Came across this in my local Cabela's store the other day and thought you guys might find it interesting. An 18650 with a micro USB charge port on the side
What do I swear by? Other than the typical test light, dmm, power probe and scope my top picks are:
Low amp probe
5v adapter for the power probe
an assortment of lights like turn signal bulbs and headlights with known amperage
ASE wave adapter kit
I had the same decision, my son in law has the IR cordless stuff and they are really nice tools but they don't offer the selection of tools that other companies do. I settled on the Milwaukee for that reason and have been VERY happy with all of them. I have a lot of the 18v and 12v tools and...
I am the exact opposite, I have a pile of 3/4" sockets up to 2"+ but no breaker bar or ratchet, just a snappy adapter and either 1/2" impact or my long 1/2" snappy ratchet or breaker. Mainly due to most 3/4" ratchets that come in the sets are complete garbage both in strength and function...
Well lets see, my list would go something like this
Sunex tool cart with full drawers
Grey Pneumatic impact sockets and skip all the chrome
Snap-on gold tip torx bit set
Gear wrench 120xp ratchets
Snap-on wrenches
snap-on comfort grip screwdrivers
Milwaukee 18v fuel 3/8" & 1/2" impacts...
I could really see this being useful in the service truck, much better than having to drag hose and fire up the compressor not to mention there have been times I couldn't get the truck close enough for a hose to reach and had to use the multiplier to get the job done.
I have never been impressed with snap on cordless products and ditched mine in favor of the milwaukee and it was the best decision I have made. I currently have the 1/2" and 3/8" impacts and 1/2" drill in 18v along with 3/8" and 1/4" ratchets, 3/8" impact and 3/8" drill in the 12v. Im very...
Honestly I did the come-a-long thing for a long time hauling broken down cars back to the shop. I finally bit the bullet and bought a HF 9k winch and the wireless controller and EVERY time I use it I kick myself for not doing it sooner! For the $350 total investment it is well worth it even if...
This is along the lines of what I was thinking but I would add, it is Christmas time, it's a gift of appreciation and leave it at that, don't make a big deal about it and go to bed that night knowing you made the world a little better.
The angle method won't work, that is a way to measure bolt stretch to get it to its yield (hence the term torque to yield) bolts. The only way to do this is is with the proper tool. My suggestion would be to call your local CAT dealer or the like and see what they would charge to have one of...
To accommodate for the torque loss when using an impact. It allows you to use a 1/2" impact to overcome the torque loss but still use 3/8" impact swivels that are a much package.
I have a Matco (i think) 3' extension, 1/2" female to 3/8" male and its impact rated. Needed it for bell housing bolts once and have used it MANY times since then and it has really saved my bacon a few times.
