    Skudo concrete floor protection

Very interesting product I just found today. http://www.skudousa.com/surface-types/concrete/ Basically temporary protection for your concrete floors during construction. Apply product, roll out the fiber mat and roll down. After construction, just peel it off. Shiny new floor! Looking at...

    ??s on Welding Ground Clamps

I noticed my ground clamp is starting to wear at the attachment to the wire, so I did a search on Ebay and a few other sites. Seems there are about 50 different variations, and price ranges up to more than I paid for my welder. Other than amperage rating, is it just personal preference? Are...

    Least favorite shop task?

I just spent the last 20 minutes changing the sandpaper on my 12" disc sander. Had to peel the grit off, then scrape all the paper off, then clean all the adhesive off. Definitely one of my least favorite shop task. What's yours?

    Looking for ideas…...

I'm looking to repurpose this sewing machine motor. I got it free off of CL with the table, which will become another bench in the shop. The interesting thing about this motor is that it has a clutch on it. The motor spins, but you have to pull on the bar underneath it to engage the pulley...

Dumbest thing I've done in awhile

Wanted to weld up a sub-frame for a stone countertop before the rain started. In my hurry, I failed to remove that last bit of wire in the lead when the spool runs out. Mounted up the new spool, stuck it in the feeder and pulled the trigger. Now I have two lengths of wire stuck in the whip...

    Rhino Flooring

Current project at work spec'd Rhino Extreme for a floor covering. The whole floor was sheathed with SCUF AC Plywood. Same ply was used for the base, and a 1" cant strip was added to help ease cleaning in the corners. We spent the weekend getting ready for them to come out today and start...

    Shear Brake Roll question

I have a Jet SBR 40N that I am trying to get tuned up. On the shear, it cuts good for the 1st part of the cut, then just folds the metal. There are 3 adjustment points. Two on each end of the table, and 1 center on the back. My problem is that is cuts fine at all three adjustment points, but...

What will they think of next?

Strolling thru the Lowe's today, I saw some Kobalt jack stands with lasers in the saddles. Shoots a cross hair up. Any real use for this? Seemed kinda useless to me, but what do I know about anything?

    Heat and bend cast iron?

I have a small cast iron part that is a few degrees off from lining up with a mating part. Any chance I can heat and twist it without breaking it? The part is about 6" long, and 1" X 3/8". I'd rather live with than break it. Any thoughts?

    Air tool storage

I seem to remember there may be a thread on this subject already, but I couldn't find it. My drawer is filling up, and I'm thinking about a dedicated cart just for air tools. Before I go that route, I'd like to see what ya'll have come up with for storing your various air tools. In addition...

    The making of a table

I've been meaning to photo a project start to finish, but I always forget and before you know it I'm half done with no pics. I ended up with an amazing piece of vintage cast iron, and I've been thinking about what to do with it for a couple months. I'm pretty excited to see how this one turns...
