Hvac for new shop... any ideas?

I’m in the process of putting the finishing touches on my new shop. It’s 40x64x12.5 tall pole barn with 6-8” of open cell foam in the walls and about 8” on the roof deck. My question is what size of heat pump do I need to heat and cool this building? I don’t want it over sized as it would short...

    Garage advice

Thanks for all the advice. I had a couple excavating companies give me quotes on dirt work for my pad. One of the guys has at least 40 years moving dirt / building up building sites. I stressed my concern with using clay as fill. His reply was he had been doing it this way for ever with no...

    Garage advice

Here in southern Il people use clay dirt as fill all the time. What I’ve been told it does require to compact it in 6” lifts, and let it settle for quite a while. With my project it would cost me over $10000 for fill rock which is out of the question for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Garage advice

I’ve been going back and forth on to build a pole barn or stick built garage. I shot the building site elevation, and found that the low part of the site is 40” low. So I will have to have clay hauled in and compacted and wait for it to settle. So I have a while to figure what direction I need...

I'm planning on building a 30x40x10or12 stick built garage . Any advice? Dos and donts. I planned on using 2x6 for walls. My wife likes the idea of using attic room trusses but for the price I don't think they are worth the money. Plus 8/12 roof would make it harder to roof.(metal) Anyway any...

I'm in the planning process right now. I would like some feedback on a garage that I will be starting on in less than a year. I'm thinking about a 24'x40'x10 stick built garage with a vaulted ceiling in the middle and truss storage on both ends. I plan on using this garage for mainly woodworking...
