You can make your own safety glass by gluing the two pieces you've cut yourself with E6000. Just put enough in between both pieces to move them around until the air bubbles come out. I found a bunch of tubes of it for a buck each at the local Dollar General.
I put a short coupling under the jaw so it would surround the top of the pin. The vise was sitting upside down in the press. I would do this as an absolute last resort though. It took an extreme amount of pressure to pop it out. With a press, if things aren't set up perfect, parts can come loose...
Heat, soak and repeat the process. I broke the jaw on my first one using a press because I didn't have the jaw properly supported. The next one I did I didn't make the same mistake. Be prepared to ruin several punches trying to remove that damn pin. Just being persistent and patient is the ticket.
Check out the guy that sells Japanese tools on here. One of those manufacturers makes an awesome oil can. We have one at work and it's flawless. I think the brand is Koken? I'm not sure but once you find the site you'll find the can.
There's obviously or hopefully a backstory. Maybe his wife wants him to sell and he doesn't want to sell so he told her that it's worth that much and he showed her the post?
Thanks for all the replies. I got to run it before we unhooked it and loaded it up. It had no moisture in the tank and the filter was still in place. I'm going to give it a bath tomorrow and hook it up. He also gave me two "come alongs", air hoses, fittings and some hammers. I'll talk more...
