Thanks. I've already got about a dozen things in my cart... now I've got to add a couple more. Appreciate the code! 👍🏻

    Long pattern wrenches

I know it's not the COO you asked for, but the gear wrench long pattern zero offset wrenches can be found in standard and metric, have a box end on one side and a ratchet wrench on the other, and are quite a bit longer than the standard pattern. They're much like an aircraft wrench in that the...

    Show your new tool arrivals

Not brand new, but NOS. Picked up with Ace Hanson tap and die set from eBay. Can't beat the assortment for just over $40 and free shipping. Slight rusting on the thread pitch gauge and the die handle has some slight corrosion, but everything else is as new. Hard to beat!

    Rotary hammer recommendations

Thanks everyone. I went with the Bosch 8.5amp 1-1/8 bulldog Xtreme Max gbh2-28L Two bathrooms already torn up, along with the *smacks forehead* particle board tile underlayment. Tile came up quite easily, you can see the 12x12's clearly had maybe 50% adhesion. Particles board with ring...

    Rotary hammer recommendations

Vacation plans for the next 5 days cancelled as the mountain passes are shut down for conditions so.... Starting demo on ~800sq ft of ceramic tile in the house. Looks like the rotary hammer with a spade bit is the way to go. Probably go corded for the money and how often I'll use it afterward...

    Tool chest drawers soft close

+1 for disliking soft close. Even in the kitchen. I want to reach over and flip a drawer open with on finger.... not plant my feet and hamfist the knob in order to get past the first two inches of resistance. Call me old school or a "caveman" but I think the real caveman is the one that...

    Tired socket set

Wait, the Milwaukee set is too much? They're a decent homeowner grade set. Say thanks again and go out them to work. 👍🏻

THE best single socket set -- DeWalt 192 piece -- $150

I was in the same a couple years ago. I couldn't find the craftsman set I had purchased ears ago, and everything else was full of some useful tools and some junk. I ended up with a kobalt set on sale for Black Friday (although today that dewalt 247pc looks appealing). I removed about 1/4 of...

GearWrench Ratcheting Wrench Set, 20 pc. $39.99 @ Tractor Supply

My local store showed stock, but the employees couldn't locate any for me. They have an alternate 20pc (with the same sizes and specs) set for a higher price, that they would not substitute. Packaging said made in china/Vietnam.

Anyone have success getting Lowes to honor Craftsman warranty?

Go back and try again. Leave the package and the receipt home. No need to mention Sears. This is a craftsman warranty and nothing else. Just bring the broken extension. I've found lowes warranties cm easily, just make it as simple as possible. Bring on a broken socket, not a set. Leave with...

Shop Compressor -- turn off when not in use?

Local shop burned down after their compressor ran away due to a blown air line. It's so easy to flip the breaker, or install a relay/timer. Much easier and cheaper than replacing a pump, or an entire garage. Why WOULDNT you shut it off?

how do I find out if their is a lien on a snap on tool box?

No one is forcing the oil change guy to take out a loan, or buy a 20k box. It was his choice. Just because you're able to get the credit doesn't mean it's someone else's fault when you abuse it. Are you anti credit cards and pro college loan forgiveness? Both of those do the same thing. The...

    Gun Oil

Breakfree works great. They also make a long term storage version that won't gum up or get tacky, but is intended for firearms that only see rare use.

Husky manual impact driver 1/2 inch quality opinion

Can't comment on the husky, but it's only $5. No loss of it doesn't live long. about the time covid hit I found a need and ended up with a minty Japanese mfg Vessel with both 1/2" and 5/16 for $12 shipped on eBay. The vessels drivers have a pretty good standing here.

Friends don’t let friends buy cheap wrenches . . . Or do they?

I stoped by Home Depot, picked these up, and put them right back down. I too have a vacation home several hours away, and I'm also accumulating another tool set. While I can't offer specific advice, I can say the recent batch of "made in India" tools are not as nice as the made in china stuff...

Any Deals At The Pawnshop Lately?

Not the best deal around, but for $100 otd I couldn't pass up a set of sae and metric cornwell deep 3/8's 6pt sockets and a mac brake piston kit. Pawn shops around here usually have bucket of no name tools for cheap, but the name brands get put inside the glass cases are often ask full retail

Can GJ claim sole credit for driving up vise prices or does inflation get part of the blame?

Man, you'd think someone in little old Colville would be wanting to sell that thing quick to pay for some pellets or propane. It's gunna be 5* 🤣 I know several people who intentionally post stuff 30-40% high simply because of the lowballers.

Pliers - Must Have Pliers & Brands?

My home box(es) is probably a little more robust than some... But at the very least I'd need: Slip joint Needle nose in straight and angled Diagonal cut pliers and flush cut pliers Cable cutting pliers Channelock would be fine for all those. I'd also recommend you splurge and buy the...
