still making payments on the bottom box lmao, and the purple is absolutely not negotiable. i got the top box from my matco guy at a STEAL of a price. i appreciate it sir. i'll have to look into how the matco cabinets are mounted as well.

    matco toolbox end cab compatibility

shot in the dark but here goes: i have matco 4s box with 27" deep drawers. i want a side cabinet or locker of some sort for it, but the matco side cabs cost more than i want to spend on add-on storage. hoping to see if anyone has had any experience mounting cabinets from different brands...

    matco SB12SP spark plug sockets

i personally prefer magnetic, and i own the vim MSPM100, so i don't really need any of the ones in the matco set. that being said, i guess the ones that drew my interest were really the ball joint swivels. i think those would be cool, but not really required.

    matco SB12SP spark plug sockets

just noticed matco dropped a new spark plug socket set, part number SB12SP. it looks very similar to the earlier 13 piece set (which i think is made by vim), except it has pinless swivels instead of the classic U-joints. it also looks like the sockets have lil detent tabs in addition to magnets...

ball joint press kit adapter compatibility

i've heard of people using the HF kits for their ball joint presses as well, that was sort of why i posed the question. i grabbed the goliath XL c-frame with intent to get the rest of the astro kit, but then i ended up getting the snap-on, so now i have the XL c-frame and nothing to use it with...

ball joint press kit adapter compatibility

are adapter kits generally interchangeable between brands, or does everyone kind of do it differently? i know the snap-on BJP1 and the OTC CA6630 sets both have cups and plates and sleeves and such that have proprietary connecting systems, but what about other generic presses like astro...

    non-reversible drill?

i bought a pneumatic reversing flex head cutoff tool from matco, on a whim. it's saved my bacon too many times.

    non-reversible drill?

hi yall, i was shopping for pneumatic drills and came across some that are "non-reversible". does this mean they only drill in reverse (or the normal drilling direction)? are they specifically designed for fabrication? somebody educate me.

    socket set in 64ths sae

recently i've been quite amused with the idea of a 64pc socket set including sizes from 1/64" to 1". you'd never need a metric socket again, but then you'd also be stuck with weird sizes like 51/64 or 17/32. i don't know where i'm going with this. criticisms and opinions very welcome.

    cleaning power tools?

thanks everybody for the answers, i didn't expect to see this many replies! i'll definitely be trying out alcohol first, since i have that on hand already. wd40 is a consideration, only because i'm curious. tub o' towels sounds like the way to go, if i have to buy something. brake cleaner fucks...

    cleaning power tools?

did a bit of searching and i couldnt find anything so i figured i'd start a new topic. does anyone have any advice on cleaning the surfaces of power tools? i've been given the curse of really liking the high-vis color, so my primary power tools (ratchet, 3/8 impact) are high-vis. unfortunately...

    spare tire winch socket

i've seen this before! i think i've seen it on a couple toyotas, so that tracks. it's very uncommon though.

    spare tire winch socket

weird question, and i wasnt sure how to word the thread title, so bare with me. i'm a professional mechanic and a lot of times come into contact with spare tires that have to be lowered to the ground from under the car (although usually, i'm lifting them back up lol). it is definitely a hassle...

    Matco USA Thinwall Impact Sockets

it probably is mumbo jumbo, but so far i've had no issue with mine. then again, i haven't broken or cracked any other impact socket i own either lol. again, grain of salt. i presumed he meant "strongest". either way, he seems to be a real straight up guy when it comes to guys i could have gotten...

    Matco USA Thinwall Impact Sockets

hate to necro thread but i do have some input. my matco guy told me the impact sockets (not adv, but matco brand) are the hardest of the impact sockets on the market. it was from the mouth of the beast itself, so take it with a grain of salt lol. that being said, i do love my matco hardline...
