I've been using this salt... https://www.homedepot.com/p/Diamond-Crystal-Solar-Naturals-Water-Softener-Salt-Crystals-100012454/100172669 ...in my Marlo combination filter/softener for 8 years. No dirt or issues here.

Walmart Lenovo M8 tablet for $30 In store ONLY

Brickseek said my local store had 6+ but Walmart.com said they did not. Went to the store anyways and I didn't find any M8's. But I did find an M10 HD for $59.00...

HF Quinn Flare Nut wrench set experience?

You could be right. But they did the the job that I needed them do without issue. Neither a regular wrench nor a Knipex plier wrench were able to break the line loose even after using heat and penetrating oil. Probably won't use them again for years so the price and performance were both great...

Scratches in new pole barn metal during install

OP - I might be wrong but I suspect that you are a lot like me, somewhat of a perfectionist. Most likely slow, careful and calculated in an effort to prevent any damage and ensure a high quality result. It pains me to say it but a "scratch here, a mark there and blemish over there" seems to be...

    Torque wrench recommendation?

My first 1/2" torque wrench was a Craftsman Microtork clicker, 20-150. Worked great but it only went up to 150 and I often needed more. Now I use a Precision Instruments spilt beam with a flex head, 40-250. I like the flex head, ALOT, and enjoy not having to adjust it back to 0 everytime I use it.

Did my electrician cut a load bearing stud? (pics included)

I have the plans and I'm not the original owner. Went to my local township and looked through the file for my property. Had to pay a few bucks but I got physical prints and then later scanned them all to PDF's.

    Older Tank Drainage question

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to agree with this. I bought a used compressor and I didn't drain it until I got home. Big mistake on my part. It was full of water. I drained it, dried it real well and sprayed some Fluid Film inside the tank to reduce further corrosion. But the damage was...

Recommend a deck board removal tool

I used the Duckbill Deck Wrecker on a 240 sq ft deck and it worked great. I was able to repurpose all but 1 board (it broke) for another project. It's certainly not the easiest work but it's the right tool for the job. I can't see how you'd easily do it without one. Very stout tool, by the way...

    Best "portable" Generator Battery??

I have a Champion generator from 2012 and I'm 99% certain that it's the original battery. I bought the generator used in either 2013 or 2014. It sits in a climate controlled garage with a Battery Tender Plus connected to it 24/7/365. I usually start it once a year or every other year and let it...

Will a metal building increase the value of land?

It's been discussed before that detached garages or workshops, whatever you want to call them, do not add value to the average buyer. However, there are some buyers out there that do value them. They are just the minority. Of course as others have said, location and area are important factors too.

    Concrete Disaster

Recommendations are only good if you are certain that the person making the recommendation is up to your standards. I like clean, neat, professional and detailed. It's hard for me to accept recommendations from anyone because for every 1 clean, neat, professional and detailed contractor, there...

Uses for 20+ small 12v batteries from APC UPS

So far I've given away 8 batteries and I've used 1 myself. Will keep the rest until I get tired of looking at them or they get in my way and then to the scrap yard they go.

Uses for 20+ small 12v batteries from APC UPS

I have (4) trays of batteries from an APC UPS. There are (8) batteries in each tray wired in series. I measured about 100V on the main brown plug. Batteries are made by CSB, model HR1221WF2. Label says sealed lead 12V 21W/Cell/1.67V/15min. I haven't assessed the health of each battery yet but...

4-Post Lift Slab Versatility - New Construction

Haha, this made me laugh. Do you really think a lift is going to slide on a floor? They're not light.
