I have a Vertical Mill, (Bridgeport knock off) The vise and rotary table seem to have somehow gained weigh so I would like to come up with a simple hoist I could mount on the side to swing to the side where I set them and then rotate to set on the mill table. Has anyone been down this road?
Today was an awesome day! One of my good friends had called on Saturday and said he was going to be at his dads shop today and for me to come and meet him there. I made the trip this morning, it's about 2 hours from my place in west Phoenix. He had several things set aside for me and as we were...
Since my last post about being thankful for friends helping me after I injured my right ankle and calf so I could stay on schedule for shop painting I am finally getting around a little better and had a couple of fairly productive days in getting the shop back together after moving everything in...
So recently my neighbor and good friend called and asked if I could help him with a small project, hey no problem what do you need? His air cleaner/spark arrester won't clear the cover on the boat since I rebuilt the engine and changed the intake manifold. I fixed him up with a new one.
So last...

I have this Black & Decker Valve & Seat Grinder and I did find a manual but it is not the correct one. Does anyone one that they would be willing to sell or copy for me. The one I have is from Beam in Pa. and they say it is the closest on they have. Thanks for any help or a place to look.
So I bought a lathe, this was the start of an unplanned shuffle of equipment and shelving. I finally decided on a location after trying to put the lathe in 5 different places in the shop. Then I discovered I did not have another breaker available. Dang it! This ended up requiring a larger load...
I picked up theses Snap On Blue Point XD wrenches last weekend because they reminded me of a guy i worked with in the early 70's. He would always put a 1/2-9/16 in his pocket when he opened his tool box. Does anyone have any info on them? Thanks

Started cutting yesterday for a work table project. I was able to get a lot of the pieces cut yesterday and will post some pictures of what I get accomplished later this afternoon. I am not going to divulge the purpose of the work table till the end when I can post a picture of it in use.
So I started out to replace my bench I have had for 18 years. I thought about trying to see how many ideas I could borrow from the forum and still make it work with what I already had. This where I started this morning and how far I got today. I still have one more feature to add. I would like...
