount.
