    SK or GearWrench torque wrench?

Buy the Precision Instruments split beam 1/2 inch drive torque wrench. It is only about $144.00. It has no spring that loses its shape over time and does not need to be adjusted to lowest setting before storing. It is excellent quality and very reliable.

    SO Wrenches / other options?

Snap On makes the best wrenches and if you can afford it buy it. The other brands are OK though even the Pro Craftsman. Just avoid Great Neck tools like the plague.

Vintage SO dial tq wrenches and recalibrating

I would buy the dial torque wrenches because they are more reliable than the click type and stay accurate longer. They do not have a spring that loses its shape with time. You can buy a Precision Instruments dial torque wrench for a lower price than the Snap On brand. I think they make some...

I'm tired of pushing high quality tools

I am going to continue buying Snap On tools because the high prices do not discourage me. I make a lot of money in the stock market. I know how to pick those stocks that double in price within one year. Last year I picked three that double two of which doubled in less than 8 months. The...

    SO Wrenches / other options?

The Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches are a good brand and very good quality. The nonratcheting wrenches I would only buy from Snap On though

    SO Wrenches / other options?

I only buy wrenches from Snap On because they have the flank drive patent which grips much better than competitors wrenches. The Snap On wrenches also have much better fit, finish, and ergonomics. I believe Snap On makes the best wrenches and the competition is much inferior. Other brands...

I have a Waterloo Magnum tool chest and I am very satisfied with the quality. The other cheaper model Waterloo tool chests are not worth buying though.

    GearWrench Survey

It does not take much time to switch tools from high torque breaker bars to lower torque ratcheting wrenches if you are well organized. It is also much safer because a ratcheting wrench failure could cause severe injury. There are things in life more important than money. I choose not to...

    GearWrench Survey

I never use ratcheting wrenches to break fasteners loose. I am very adamant about using the right tool for the job. What is the point of having so many expensive tools that you never use? It is my opinion that the best ratcheting wrenches have the lowest ratcheting torque which usually...

Need ebay advice, Bought a beat ratchet

All of the sellers on EBAY I have dealt with have been honest, but there are sellers who are willing to rip people off. I would definitely leave negative so other people can avoid getting scamed. I do not buy very often from EBAY so maybe I will never be a victim.

Anyone buy loctite by the case?

How much heat is necessary for red loctite? I usually use a low temperature heat gun or hair dryer for heat source because I work around dangerous gasoline fumes that could explode if exposed to a flame.

    Snap on T72 ratchet Quality

You might be over torqueing the 3/8 inch drive swival ratchet. This ratchet is not designed to be torque more than about 30 LBF FT. Use a breaker bar first to break the fastener loose then use the ratchet. The swival head ratchet is also not sealed like the other Snap On ratchets so grime and...

    IRWIN Quick Adjusting Wrench

The Knipex wrench pliers make adjustable wrenches obsolete. I have the large and small sizes and love them.

    KOBALT USA made tools

On Amazon.com there are Great Neck tools for VERY low prices and wondered if they are on par with Craftsman, Husky, Kobalt? They had a 40 piece socket set including a 3/8 inch drive ratchet and breaker bar for ONLY $6.00!!! I am not sure you could even buy 40 pieces of chocolate for $6.00

Craftsman Pro Wrenches - Good price?

I cannot risk using Craftsman wrenches because some of the fasteners I service are Aluminum and Brass which are soft and a good fit is very important. Otherwise Craftsman Professional wrenches are not bad. When I need a wrench I usually use the box end of 6 point combination wrenches. The...
