Craigslist Ad - Rustoleum Hammered Verde Green Spray Paint $40 Per Can

I'd gladly pay $25 forna can just so I can finish up this project and get it out of my way... But $40 & dealing with craigslist BS, I'm out. 😬 $40 seems ridiculous for a can of paint, but we're all guilty of spending $25 on fast on a whim, because it's faster than fixing a sandwhich at home...

Looking for Used Valve Seat Grinder Setup - Any Recommendations?

Where are you located? Im in the PNW and my father has been toying with the idea of selling his two Kwik-way valve seat grinders and his valve refacer machine. He's a heavy diesel mechanic by trade, and we rolled up a decade or so ago with small engine and sbc tooling. We are in the...

    craftman wrenches

eBay, but they're a hot commodity on eBay right now so expect to pay a premium. Small town pawn shops are great. I've bought tons of craftsman USA wrench singles for $1-3 each depending on size and quality, yes even recently.

    Show your new tool arrivals

Do these have the "wave drive" feature that the Capri set has (currently $101 on Amazon).

    Tool identification help

Not a tool. It's a poor excuse for a lock, for things like hotel rooms or bedrooms that don't lock.

    CoThG's Toolbox question thread

Not comparing struggles of today's adult to the struggles of a 13yr old boy. You missed the point. My point was that a 13yr old, public school attending, B-/C+ student is able to figure out how a loan works, what interest costs, and what the total cost will be. At age 13 he can spot a bad...

    Advice on tools

Lots of good advise here. Half that list could be filled at your local harbor freight. The US general tool cart is a great start. You can get by with the Pittsburg brand harbor freight wrenches and sockets to get you started, but the Icon line is definitely worth the extra dollars. Also agree...

CRIPE DISTRIBUTING * HOT DEALS THREAD *

FWIW, Heather came through from Cripe's customer service. I got my missing item, posted USPS first class, and it showed up yesterday no charge, just an interrogatitive series of emails.

CRIPE DISTRIBUTING * HOT DEALS THREAD *

Don't tell me this. I just ordered 67 items and was shorted one as well. Four email exchanges to try and sort out getting the $2.50 item that weighs maybe 2oz. I've easily spent over $600 with them in the last two years, but this customer service experience has been a big let down. I'd chalk...

which vise of these two should I buy?

At the very least, buy something good looking and that DOESNT have an exposed screw. Some older craftsman, rock islands, etc sell on eBay fairly commonly for $50-70 shipped and are pretty well made for the money... and you can flip them for a profit when your done using it, with a $5 paint job.

    Semi-deep 1/2 sockets

Semi deeps or "mid length" sockets are excellent. They're my go to most of the time. I rarely need the full benefit of a full broach deep socket, but so many times I run into a shallow socket that won't quite do the task. I'll add to the list. Gearwrench makes a semi deep chrome, and Capri...

    Best tool purchase from 2022?

Agreed. I've been using a Lang "universal" type for over a decade and finally stumbled across a full set of Mac snap ring pliers at a swap meet... why did I wait so long!?!

Looking for a tool for a specific task

I'm not a plumber, but between the recreational property, the 6 sinks in my own home, and being the "mechanically inclined" family member that always gets called, I understand the frustration. I went to harbor freight and grabbed 5/8, 3/4, and 7/8" open end wrenches and cut them down to about...

    CoThG's Toolbox question thread

I don't work for a bank, and I'm surely no loan officer, but I get pretty sick of the term "predatory lending." If you're an adult, and you've got a high school diploma or GED, you should be smart enough to understand how payments and interest works. It's a pretty basic math principle, that was...

12 point sockeets in addition to 6 point working on cars/light trucks and SUVs: do you have both shallow and deep? which drives?

I couldn't get by without, at the very least, a full set of 3/8 drive 12pt shallow sockets on sae and metric. I don't wrench for a living, but I'm "that guy" amongst family and friends and lately it seems like I need at least one 12pt socket for every job. If I already had them, I'd keep 3/8...

    1 Day shower remodel

The good wall panels will be a laminate wall panel, or a decorative pvc wall panel. The low end stuff will by acrylic (and ugly). The pvc panels are the ones you want, and can have an ornate marble appearance, feaux subway tile, natural stone, etc like some newer hotels are using. There are...

Do Telescopic ladders work well? I was thinking to get the Metaltech version

I use the ladder in question in a commercial setting. It's pushing three years old. Overall I like it but here are a few things to be aware of... 1. If you're using it around glues, paints, and any chemicals that will harden or turn gummy, eventually you will start having issues with the...
