What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Threw together a quick "industrial style" business card holder for a client. D ring shackle and some plate that I had laying around plus a TIG welder is all it took.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Can any vise experts tell me around what year this vise was manufactured? Also what would all the impact marks on the vise handle be from? The handle is perfectly straight so I can't see them being hammer marks. I scored this for $50 a couple weeks ago and it's a good smooth 4 inch small vise...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Designed and built a few of these T handle racks. Made them for my moto service tool box because I didn't like the available options. If anyone wants the .dxf cut files to make your own let me know. Or if you want the pre cut pieces to weld one yourself I can do that too.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Took the time to laser mark my Taps and drill bits that were worn down enough that the sizes were difficult to read quickly. Now I can easily grab the tool I need without magnifying glasses or taking a pic on my phone and zooming in :ROFLMAO:

3D printed and organized some of my toolboxes. Now only have more to do since the other boxes have to look as organized. It’s a problem 😏

    Aliexpress/Banggood deals thread?

Just a WARNING to Aliexpress users. I ALMOST got scammed badly on the last purchase and want to prevent this happening to anyone else. I was on the hunt for a metal cutting saw namely the evolution 14" metal saw and they typically retail in the $350-$400 range. I found a couple of sellers on...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Yes bought it with the rolling bench because it would fit my plan for it at the home shop. Good info..I have quite a few old plomb, proto hand tools ...maybe they can find a home in that toolbox once I get them cleaned up. I'll go check out the Pressteel thread.

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Yes. I'm planning on mounting a hydraulic press brake, or tubing benders on it and using the box to store the dies etc... like a mobile workstation that can be stored out of the way when not in use.

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

My vintage PresSteel box that I just bought. Not sure what year this would be from. Solid built drawer slides and drawers. Doesn’t sag when fully loaded with tooling.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Set up another fabrication workbench. This one holds different tools when in use, hydraulic bender, press brake, sheet metal brake etc.. 1/2” steel top and heavy gauge steel tube for the frame. Stripped, sanded, painted and waxed the steel top after some surface rust removal.

100$ish mag drills worth it? We're about to find out.

Had this Blue Rock one from Amazon about 4 years and it still works perfectly. Just drilled my 1/2” steel workbench top for a vise install. I’ve used it for aluminum and mild steel. The magnet could be stronger but that’s my only small gripe.
