    framing nail guns

I used the HF framing nailer to build my garage. Worked great with Dewalt nails from Home Depot. I think they are 79.99 with a sale coupon. Keep it oiled and you won’t have any problems.

    Looking for a STRONG adhesive.

E6000 adhesive. I’ve had great luck with it. The company should advertise it better. I looked at the description on the company webpage and it mentions being vibration resistant.

    Awesome lumber yards

Another Baird brothers fan here. I just installed hardwood flooring and have a bunch of crown in the garage waiting to be installed. Great quality all around.

Anyone ever have the power company evaluation?

I looked into what was included with an audit with my supplier. For $435 they come out and replace your bulbs with LEDs, smart power strips and other energy saving equipment. Most of my bulbs are not standard (GU24 socket) so I doubt that would even be included. My walls need better insulation...

    Best snow boots?

I occasionally walk threw a creek with my Muck boots. Never had wet feet yet. I wear them for hunting in the snow also and they provide great traction.

Do you lock your toolbox at home?

Yes. I used to live with my brother and he would steal things all the time. The paranoia never went away. Plus I’m not a trusting person. Locks keep good guys honest.

    Oscillating tool/saw??

I have a cordless ryobi. With a fully charged battery and a sharp blade it does what I need it to. If I were to buy again I’d get a corded tool with a quick release disconnect for the blade. Most recently I’ve used it for undercutting door jambs for tile and hardwood floors. I can’t think of...

    Electric Snowblower

We just got 5 inches of light fluffy snow. The neighbor has a brand new snow joe 21” model that did a great job. I watched from my window while drinking a coffee.

PSA: Kidde recalling MOST plastic handled fire extinguishers

I received the rest of my replacement fire extinguishers in the mail Monday. Last weekend I took the opportunity to teach my wife how to use a fire extinguisher. We used one of the recalled units. It left some powder in the tank but other then that no issues.

PSA: Kidde recalling MOST plastic handled fire extinguishers

I submitted claims for 4 recalled extinguishers I have and 3 weeks ago. I received 1 extinguisher about 2 weeks ago. I called the claim number and sat on hold for 27 minutes. At that point the project I was working on was over and I hung up.

    Selling tools on ebay

I just recently started selling on eBay. It’s a user friendly platform but they completely side with the buyer. I sold a “custom lug nut lock removel socket set” that I believe the buyer switched out his broken sockets with the ones I sent. He then claimed I sent him broken sockets. I wasn’t...

    Cutting plastic balusters

I cut the same railings with a plywood blade on a miter saw. Blade facing normal direction. Take it slow and you won't have any issues. If the balusters splinter split and crack flip the blade around.

Oil soaked rocks + dirt - what to do with it?

Off topic but...I called DEP and EPA on a large amount of oil and antifreeze being dumped into rain water run offs. I had good video of it at the last pipe before it ran into the monongahela river. Nobody really cared unless I knew who was doing the dumping. Made me so mad. Think about that...
