Polished concrete floor- good for a residential garage?

I had epoxy installed professionally and it began to blister and flake so we had the floor ground and polished about 3 years ago. I use the garage to maintain my race car and park several vehicles. I had some issues with eflouresence at the beginning but those seem to be resolving over time...

    Race Shops

Case yes we race with SCCA and intend to run some select Pro2000 events this coming season. We generally visit Elkhart Lake a few times each season. The Runoffs are at RA again this September. If you enjoy sports car racing this is a great event. 24 races over 3 days and probably ~600 cars.

    rubber tiles mold?...polished concrete problem

I have been looking at some rubber tiles "Big Foot" that are reasonably priced. They however sit flush to the concrete and do not provide any area for air flow. Has anyone on the forum had experience with such a tile and if so, have you had any issues with mold or mildew? I have a polished...

    polished concrete

I went through the epoxy U DO IT program and it just did not work for me. We had the floor polished and for the most part are happy with the results. I get a white dust on the floor every week or so which requires mopping. I am told these are salts in the concrete that will eventually wick out...

    Stair Treads - Info Wanted

Re: Stair Tread COVERINGS - Info Wanted Sorry, I wasn't very clear in the initial post. I am looking for the coverings; the stairs are already constructed and are bare wood. I would like to finish them off with the industrial type coverings, but have not found a well priced option.

    Concrete Polishing

I doubt the equipment is available on the rental market. For the 1200sf I have it took them the better part of a week to complete and it was some hard work. Of course, part of the trouble with my floor was removal of the **** epoxy. It is well worth the cost.

    Concrete Polishing

For what it is worth I went through the epoxy floor coating program 2x! First time we went the "do it yourself" way and spent days on the prep of a virgin floor. When that failed we hired the manufacturer of the product to stip and re-install the epoxy. That lasted about 18 months before it...

    Parts washers.......

Re: Parts cleaner Try mineral spirits. You can purchase 1-5 gallon quantities much cheaper than the solvents at the big box stores and it is essentially what Safety Clean used when I had their service a number of years ago.
