    Mower recommendation?

Whatever brand you decide on, make sure you get a commercial model. "Homeowner" models will not last long cutting as much grass as you have. I just replaced a 12yr old Husqvarna 61" 25HP with a Scag Tiger Cat 61" 31HP and it is a beast. Much more comfortable, more powerful, and faster. I would...

    Screeding a concrete pad question

Drive a grade stake in the middle of the pour like firebird said. When everything is to grade around it, either pull it out, or beat it down a couple of inches below the surface.

    Moving a generator slab?

Just add another foot. Even if you get it to move, it will not sit flat against the subgrade causing potential cracking down the road.

    Hot or cold rolled plate

Hot rolled will have mill scale and be much less expensive. Cold rolled, no mill scale. Like Dave said, no need for cold rolled for a benchtop.

How long does new concrete slab need to stay wet?

I had the roof on my pole barn when I poured the slab, so the majority of the 36x50 slab was shaded. I ran a sprinkler on it all day for 7 days. I have seen very minimal surface cracking. Not sure if its related to watering, shading, or something else, but I am happy. The longer, the better is...

    Intake Louver

I installed a 24x24 exhaust fan in the peak of one of the gable ends of my 36x50 shop. I usually open a man door or overhead door to provide intake air when I turn it on. I'm thinking it would work better if I installed an intake louver on the other gable end to pull the air across the shop...

    50' X 80' Pole Barn with 12' Lean-to

What will the lean-to be used for? If for storage, I would go deeper. Mine is 16' with +/-1' overhang, and is not deep enough. I suggest at least 20' for storage.

    Solar Lighting on Gated Entrance

Also posted this to the General Forum, but quickly realized I should have placed it here. Has anyone ever used any type of solar lighting on their gated entrance? I have to use solar because I do not have power at the gate. There are a running ton of options, but I'm not sure about durability...

Has anyone ever used any type of solar lighting on their gated entrance? I have to use solar because I do not have power at the gate. There are a running ton of options, but I'm not sure about durability, longevity, etc. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Gate gets plenty of sun, so I'm...

That's what I am thinking as well. Thanks for the input.

    Garage Door Opener Light

I currently have 3 manual 10x10 coiling doors in my shop. I am contemplating adding an electric operator to one or more of the doors to be able to park my truck in. It looks like my the Liftmaster LJ8950W is a viable and somewhat affordable option. My question is: is there a way to add a light...

    45x80x16 Shop w/apartment

I like the idea, however I don't think $10k will touch this. I built a 12'x24' bar/mancave in my shop, did 100% of the work myself and still had a little less than $10k in it with the only appliance being a fridge. Heating & cooling will be your biggest expense. I got away with a mini-split...
