Thanks for the responses guyz.
I was looking at them as an alternative to plywood, thinking that they would just be easier to move around. They're for my attic in my house where I would use them just to get around in tight spaces.
I also just picked this up too. Great book so far.
The Home Depot books are pretty good from what I've read. I haven't bought one yet. I just go to HD when I have a question and treat it as a library.
The B&D books look pretty good too from what I've read in bookstores.
The door and garage is ancient. Not sure how heavy it is, but it's solid wood with 4 glass panes on the top panel. It's a little over 6' tall, not sure how wide. It's not too bad to open it manually since 1 spring is still intact. I'm guessing it'll be more than 130 because I'd like to get...
I just got rough quote of $130 to replace my extension springs. Is that a good ballpark ?
Reality is, after reading about the dangers involved in this fix, I don't think I'm willing to do this myself.
Stopped by at Ace hw yesterday and picked up graphite powder. For $1.79, I figured how can I go wrong. Did the rollers and hinges and it's whisper quiet now. Also noticed that there's a wheel missing. The missing wheel causes the door to make a little hum when the door gets to the top. The...
Thanks for the feedback guyz !
I was thinking white lithum grease. Was hoping to redo the garage in '06, but '07 looks more realistic now. Bought and dormered a house this year. I need a break from construction. Figured I'd be able to migrate the GDO to the new garage.
What do you guyz use to lube the garage door hinges, tracks, etc. with ? I just installed a Chamberlain belt drive opener. The door is ancient and creaks like crazy.
Totally hear you on the investing front. Best advice I learned out of school.
A Skyline swap would be nice. I was in the middle of my 280zx turbo upgrade when I ran out of money. Was in the middle of a Tec II engine mgt. system. Still have the car and hopefully will find time to bring it...
I currently have a 1 car garage-a-ma-hut and planning on blowing it away for a 2 car (hopefully within a year). I'm starting to read up on lifts as well since I pretty much want to build the garage with the lift in mind.
I was poking around on bendpak's site yesterday and stumbled into their...
