    need Ideas

Just use some plumbers straping. Its a roll of metal strap about 3/4" wide with holes punched about every 1/2", used to hold pipes. Just put a strap across the handle near each end and run a screw top and bottom. Or take some tin snips and cut a piece of sheet metal to make straps. You could...

Adding a Switch to the "Street" Lamp in my Backyard

I would not think twice about hooking it up myself. I would not recomend it for someone that does not know about electrical work, but I do it all the time. You could try calling in and say that it does not work, then when the service guy comes talk to him. If you have the material and a few...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Here is my Reed no. 106R vise And my Ridgid pipe vise. Both mounted on a 3/4" thick steel top table, with super heavy cast iron legs. The table is so heavy it never moves, even if you have something in the vise with a 8' cheater bar on it. Its like its welded to the floor. :D

    Handling a roadside breakdown

One time my buddy and I were out in my old Willys Jeep and it was starting to run hot. I knew the thermostat had to be stuck closed. All I had with me was a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. I took the hose clamp loose and pulled the hose off, then punched some holes throught the thermostat with...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT 32x40 barn-style garage build

Very Nice!!! Everything looks like it belongs there. Keep up the nice work. Mine is 32x60 when I built the upstairs I came in 4' on each side and built an open stud wall. That left 24' open in the center, and I used standard 24' garage trusses on top.

    Let's see your toolbox.

Heres my Craftsman bottom, top, side cabnet and side shelf. The center section is Mac. I built the spray can holder on the bottom right side. I have had it since the early 80s with no problems. It does not get used every day, but it gets its share of use and is loaded down. It mostly stays in...

    24X38 3 car with loft

How heavy is that bi-fold door? They tore one out of a confrence room at work, it was only a few years old and looked like brand new. I was going to take it until I tried to move it, I could not even pickup one end. I decided that I did not need it. Plus it was to tall and I did not see any good...
