Need a LONG hedgetrimmer - OR new trimmer with attachments?

I just bought a stihl kombi km91r. So far I’ve only put about 4 hours on it but it’s a great machine. I have the trimmer, edger, and brush cutter. I like it so much I’ve been looking for more ways to use it.

Recommendations on an electric weed wacker?

Doesn’t sound like your corded weed trimmer is really handling your needs if your buying one every year? I don’t see a lot of manufacturers investing money into corded trimmers when the majority of customers are going battery powered. Change isn’t always a bad thing.

    selling used tools

I did this last year with mismatched sets of tools I used years ago. I made the most complete sets I could and sold them on eBay. I sold almost everything I put up. Flea market route would probably be just as successful. Don’t over price them and the will go quickly.

    Armstrong Chinese torque wrench

If no one has been about to explain patriotism to you by now then I am certainly not going to waste my time trying.

    Armstrong Chinese torque wrench

Some of us have pride in our country. Idk crazy talk I guess. A lot of hate for the Made in the USA crowd lately around here.

What's the going rate for wood floor refinishing?

3.50 sf here. The company that quoted me did not move any furniture. Ended up just replacing with new wood.

    Snap-on warranty

I don’t purchase a lot of snap on tools but I had an issue with a purchase recently that was covered with a full replacement of the tool. I was happy with the outcome but thankfully the defective tool didn’t slow down any work.

    Roofing chimney flashing

This company is on the north side. Idk if you tried them yet. http://modernbuilderssupply.com/branches/pa/pittsburgh.html I’d also check out 84 lumber. The customer service there can usually find and order almost anything.

    Home Depot (Husky) warranty

The customer service at my local Home Depot is A+. Lowe’s always gives me attitude and seems to get their joy from aggravating me. My Lowe’s is mostly 19/23 year olds that would rather their parents support them. Due to the small chance I may have to return an item I frequent Home Depot more often.

Water heater - tank or tankless? Eliminate chimney/flue?

I removed my chimney and put on a new roof last year. Instead of a tankless unit I decided to install a power vent water heater. I did a lot of research into pros and cons of tankless and decided it wasn’t a good choice for my house. The power vent uses PVC and vents out the side just like your...

Anyone know about Atlas Scothguard roof shingles?

Do you have black steaks on your current roof from algae? That seems to be the specialty of this kind of shingle. I’ve never heard of them. I assume algae is a regional problem so they don’t advertise in my area. I used Owen Corning with surenail technology because blow offs are a common...

what type of insulation is this

Looks like a type of blown-in fiberglass. Do you have a vapor barrier under that insulation? I’d air seal around and electrical boxes or vent pipes that may be in the ceiling.

All quiet here for 2hrs! okay, why did Robertson screws gain so little gr in the USA?

I use Robertson screws on my projects. If the heads get painted or filled in with putty I think they are easy to clean out if you ever need too. I also think the drive bits last longer then torx bits. The screws seem to take more torque before stripping out or snapping in my experience. They do...

    Interesting new Ryobi offering

The only thing the website shows is cutting master locks. I guess they we’re going for the sophisticated burglar? Jaws don’t seem to open wide enough for most pros to buy one.

    Sears circling the drain

They just turned our old sears building into a Rural King store. The tool selection is much better then sears was over its last 5 years...And I could buy a live duck there if I choose too. I think that’s where sears dropped the ball, we should have been able to buy live farm animals in their stores.

    Anyone else like Channellocks?

Yep just like that one. They have another style of handle I think on the “tog-l-lok” design. At one point I had both designs but I was just polishing them and never using them. The ones I had were in mint condition. I sold them on eBay last year. I have a decent set of channellock tools. If I...

    Anyone else like Channellocks?

I look in this thread occasionally and I’ve never spotted a pair of locking pliers model 910c made by channellock. They come in a few different style of handles.

    Filling in cracks in driveway

The self leveling product shown above is what I used in my garage. It’s easy to work with. I’d powerwash the junk out of the cracks and apply it on a warm day. One tube doesn’t provide much coverage so I’d plan on buying a case or two.

    Clean versus not so much.

My garage is organized but not clean by some of the standards here. I wipe off oil/grease, use the leaf blower about once a month, and take out the trash. Everything gets put in it place when I’m done with a project. It’s a detached garage I think that makes a difference sometimes. My...
